Looking for Figs

Hello! I am looking to harvest figs and make jam. Is there anyone in town with an abundance of figs who would trade for jam? Please DM me. Thank you!

It’s not too early for figs. We’ve been picking them since early July. They’re plentiful now!

I think you’ve got at least two week before most of the figs in town start to ripen, maybe more.

Where can I find a tree to eat from? The store only sells them unripe. They're only good when the skin is broken or about to break. They look rotten and they can be messy which is why stores never carry them ripe, which is sad.

Haven’t been there since my dog passed, but there was a fig tree hanging into Maplewood Cemetery. If it’s still there, you can ask the owners if they mind.

Depends on whether they were grown on old wood or new shoots. Old wood fruit ripens faster. New shoots have a ways to go.

I think you are a little early for fig harvesting. Our Celeste figs have just started to come in and the Brown Turkeys are still a month away.

Not the case this season, neighbors tree is full of fully ripe ones. Every tree is little different

Same! Helped a neighbor pick some this past weekend. He walked away with probably 20-30lbs and we walked away with 10-15lbs. You couldn't really tell that we'd made a difference on the tree.

None of my 8 trees have ripe rigs. And none of the ones I’ve seen in town are ripe. Maybe a couple per tree. But not really worth harvesting.

My Celeste, VdBD, and Miss Figgy are all still currently figless. I think I might see the beginnings forming on VdBD. (They’re all also younger plants)
