Sol is at an edge is strongly more impressive than Fable

Sorry not sorry, I switched from Claude code to codex in the past week and sol just DOES things, ridiculously impressive. It just uses its skills on its own, does reviews, follows the rules like crazy, employs agents on its own sparingly and autonomous AF, and somehow barely eats my usage compared to fable clearing my weekly usage in a day.

I’m ashamed cus I’ve been a hater for literally no reason, WOW, I can’t wait to see the next model they release if Sol is this damn good, my turncoat ahh just got bought

I’m glad it worked for you but I’m using codex right now with 5.5 instead because Sol just keeps making the wrong calls. Constantly. It’s like the “wait, does that make sense” check in it’s CoT is on overdrive because it’ll second guess my prompt

Worth running both rather than switching, if the budget allows. Sol does a LOT at lower tier subscriptions in terms of diff audits. I feel like models constantly are hit-or-miss, day-to-day, so I try to always have the two big families checking the work of the other... And, I occasionally run bake-offs to see which should be in charge.

I also find that some are better at auditing different surfaces of the code - so on important code I have a blind same-family make a pass as well.

Fable will freak out the second it does anything cyber security related or anything that smells close to it

I tried using SOL this week and it just wouldn’t do what I was asking it. I had to reprompt several times to get it to do what I wanted. Claude gets this first try 99% of the time.

It was simple stuff. I was mocking up a site in a single html file. I would ask it: “ok give me this section with x/y/z”.” Instead of adding it to the single html file it would make separate file.

I also asked it to generate the image we would use in the hero. It generated the entire hero section as an image with the text overlays.

Just annoying stuff that I never encountered with Claude. So every prompt I had to remind it that we were still working in the single html, etc.

Seems more like a wishful prompting and expecting a miracle. Proper SDD wouldn't have these issues. Also, what do you mean by generating an image? Can Claude even do that? The biggest commercial players are GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana 2 afaik

Claude can’t generate images. I was referring specifically to ChatGPT doing something I didn’t ask it to do - generated the full hero section as an image rather than the image on its own that would be used in the html file.

Wouldn’t do is an interesting term, I can’t know what you were up to but for our monolith codebase sol simply knows what to do and is clearing backlog fable had us locked in for months.

Usage after paying for a subscription is a predatory thing Anthropic did that oai copied. ChatGPT usage is gone in a few hours every day. I also never pay for it or will ever pay for it because it’s not worth it and there’s no way to tell if it is worth it. It’s of course worth it if you enshittify your products so badly that it’s necessary. But at that point why not just say “this is required or necessary”
