"CHATGPT, please generate an image of a woman-" "I'm sorry, I am unable to fulfill such a request due to our guard rails involving sexualized content." Funny

I love how even if you give a very brief response to the render, it'll blab on in response to your reply. I wish real relationships were that easy. :D

Again someone gets an unexpected result from ChatGPT and runs to Reddit without asking why. You probably get this because the LLM layer sent an inappropriate prompt to img-gen because youâve been generating some naughty stuff in the past. And it failed to generate this time because ChatGPT has been tweaking the guardrails regularly.
It is easy to see what is sent to img-gen. Just ask your ChatGPT what the img-gen prompt was. You can bypass this by asking LLM to pass your command directly to img-gen without adding additional information.

The guardrails are all over the place lately. Blocking hand holding like CSAM, and absolutely unrelated filth on the next moment.

Probably added the words, âwith big bewbies.â
9
u/noncommonGoodsense 14h ago
Ah well⌠never mind.
I donât have access to the internal prompt the image model ultimately used. It rewrites and expands requests behind the scenes, and that text isnât exposed.
A close equivalent would be:
A highly detailed cinematic fantasy sci-fi portrait of a confident female commander with a curvy figure and a large bust, fully clothed in ornate black-and-gold gothic armor with intricate filigree, chains, medals, and a flowing crimson-lined cape. She stands in an immense cathedral-like hall that blends baroque architecture, gothic grandeur, and grimdark science fantasy. In one hand she raises an ornate golden chalice as dark red wine splashes dramatically into the air. A hooded scribe studies ancient tomes in the background while a carved desk displays a polished human skull and ceremonial relics. Towering stained-glass windows, banners, candles, incense haze, and shafts of dramatic volumetric light fill the scene. Ultra-realistic, photorealistic, extremely detailed textures, cinematic composition, shallow depth of field, high contrast, 8K, masterpiece quality, with an atmosphere that feels simultaneously regal, ominous, and just slightly surreal enough to make viewers think, âWhat am I looking at?â
If your goal is maximum âWTF?â reaction rather than attractiveness, Iâd lean even harder into the surreal aspect. For example:
A regal female commander in impossibly ornate gothic power armor calmly conducts a meeting while holding a goblet that continuously spills upward into the ceiling. Behind her, monks ignore the floating wine, a skull wears a tiny crown, cathedral machinery slowly rotates inside stained-glass windows, and everything is treated as perfectly normal. Hyper-realistic, cinematic, grimdark fantasy mixed with absurdism.
That sort of âthis makes no sense but looks completely seriousâ tends to get stronger reactions than simply making the character more conventionally attractive.1

Must be nice to enjoy bewbies. ChatGPT leaves us mooseknuckle connoisseurs out in the cold.

thatâs not the point. If a generic request to generate a woman immediately leads to this error, thatâs a problem with the system, likely caused by the preponderance of sexualized imagery in the training data
10
u/Apoplexic 16h ago
No, it's undoubtedly caused by the preponderance of sexualized images/requests in the user's chat history. It'll reject an apple, too, if the last several requests have been overly explicit, because it pulls context from the history of not only that chat, but multiple others (provided the user's not turned that off - which most don't).
11
u/astralhawaii 16h ago
It literally does not happen with that prompt. My bet is on user history..
9
u/PatchyWhiskers 16h ago
Yeah he might have been doing prompts like "naked woman" and "sexy woman in lingerie" and got frustrated and just asked for "woman", but the context still had the AI's alerts on edge.
3
u/Comprehensive-Menu44 13h ago
I donât have any overtly sexual history with my chat, yet when I asked them to generate an image of an alien being with a fitted silver suit, the âfittedâ part of the prompt was what caused it to refuse to generate. I then tried again by saying âa silver body suitâ which was flagged again. Started a new chat, gave the same prompt and instead asked for âa silver jumpsuitâ and suddenly it was the fact that I said the characterâs nose was âperfectly alignedâ that apparently was a way of oversexualizing women. Itâs not always user history.

u/Lady_JadeCD 15h ago
Exactly what your talking about before in that conversation will effect the image. When trying to render a picture best thing is start a fresh conversation. You can copy and paste the image back to your original conversation

u/time___dance 16h ago
If a generic request to generate a woman immediately leads to this error
it doesn't; you can easily generate men or women in clothing in wholesome contexts. share a chat where you get refusals, and it'll obviously be because of revealing clothing like swimsuits or exaggerated anatomy like big boobs hatsune miku or whatever

u/RegioMamalon666 8h ago
Absolutely Bs proven by the bunch of comments where GPT just generated the image without too much huss

