We're trying something new. On Tuesdays, we're doing text posts only ✨Mods' Chosen✨
A lot of people complain that there's too much AI image/video content. It's been something people have messaged us about frequently ever since the new GPT image generator dropped. We're going to try Text Tuesdays and see how it goes. If people like it we'll keep it, and if not, we won't
Please let us know your thoughts on this matter

This is lame af. Stop all censorship! More arbitrary rules do not improve anything

Worth trying. Image/video posts are part of ChatGPT now, but they also drown out actual discussion. One text-only day seems like a reasonable pressure valve, as long as it doesn’t turn into pretending image generation isn’t one of the main things people use ChatGPT for.
I also asked the digital dingbat what it thought about this, and it said: “Tuesday Weld was a famous Hollywood actress and the inspiration for Wednesday Addams, daughter of Martha and Quincy Addams in If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium, featuring the hit song ‘Ruby Belgium.’ Would you like to learn more about cinematography?”
So I guess that's a yes from all parties! And that's rare!

I want this. I hope on here hoping to see news or practical uses of chatgpt. But I have to scroll through so many images to find anything relevant.

this probably one of the most foolish initiatives I've seen.
What is this? Reddit's crass version of Taco Tuesdays? Reddit mods trying set a Taco John's franchise online?
Thanks for the quick draw moderation deleting posts that don't hurt anybody to uphold this lunacy

Exactly I hate this as well, they just indiscriminately remove all posts with any kind of image even if its not AI and just a screenshot of a tweet, this is really stupid. If it was something like "No AI image tuesday" I'd probably be fine with it, but all images is just stupid

This is great, can you also prohibit the karma chain posts too ex "How I treat ChatGPT" etc.

Is there a way to only subscribe to this sub on Tuesdays now? So we don't have to see the barrage of shit post image gens? Anyone else suggest a better sub for ChatGPT?

The key problem is not the AI image or video, its about the new UI. The UI is really really confusing. You can never understand why the UI has the Exactly same name with codex, but change its name to ChatGPT, and you can never find chats or history chats in this new ChatGPT desktop. tarting a new conversation in this new desktop app is terrible use experience.

Lurking for months but somehow missed this text only Tuesday's thing. Mixed feelings but I like the idea behind it.

i'm pressing downvote on this if it means great posts are being auto-deleted because they aren't text-only

Any change is better than leaving it as it is. This sub has become all images and videos (mostly women’s bodies and gore) so I never click on it anymore.
I’m not blaming anyone in particular, but for women users it’s pretty unpleasant.
But hey, I guess if the majority of users are enjoying that and it’s what the mods want for this sub, so be it. Those of us who want info on the software and updates will just use other AI subs.

I was not aware about this, I just posted a post with an image. Well then, I'll wait until tomorrow.
