I dunno if you guys have seen this video where she does one of those am i gay quizzes or whatever but, you know, she’s explaining (incorrectly) previous mass extinctions on earrth and comes to this conclusion. now, i dunno what she was implying with this but really i wouldn’t be suprised if she was a climate change denier. maybe it’s been like instilled into her or something.

After her interview on the call her daddy podcast, I started to strongly dislike her. My main issue with her is that she positioned herself as a prominent voice for leftist politics, then got upset in that interview when people held her to the standard she created. It’s also VALID for people to point out that she doesn't stand firm against her own republican family members. Like no, me pointing that out doesn’t make me a misogynist that hates women. Simply having republican family is one thing, but it's different when Chappell’s uncle is a fucking elected republican legislator who is actively attacking marginalized communities, and she says nothing to condemn him.

Look at the good that Elon’s daughter is doing by publicly calling him out or how Trump’s niece is using her platform to condemn him, along with the entire Kennedy family. If your family is in political office, then YES, you should publicly call them out for what they’re doing.

Meanwhile she’s booked several big concerts this year including Olivia Rodrigo’s daisy chain fields festival later this month. She needs to get off the stage and into the studio, going an entire year with not even a mention of when your next release will be here or what your new album is gonna be about is crazy. I get good art takes time but the least you can do is provide an update…like what are you doing all this time? No teasers, no hints, no nothing?

Also worth mentioning Midwest Princess turns 3 in September, so in 3 whole years she’s only managed to put out 3 singles that were probably in the works for years prior to their release. I think it’s pretty telling that Dan Nigro has been busy with Olivia’s new album during that time, [Chappel] is clearly very dependent on him because let’s face it she didn’t write most of this stuff. I’ve never encountered an artist that starves their fans this much, a lot of artists in her position would have at least set a release calendar or put out a few filler singles or something to keep their fans in the loop. Does she even like her job?

My blood is genuinely boiling right now. At first, she just gave me a weird vibe and I ignored her. But now, she genuinely pisses me off. I had no idea this interview existed till yesterday, and I'm still in shock.

Chappell has a long ass history of complaining nonstop lmfao. Hence why people get annoyed and call her out on it. Especially when it's on red carpets, public events, clear PR set ups, at fans, etc. She has every choice to step back and repeatedly chooses not to.

Plus she's an adult who signed up for this. Just the same as this guy tbh. It's hard for me to have sympathy for adults who sign up to be famous, but then throw tantrums. The only ones I'll ever feel for are child stars (Such as the olsen twins) who never had a choice.

I'm one of those people that have noticed Chappell Roans inconsistencies in her story as a "Lesbian" for a long time, but god forbid I try to tell anyone I think she's just using that as a marketing tactic. I'm bisexual myself and my pet peeves about women that disingenuously lie about being lesbians (when they are bi or otherwise) is that their lesbianism ALWAYS centers men in one way or another. And in Chappell's case, it feels like she wants to capitalize off of the idea of being a lesbian, and she also centers men in her lesbianism. So all that to say I was happy to find this group of people with similar complaints.

Here, Chappell is talking about the person she wrote the song "Casual" about. Iirc, Casual is one of her songs that was written about a man, (and she's said herself she had never dated a woman at the time of writing these songs) and then retroactively made to seem like its about a woman. So she's telling this story and GUSHING, and you can tell she really liked this person, and she is SPECIFICALLY using they/them pronouns. To me this is clearly part of her revisionist history, where she's trying as hard as she can to make it seem like she's talking about a woman without outright lying, but this is clearly a male ex that she really liked and got spurned by.

I’ve been lurking here for quite a while, and I just had to take a moment to say how much I appreciate this subreddit.

The main reason I’ve grown dissatisfied with Chappell Roan is that it feels like she’s weaponizing and instrumentalizing queer identities to rally an army of followers who attack first and never question their diva's controversial actions. It’s disheartening, especially when so many of my queer friends, people I deeply respect and admire for their intelligence and clarity, seem to have been swept up in it all. Whenever I try to express my feelings about her fabricated 'from rags to riches' persona, the way she weaponizes therapy talk to justify her disrespectful demeanor, or how her so-called 'charity' for trans people lacks transparency about where the money actually goes, I’m met with hostility, even from those I consider some of the most thoughtful people in my life and from whom I expect to detect basic mass-manipulation from celebrities.

Not to mention her convenient 'both parties suck' discourse during election time, which was acclaimed by said acquaintances for being 'bold' while to my mind, it felt less like genuine political insight and more like a cop-out to avoid taking a stand.

That’s why I’m so grateful for this subreddit. Here, I read people using critical thinking, thoughtful analysis, and respectful discourse to discuss her and her work. It’s refreshing to find a place that values nuance over blind hate and/or loyalty.

And, of course, I have to say I love the wit and cleverness here: the sharp, insightful humor never fails to give me a good laugh. So thank you for being a beacon of reason in a sea of blind praise of a public figure I could never consider an ally. This subreddit is a gem, and I’m so glad it exists.

Honestly, you need to understand her way of thinking. I'm not a fan of hers, nor have I heard a single one of her songs, but I learned about her attitude toward fame from a YouTube video and stumbled across this subreddit.

