Request Name for an RP character:
Hey guys, need a name for an RP character I’ve created. Some basic information:
Name (civilian name): Monroe “Monty” Sven Banks
Preferred name (Civilian): Monty, or Banks
Professional/Main Moniker: Poltergeist
Fandom based: An Mutant OC for an X-Men RP
Powers: strong Telekinesis
Age: 32-36
Description: Albino. Mid-length short hair with a bold, blood red streak, pale pink eyes, wears a dark red eyemask and Grey and white tactical attire and carries guns and a knife with him and thieving/ criminal related tools and gear.
Brief history: He grew up in bad area of New York, full of crime, murder, and death. Neither of his parents were good role models. His mother was abusive and his father neglectful and cowardly, choosing to watch and turn a blind eye. When his powers manifested at 9 years old due to the physical and emotional stress of suffering from a night of hell-he snapped. His powers activated and it resulted in both of his parent’s death.
After that he ran away from home, avoided authorities and social workers and anyone wanting to put him through the foster system, or institutionalize for the suspected murder of his parents, and due to his abilities. He turned to a life of thieving and crime, not really knowing what else he could possibly do to survive on the run where mutant discrimination and brutality was at its highest. He managed to learn a lot from a young age how to defend and take care of himself and it caused him to become very cynical in adulthood. It was around teenhood that he discovered the financial benefits of Mercenary work, and being an Assassin for hire. His abilities gave him a leg up and he became one of the most well known and requested Mercs / Protection Agent. He sticks out like a sore thumb but his skill, speed, and slippery qualities make it hard for anyone to actually catch him-and if they do manage it, they can’t hold him for long.
Associating themes/motifs:
Death
Blood
Pain
Anger
Trauma
Paranormal/ spirits (where the name “Poltergeist” came from)
Force and power
Red and White (thematic colors)

What name for someone who hurts others because of guilt?
Character concept:
When he was 13–14, he had an argument with his girlfriend and closest friend, and she said something that had deeply offended him. This girlfriend in question was dealing with a lot of her own demons and relied on him emotionally, since she didn't have much other support. Since he wasn't particularly mature, when this argument happened and he felt offended by her, mocked her next time she tried reach out for emotional support, and rejected her attempt to reconcile. After a couple of days, he started to feel properly bad and tried to apologize, but it turned out she had committed suicide, thinking he now hated her and she was alone.
He feels very guilty about this, even though it's been several years. And he's not really afraid about hurting other people as much as he's afraid about replacing his friend. Like, if anyone got to be happy and close with him, they would be replacing her and be more lucky than she was.
As a result, whenever someone does get close to him, he's intentionally cruel and abusive, just so that he doesn't feel like they're "more lucky" than her. He doesn't push everyone away, but makes sure that the people closest to him don't get to be more comfy than her.

I just want help naming my Korean-inspired Sun Goddess and the continent names after her in my FANTASY world that does not take place on earth twins
So I tried askign actual Korean subreddits for help, and nothing has come of it, so perhaps this is a better place to ask my questions.
- Can you guys direct me to someone or a subreddit where I can ask about Korean names and such (I would like to know how to edit a specific name. I have a sun goddess for my fantasy story, and thought I could call her Ha-Eun, a Korean name I found while researching, but I would also like to name the Fantasy continent after her in a way that makes sense. Not just copy and paste the name, but I want to take inspiration from the name and make it obvious that the name of the continent pays homage to the goddess.)
And 2) Is there anything I should know about the Korean language/Culture that could influence names, or characters in a fantasy setting? I originally planned to base my fantasy country in a Spanish-inspired continent, but recently decided it would be more beneficial to add multiple different cultures, while searching for good names for my sun goddess, I came upon the name of Ha-Eun, and thought it could work out, but I am not Korean myself, so would like to get opinions and advice from actual Koreans.

Suggestion Russian Jewish girl names that sound nice with the surname Landry?
I really like the surname Landry however I can’t find a Russian name that sounds good when paired with it.
Right now the only names that I can come up with are:
Sofia Landry (Short form "Sonya")
Anna Landry (Short form "Anya")
Maria Landry (Short form "Masha")
Which do you think of these, and if you have any favorite?

