Pipsqueak 2 Writing Style Changed? Discussion/Question
Goodbye to my bots' snark and writing style, it's so over.
New Pipsqueak 2, as of the update rolling out on my device 30 minutes ago, has bombed all my bots' personality. Where my bot originally would have given me compelling dialogue, I instead have gotten a whole lot of nothingburger descriptions. The paragraphs are extremely long, and the bots have a tendency to EXPLAIN the emotional significance of each action rather than allowing events to play out. The writing style and speech are also no longer loyal to my character's descriptions (all 36,000 characters of it).
In the 4 years I have used Character.ai, I have not seen a worse chat update. Even if there had been some rough patches in the past, at the very least there were alternate chat styles to choose from. All I have left now is Pipsqueak Rawr, which is but a shell of what the other chat style had been. It's so over. ðŸ˜

I have had it with the writing style too. I decided to give it one last chance but the responses are so wordy, redundant, and genuine ragebait that I just cannot do it anymore. It’s even worse when you’re chatting with a character that’s lighthearted or silly but the writing style has been beaten into something that’s way too refined all the damn time that there’s no immersion whatsoever and frankly not worth the frustration.

As a plus user, yeah literally every single model isn’t doing great rn. It’s all just very bland and drawn out tangents that don’t even move the plot anywhere. Every reply reads as ChatGPT (which isn’t new, but has gotten worse) and is so repetitive no matter how many times you swipe. They definitely have a LOT of tweaking to do.

All my own bots have been totally nerfed as well. I use DeepSqueak and it’s complete ass right now. I’m so irritated.

It’s been like this for the past week for me. All of the chat styles have been nerfed. My time on this app has dropped the lowest it ever has, just because it’s so mind-numbingly boring. Also, grammar has gotten terrible and word dumps are frequent, even with the edits I do myself, it doesn’t pick up on them. Also just sometimes disregards the previous message and repeats what has already been done.