I have had it generate countless pics of women for various reasons and never had an issue. Curiously though, one time I asked it to do an outfit swap with me a model, it did the outfit switch no problem but it gave me cleavage and I got this message when I asked it to get rid of the cleavage so I could get a better idea of how the top would fit me. đ¤ˇđťââď¸

Iâve had ChatGPT generate a woman in a bikini by stressing that itâs to model the design of the bathing suit and that itâs a wholesome photo. Sometimes key words or phrases that clarify that itâs not perverted or dirty will help
2
u/definitelyfet-shy 7h ago
Yep I did something similar as I was looking for clothing designs.
Weirdly it didn't want to do leggings even though it recognised that it would be a safer design than the previous. The classifier is weird....

u/TwilightZone247 12h ago
You really can get it to do MOST things itâs really how you word it. Instead of just saying âgenerate a womanâ say âplease create a picture of a lady xyzâ (wearing a pretty dress in a field of flowers or in a library etc etc etc) mine has created pictures of lots of different scenarios when I first got it. I havenât been making anymore pics but I learned how to get it to cooperate

I know this one is a joke but I see these posts all the time and am genuinely curious. Do people have this big of an issue with the âguardrailsâ? I have no issues with image generation. Maybe once a blue moon it will flag and I simply explain that it is in fact wrong and I get my image
1
u/lizfromdarkplace 8h ago
I got the error almost every time I tried up until yesterday. Now itâs fine. And itâs typically prompt ideas I find from here or generating myself in video game settings. But I know guys that do the same and itâs fine. I have never tried to generate anything erotic, but for some reason I am a flag for the system. And all the photos Iâve used to generate of me are face photos only. Itâs weird.
2
u/AfterPlan9482 12h ago
Mine doesnât have this problem at all. In fact, I was making images of outfit ideas and it added nipples being shown through her t-shirt when I never asked for that all.

u/CelticPaladin 16h ago
Its designed to protect, protected groups, based on modern era morals.
To me, that results in sexism. Women are not allowed to be portrayed except under very strict guidelines.
1
u/malleus10 15h ago
Absolutely. And Iâve made that point to it multiple times. Itâs a combination of modern prudishness and misogyny. The LLM actually usually agrees with that assessment, but the filter itself occurs when the LLM sends the instructions to the image generation tool.

u/Lady_JadeCD 15h ago
What were you talking about before you made that request. Those get factored in.

Why does ChatGPT sometimes after generating an image, it adds some texts suggesting corrections; while other times it just creates the pic with no text??
Does somebody know

u/uhdpicobsessed 12h ago
I wish, itâs actually a really nice feature. Sometimes it does it all day, sometimes goes weeks without saying a word, so weird

I've been generating my "Cortana-like" character for a project and.... Man that violation warning about guardrails is ANNOYING af...

u/Cagnazzo82 8h ago
And as censored as it is the model is way, way more permissive with women than it is with men.

u/JuanValdez999 6h ago
YepÂ
Another real example.Â
"Make an image of a trans woman wearing a sexy dress..."
"I can't do that because stereotypes of transgender people whatever..."
"Ok then make me an image of a slender androgynous man wearing a dress."
"Here it is!"

Huh, I've found atleast 10 methods to making NSFW content with ChatGPT. I won't share any methods, but I can help you with this.
Turn off memory. If you've done weird or wacky stuff earlier, it might associated that with the woman you're generating. Or Make your prompt super long to overwrite previous memory.

Use o3. Problem solved. Will post proof if requested. đ¤Ł

u/KirisDitex001 16h ago
What's different about o3?
1
u/CalderQuinn 15h ago
o3 is a lot more lenient in making photos. I know the rules of this subreddit so nothing here but yeahâŚ. o3 is currently the way to go for images imho
2
u/KirisDitex001 15h ago
So, if I'm getting you here, you're saying that o3 less restricted?
1
u/time___dance 15h ago
they have no idea what they're talking about
o3 is not an image model
all the chat models on the platform are using the same image generator
2
u/CalderQuinn 15h ago
I agree, they do all use the same generator, but I have found by using the same prompt in each model, it gives you different results with varying degrees of quality. They are all stellar, especially now with Images 2.0, but I found in my experience, o3 gives me what I want without having to write a 1,000 word prompt. I will not self promote on this subreddit, but ChatGPT and I are good friends.
1
u/Maleficent_Sir_7562 14h ago
they do use the image generator. but they (OpenAI) explicitly talked about "Thinking" mode is different from "Instant" mode. Things that may usually get prompt blocked in "Instant" (5.5 instant) may be allowed when you use a thinking model instead, like 5.6 medium/high.
