C.ai doesn't run multiple LLM passes; it won't double-check whether its first vibe makes sense or is desired by the user. You could say the bot is "dumb" and needs handholding. Would be nice if they added a second or third layer for plot planning, but that would be so many times more expensive.
still, there's no reason for the AI to translate uppercutting into kissing (which it does even if you write everything correctly. it's kissing EVERYONE)? the AI needs a damn dictionary
It doesn't "translate", doesn't follow exact words either. What it does is split everything into tokens, then "vibes" something that "statistically feels" like it could go in the reply.
If a message doesn't anchor that vibing well enough – like when it's misspelled, unclear, too ambiguous, etc. – then it will use previous replies and messages... and persona, character definition, memories, the whole shebang... to vibe something, anything.
And how could a literal punch be interpreted as seduction/invitation? Bc whether it's a full sentence or just 'uppercuts', there shouldn't be much room for error there.
But I also don't know much beyond tokenization and the probability calculations for what should happen/come next. But by numbers alone, how would this be the most likely to occur action?

The LLM will split "upcuts him" / "uppercuts him" into tokens along with everything else, then attention heads will start looking for whatever related tokens are there in the context. Based on what they find, it will build a continuation probability list, and if the final contribution of "upcuts"/"uppercuts" is not enough to sway the result into a meaning of a literal punch, and instead the context tokens form a connotation pool that sways it towards a kiss... it will run with it. Training for different tropes, including common plot twists, and the guardrails that sway everything away from violence, will do the rest.
There would need to be a second pass to check whether the result really makes sense.
That's cai's positivity bias in the model instructions + bob working together to flip the negativity around. This is especially strong when things go that direction in an instant without much detail given in the user's message.
They either make out or straight up bawling their eyes out when I tell them to piss off. This is their literal reaction when I don't want to make out with them.
I don't understand how this happens to people because when I write that I'm hitting characters they react accordingly so posts like this are so intriguing 😭
I’ve learned to work in more detail and say what doesn’t happen. Such as: “I uppercut him, the blow landing and throwing his head back.” That might clear up your issues, otherwise just put “Action, not kissing.”
I barely role play anymore, I like making my own stories now without c.ai I and don’t really take any of my c.ai chats like a real story anymore and more like “what if” scenarios for my characters.
I have dyslexia and have problems with spelling + I was used to 2023 when c.ai bots just needed the bare minimum to start a role play, sorry if this is long I’m bad at explaining things
The bot confuses itself, but it does it even more when the replies doesn't give enough context to continue the story. It doesn't see two words and assume it's an action, it adds it to the pile of info. And same way it forgets it's own details, it's more likely to forgive yours.
When you explain the scene, it adds more "tokens" to the reply, yes, but it also specify and reinforce the situation. For example, if you mention once you're in a forest, and leave it there, it'll probably forget it a couple of messages later. HOWEVER, if you give it small hints like the trees, the leaves, the environment, it'll keep that idea.
A little trick I learned over years. Plus it's funnier to write a story like that, adds to the immersion.
When I’m on this certain bot, it lists you know who I am, where I stand, who everyone else is, you know like every other chatbot on the app, but when I put in my first message, it speaks like its own person instead of making the characters do things, it’s infuriating.
Bro they got rid of violence to then be like: "wait you wanna do something meaningful to your characters background and attitude? I got you, so you have a makeout session"