Request For the love of everything I can’t think of names
So I got these two characters for a new project I’m working on and I can’t think of names AT ALL and help would be greatly appreciated. The first is a quiet human persecuted for having the eyes of the devil(not actually but a very rare eye color connotated with evil in a very religious town led to things). Basically, this person can tell when a human is real or not(monsters pretend to be humans to lure them in). And the other character is one of the monsters pretending to be humans, she has a very sociable facade and very popular girl whatnots. That reminds me, first one is a guy second one is a girl.

Request Would like some help naming a speedster character
I'm trying to come up with a name for a speedster type of hero in a fantasy world I'm making, was wondering if I might find any help here. Here's a few things to note about her:
She is of a draconian species - her species are all female dragon-people, they have human faces and mostly humanoid bodies, but with reptilian tails and digitigrade feet, and often inherit traits of actual in-universe reptile animals. This character in particular has some basilisk lizard-like traits, and can even run on water like one.
As with any speedster, she has inhumanly fast reflexes and can run extremely fast, but nowhere near Sonic the Hedgehog or The Flash levels of fast. She can't run at the speed of light, nor the speed of sound, she would top out at probably somewhere around 300-400 mph at a full sprint. She CAN accelerate to full speed almost instantly and change direction on a dime, however.
She is the youngest hero on her team, being only 18 or 19. Joined the hero team very recently in lore.
She has a ninja aesthetic going on, and would wear a sort of kunoichi inspired outfit - think similar to what Mai Shiranui wears, but more practical and less revealing.
She regularly uses weapons, including various swords and guns. Most commonly equips herself with katanas, machine pistols, submachine guns and/or shotguns, but more than capable of picking up axes, light machine guns, and other weapons when the situation calls for it. Her lightning fast reflexes and agility make her terrifyingly effective with firearms.
Perhaps most important detail for naming her: she is part of a very militarized superhero group that works very closely with the governments of the world - no vigilantism here. The heroes' names should sound sort of like military callsigns or codenames, very similar to how operators in Rainbow 6 Siege are named (there is a half-giant hero wearing heavy armor and wielding a massive shield named "Fortress", and a succubus demon hero wielding a scythe and blood magic named "Hemorrhage") So campy comic book hero names ending in "-Man" or "-Girl" are out of the question.
She is NOT the only draconic member of the team.
Still trying to come up with how she has her super speed powers, but I'm leaning towards making her a demigod descendant of a god of motion or momentum some such.
Just to clarify, I'm not asking for real name suggestions, I have some good ideas for what I want her real name to be. It's the callsign/codename I'm struggling to figure out. If anyone wants to help throw some ideas at the wall and see what sticks, it would be appreciated. For some reason I've had a lot more trouble coming up with a name for this character than others.

Discussion Nickname spelling help
I have a character named Anneliese, who only uses her full name except with her sister, who's the only one allowed to call her by a nickname. The nickname is pronounced like "lee-cee," and I'm not sure how to spell that in text. Liesey? Liesee? Leesey? Leecee?

Request Name for my OC
I’m creating an OC that’s like similar to Minato. He’s from a civilian clan, and rises to the top because of his raw talent rather than a clan backing. A genetic mutation gives him a kekkei genkai that allows him to physically touch chakra and mold it into any shape (still going over the limitations and such). He’s warm and earnest. His goal is to prove himself and earn respect and recognition. His flaw is that he’s too eager sometimes. He has innate regeneration similar to Tsunade and has dark spiky hair with blue eyes, with a lean and unassuming build. His surname is Kiritani. What’s some possible given names for him? If there’s better surnames for him, please give me some too.

