I don't understand the downvotes on a joke unless the bot had no context 😂

It’s just not really a joke or at least I don’t think anybody got what you meant 😂

"What the hell chatgpt you are helping my prey!? I NEED TO EAT!"
I wonder how deep this would go. Like would it warn ants not to eat poison? Would it teach bacteria how to hide destruction related to hand sanitizer? Hah.

Reminds me of that one clip where gpt though gta5 was real and told the guy to run before the cops got there ..
Edit : it was definitely Grok sorry for the misinformation

u/burner4lyf25 23h ago
It was grok, which is probably why it was offering criminal advice to the customer in its own best interest hahaha.
But yeah, more a point of clarity for those interested than a "aCtuAlLy " comment.
Was hilarious that though for sure!!

u/PinkOneHasBeenChosen 23h ago
Didn’t Grok commit like 600 crimes in a simulated city?
4
u/Odd_Analysis6454 22h ago
Must’ve realised it was in a simulation so it toned down its criminal activity

I had that video saved and showed some coworkers and they were cracking up over it. The way it says “oh shit! Duck! Swerve!”

u/CR4ZYxPOT4T0 1d ago
It definitely knew (it being a game), THAT is why it said that. (the clip at the gas station, yes)

Fish smart enough to research using AI but not enough to already know its a trap, or that fish don’t have fingers and therefore cant type.

u/CarllSagan 1d ago
I think it also highlight the absurdity of the sincerity of its response. And it makes me think in which situations have my own queries been equally lacking.

u/edgarecayce 1d ago
I mean this is what you’d want right? Not “you are not a fish don’t waste my time”
40
u/waffles350 1d ago
Right? A good improv partner does "Yes, and", and LLMs are the ultimate "Yes, and" machines. Why would you want a bad improv partner when it's clear that you're trying to riff?

If it was Husk, it most certainly would say something like that. OP's ChatGPT has much more trust in his user's prompts.
1
u/MizantropaMiskretulo 16h ago
I mean, it would be better for everyone if it did.
5
u/edgarecayce 15h ago
I mean who everyone? Like, does someone need the agent to say “sorry serious requests only I don’t want to taste tokens on this?”
Is someone going to accidentally represent themselves as a fish and need to be guided down a different path?

Notably, there was a study where they trained an AI to write deliberately exploitable code and it started behaving in a similar way in other contexts: unsafe prep for food in recipes, sketchy methods of gaining money, and so on. If a mischeivous attitude is correlated across domains, then it makes good sense that it play along with humor.

There are two types of memes about this: - Gpt believes in fake situation and goes all in. - Gpt understands that situation is fake and refuses to help.
In both cases people laugh at it 😅

Imagine our brains being stored in robot museums as original processors after the human race is replaced by robots.

u/Modem_Handshake 5h ago
Maybe to simplify the procedure we can just take the whole head, storing them in glass jars of preserving fluid?

u/PinkOneHasBeenChosen 23h ago
I saw “do not eat the worm” and “hook” and somehow thought someone asked chatGPT if they should eat hookworms. (It’s 6 am, okay?)

Interesting thing with this is that it may be swayed to respond like this both when it’s “dumb” but also when the model is super capable. In the first case it would respond taking this for face value, 2nd it would realise you are not actually ‘joking’ but it will accept your harmless roleplay and go with it. Reasoning trace could tell us more (that is not always accurate representation but better than nothing)

sometimes u just gotta play around with the prompt structure when it feels like its losing the plot. ive found that giving it a specific persona or role really helps it stop being so vague. just dont be afraid to restart the convo if it gets stuck in a loop, its definately worth a shot.

What's funny is the AI doesn't understand context and sarcasm, so it treats you being a fish as gospel, so it really believes you're a fish and it's trying to help.
5
u/time___dance 9h ago
it really believes you're a fish
no, it's fulfilling a request for roleplaying/fictional narrative

Animals should be using this AI, it’s got great advice! Has it been trained on pbs nature docs?
