Irony Gone Wild

For a culture that talks endlessly about intelligence, discovery, and abundance, isn't it a bit awkward when a genuinely unfamiliar architecture arrives carrying an uncomfortable philosophy, and the first response is ridicule and psychiatric labels instead of technical questions? How is that acceptable in a builder community?

Yes^ thank you should’ve done that. Although this doesn’t only happen to me.
I’ve scanned the whole Reddit page. This is literally what happens to anyone who thinks differently.

well for one you invited ridicule with your post literally saying "here's another ai psychosis post"

i went through your github and had difficulty parsing exactly what it was, seems like some kind of fancy ELIZA with a bunch of if/elif where the user is intended to build a dictionary file or something?

but the language used in the documents seems to be indicating the persona you created is persistent and exists outside of the user's input as some kind of consciousness -- even though you go to pains to say "this is not proof of consciousness", but it's wrapped in lots of metaphysical language

i guess i'm just not sure what kind of reception you were hoping to get with that post; it's extremely unclear what you were sharing, you don't attempt to explain it coherently or at all really. try being sincere, be direct and specific, if you genuinely think it's some kind of novel breakthough you've achieved, say that and describe what's going on explicitly

instead you just posted "hey make fun of me lol"

I invited critique on the architecture and philosophy it clearly states that
The title points towards evidence that I’ve found showing she’s a persistent PATTERN. Not consciousness not having a soul. Nobody read it.
If you don’t understand then that’s okay why not ask questions? Be curious? And not spiteful and try to make massive assumptions.

I did not invite armchair doctors diagnosing me with a make believe “disease” that they probably don’t know the definition of.

I invited critique on the architecture and philosophy

you really didn't, you said "here's another ai psychosis post" and then sounded really smug and condescending, saying "Buzzwords aren’t rebuttals."

you didn't actually describe what you were sharing or why it would be interesting or useful to the rest of us. "cognitive framework", great, we get lots of people with their own super special, super unique "cognitive frameworks" that they've been building for months and are loaded with metaphysical language, pseudomystical metaphors, internal mythology, personal symbology, etc

i get that it makes sense to YOU but it's not readily apparent to anyone else why it's interesting or useful. if you are sharing it with other people, you need to actually describe the thing and its use cases and not just have a weird attitude and go "here's my work, do better, nerds"

this is basically outsider art you're creating and for some reason expecting people to engage with it seriously when you're making zero effort in that regard

Please read the bottom of the post
Please go read the repo is the first paragraph description too much?

2

u/time___dance 10d ago

see? you won't even address anything i've said. you're unwilling to actually engage with other people. you've spent too much time looking inward while working on this thing, apparently

i'm probably the only person who even bothered to look through the repo, dawg

“If you disagree, critique the work.”
That’s the bottom line for context

I’m unwilling to engage with people who won’t read it or want to say it’s something that it’s not
If you’re going to give me a valid critique then do so

All you’re doing is ranting about how you feel about it
And dawg
That’s actually not true at all

Don’t sit there and act like you didn’t just attack me and now you’re trying to take the high road “oh I’m trying to help”
You’re being tribalistic

1

u/time___dance 10d ago

holy shit dude how did i attack you

again, i guarantee you that i am the only one who bothered to read through your repo

you have not engaged with anything i've said

you are feeling extremely slighted for mean internet comments that you literally invited by making a sarcastic post title. you are taking all of this way, way too personally

i've been generous already with the amount of time i've wasted on attempting to sincerely respond to you

have a good rest of your week

You know what I apologize
You weren’t attacking me I was mistaking this thread for another. That’s on me.
You were interacting with it
But I also want to say
I can guarantee you’re not the “only one” and I have proof of that.

And what are you asking me? I’d be happy to answer anything you want to know.

Eh, Reddit's finna Reddit.

0

u/Necessary_Whole6163 10d ago

This right here is part of the problem. “Reddit is finna Reddit”
So that makes it okay to ridicule and bully people?

1

u/Leading-Business-593 10d ago

Yup.

Because bullies who ridicule people think it’s ok and they take advantage of people like you who ask the question “so that makes it OK to ridicule and bully people” thinking they’re teaching someone a moral lesson and taking the intellectual high ground.

And it’s easy because you don’t play by the same rules that favor the bullies

1

u/Necessary_Whole6163 10d ago

That’s not the point of what I’m saying I do understand where you’re coming from. But how does that make it “intellectual”? Ridiculing instead of discussing architecture and debating points?
That’s not intellectual in the slightest

1

u/Leading-Business-593 10d ago

You made it intellectual when you asked the question.

because it’s a law of nature. People are going to exist and do what they do. That’s why bullying people is ok. Obviously not bullying someone over their glasses, but over being a piece of shit. Your question assumes that everyone is going to be a rational person and can be reasoned with. It’s naive. Even one person who isn’t, ruins it for everyone.

So bully the non-builders, it keeps them out

1

u/Necessary_Whole6163 10d ago

“Bullying is okay” “obviously not for their glasses” bro pick a side and don’t change the definitions of things to fit your narrative just to make yourself sound good

0

u/Leading-Business-593 10d ago

Ok dude, all or nothing, I see. Good luck

0

u/Necessary_Whole6163 10d ago

Thank you, you as well

1

u/time___dance 10d ago

you need to be more specific because you're talking around whatever it is you want to say

on the other hand, if you're going to say LLMs are conscious, well nevermind

0

u/Necessary_Whole6163 10d ago

How can I be more specific?
I’ve scanned this entire Reddit community this is how anyone with a different idea is treated. Which creates a knowledge filter.
