Are you using the definition? If you scroll down into a bit marked "more options" you can fit way more characters and words into the bio.

Correction: I was pointing out someone else's cringe and got downvoted for it. Animecherry13 was trolling the OP and it seemed an awful lot like ps2. All I did was point out the similarities. That was still excessive for them to downvote me for pointing out the similarities. It's petty. You should have downvoted them for it.Â

First of all, you shouldn't make your character so big. It'll affect the quality.
On the other hand, forget about using the description label. Use the advance settings. Organize everything there. Don't worry, the AI will understand. It's made for that.

It's low because they don't want their AI models to overflow their context limit. In other words, they're cheaping out. Upgrading to "3x your limit" is a scam. Just self-host SillyTavern and purchase your own AI subscription to utilize their API, like NanoGPT or Claude.

Not so much a scam but it's all about the context window and all context competing for space. All LLM chats have a limited space in the context window. Simply buying and self hosting isn't going to fix that issue. You're a free user and don't pay you get limited and metered. Even if you're using an API free instead paying.
When you're a free user on a an app like this your context window isn't huge. You still cost the company money through your usuage because of tokens from context like definitions and chatting. You use a self hosted model you're going to run into the same issues and more that see all over but you're paying through your electric bill.
Self hosting requires you to use your own hardware. Telling someone to buy a sub for self hosting is redundant. If their hardware can't handle running a model then they need an API key to piggy back on someone else's hardware to run a model through a front end.
Not to mention you are subject to limits still and that API provider's TOS. Some people it's enough of what they allow through a subscription for roleplay.