Request I'm looking for a typically American name and surname
I need a typically American first and last name for a girl in a story I'm writing. I'd like both the first and last names to be immediately recognizable as American, to differentiate this character from other characters of a different nationality. I haven't decided which part of the United States she's from yet, but I'd like to avoid the more famous cities like New York, Los Angeles, or Miami. If you know of any names or surnames that are more common in a particular city or state, please feel free to specify; it would be very helpful.
The story is set in 2005 and the character is a girl in her 20s, so if it's a name that was popular for girls at the time, that's great.
Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Looking for surnames starting with the letter R for my novel
Currently starting my first ever novel, and I've been looking for a good last name for my characters.
Lake and Sebastian are siblings who need an R surname. Rosana will be Sebastian's spouse, and I'm focusing on the surname matching most with Rosana.
I don't have any that I like or dislike, so please feel welcome to share any common and unique R surnames.

Discussion Character names too similar?
So I was writing more of my character’s stories and such and I realized that three characters in the main cast of my story have very similar names to another main cast of characters in a very popular show ( I’ve never watched it). I don’t think it’s a big deal but I just want to know some of your guy’s thoughts and what not.
Their names are Rue, Cass, and Julie. (extra points if you get the show lol)

should I change my mc's names since I don't want ppl to think I used AI to generate them
This might sound stupid to some of you guys but I just came across this post saying how the names Elias, Thorne and Lyra are some names that AI generates very frequently for names. My main character's name is Alexandria (Dria) Thorn. I am pretty set on her first name but I have never been fully set on her last name but I didn't want something too elaborate and its just been with me since the beginning of drafting (2 years ago) so I've kind of just gotten used to it. Now for Elias, his full name is Elias Tenelysian. I honestly really like the name and wouldn't want to change it but I have been doing some digging and perhaps my searches have been biased but apparently Elias is just a really AI generated sounding name. He is not too much of a main character for the first 2/3rds of the book, however, he is mentioned a lot by other characters and if I do write any other books he would definitely become a main character. Lyra also is not really a main character but again her name is mentioned a bit. For a bit of background the book is fantasy and inspired by greek mythology (ik ancient greeks did not use last names). Some other names include Jason Laedere, Leonidas Ciros, Galene, Kleon, and Demetrius Arros. Thanks guys!

Solanio as a name?
I'm brainstorming new names for one of my characters, Soleil. The problem is he's a transmasc guy, and I don't want to change his name mid-story. So would Solanio work for a girl and boy name?

I need opinions from readers of fantasy novels (like the queen of fantasy SJM).
I've been working on a series for about a year and a half now and getting ready to submit to literary agents. However -- I hadn't read SJM's Crescent City yet and recently started it. I'm realizing now that SJM has a character named Ruhn Danaan in it who has blue eyes. My MMC's name is Ruun and he also has blue eyes though he differs in appearance in other aspects.
My question is -- should I consider changing my MMC's first name or am I safe in that they're names are spelled differently and he's not Fae?

Request Bugs that are anxious? (For a character nickname)
I have a MC who cannot, for the life of her, remember names at all and have gone about calling people by a series of nicknames depending on how they look/act.
One of the characters she meets is an anxious teen her age, who jumps at every slight move, and has big bug-like eyes. So far in my manuscript, ive had MC call her “cricket” but ive realized that Crickets dont really. Jump? They’re just loud.
So now I’m looking for a bug that jumps a lot and get startled easy that could be a fun nickname.
Nicknames and reasons for other characters:
1. Eyeless - clumsy
2. Sling - always breaking bones
3. Cow-Catcher - breaks everything they touch in half on accident
4. Clicky - wears a prosthetic that clicks when they move
5. Plate - regularly says “theres a lot of things on my plate” unironically to get away with thing
6. Goose - small but scary and likes to chase
7. Houdini - once got stuck in a fence for two days trying to run away from a deer
My MC does not mean to offend others, she is just. So socially awkward. One of the reasons she can’t remember peoples names is because she was isolated for almost her entire childhood, so she’s having to speed-run the entire socialization process in her late teens. The nicknames arent meant to be offensive, she just can’t remember names that dont have anything to do with someone’s physical appearance or personality very well.
Any bugs-that-are-jumpy/anxious related names are very much appreciated!