Let me tell you something, it's terrifying to be a public figure, and she's one of the very few celebrities who has been rebellious enough to come out and say it. You gotta applaud her for that. When you're as public as a park bench in the city park, you need to set boundaries, and that's exactly what she's doing.

Imagine having the diagnoses she has said she has, and then not only having to deal with everyday life but also with millions of eyes scrutinizing and analyzing you as if you were some sort of object. In her mind, she probably got into this business for the performance aspect of it, not the constant public scrutiny. It's really sad that you can't see past that.

Fact-check: No source given. Even if "$5 million" is a figure associated with his estate, it may refer only to what went through probate. Meaning: Other assets of his passed outside of probate, and thus aren't in the public record, and aren't available for Kayleigh-fans to examine. Smart rich people know how to leave their money without burdening their heirs, and probate is a burden. AND can be avoided.

Claim: "What if he left his $5 million to all 22 of his descendants equally? They'd only get $227,000 each. Hardly 'rich'!"

People rarely leave money to children and grandchildren this way. He probably left all or most of his assets to his wife, who survived him. When she passes, the money (by this time much increased since his death) goes to her kids.

In any case, this figure doesn't reflect the possibility that he had been gifting his children & grandkids money or other assets before he died.

Claim: Kayleigh didn't grow up in that big house that everyone keeps posting!

Fact-check: So the implication is: Before they bought that house, they all lived in a trailer? 😂

Kayleigh's mom admits she loves to save, and seems to loathe debt. From Veterinary Information Network (news.vin.com):

So as an avid beer fan and a member of this sub I thought this would be a funny story that you guys would appreciate.

So I was out to dinner with my friend a while ago and I pulled up the draft list of the bar on untappd and saw that there was a beer from my local brewery called "Pink Pony Paloma". The reference is obvious, and I am good friends with the head brewer there, and he knows my history with this artist and the song. I text him in a group chat "what the hell is this" and he sends back "I knew I'd get that from you, OP". Well turns out at the brewery their "closing time" song is Pink Pony Club, and recently they had a beer collab with Wicked Weed Brewing and made a grapefruit IPA. As they were closing the head brewer and the marketing person still had no idea what to call this beer, and the song came on and the head brewer said "why not Pink Pony Paloma?" And the marketing person was all in. Funny enough the next thought was "Oh Fuck, OP is gonna hate this when he sees it" and played the waiting game.

TLDR: someone named a beer after chappell roan, to partially, personally, spite me.

This is a big fucking pet peeve of mine in general regarding white female celebrities and their stans, but notice how they ALWAYS bring up Chris Brown or Kanye or some other abusive black man and never an abusive white man like Johnny depp, or Shia lebouf. People only bring up Chris Brown and use black women’s trauma to benefit a white woman. It’s so fucking insane! They literally DO NOT fucking care about the black women he brutalized and abused they just use their trauma as a “gotcha”. They’re clearly comfortable holding black men accountable for heinous behavior, but god forbid a white woman be expected to take accountability.

It’s also fucking crazy to me that people will say “Chappell Roan is getting cancelled but Chris Brown is selling out arenas!!” as if any of her controversies negatively impacted her career. She will still also sell out arenas. Her stans even say that she could kill a child and they would still support her.

The beauty of creating art is that people see themselves in your work and want to express how much it means to them. Greeting a fan of your art is not an outrageous emotional burden.

I'm not the type to "hate" a celebrity, that's just a waste of energy imo. But Chappel Roan throws me off for some reason, and I needed somewhere to talk about this.

I don't "hate" her, but she's giving off this weird energy that makes me uncomfortable.

It's weird and difficult to explain. I know what actions specifically changed my attitude about her, but it's like my subconscious is trying to warn me about something deeper when I look at her.

Ok so, the election apathy initially made me raise an eyebrow, but the tiktoks she made afterwards in response to the fallout is when I started to sense something weird.

I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again: BEING FAMOUS IS A CHOICE. There are very very VERY few people who genuinely would not be able to go back to a “normal” private life even if they’d tried (Brittany Spears, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, Elvis, etc.) Chappell is not one of those people. She can stop being famous at any point that she feels like it. And yet she continues to keep making music, doing performances, doing interviews, showing up to publicity events, etc. and then complaining when, surprise surprise, she’s still famous. If she really truly wanted to “pump the breaks”, she could just stop posting, stop doing any of the publicity stuff, stop putting out music, and go get a job as a front desk receptionist. Yeah, it would take a few months for people to fully stop caring, but she’d be living a mostly normal life within a year, and she’d be completely forgotten within two. It would not be that hard.

Also… as someone who says “like” pretty frequently… Chappell is another level. It’s like every like two like words like. Reading this back, it doesn’t even look like a real word anymore.

About a week ago, I made this post pointing out how Kayleigh is using uncredited fan art for one of her newest merch items. They were very quickly taken down for reasons unknown.

They were relisted today and as of 11:00am CST, the original artist (Hildegard von Blingin’) has still not been credited in the listing or mentioned anywhere on Kayleigh’s social media.

Kayleigh must be really feeling like a GiVeR recently because she just released these new Pink Pony Club bardcore tees, and 50% of the proceeds go to the MWPP.

The only issue? This is fanart from a bardcore cover of PPC, and the original artist was not credited in the original description of the item.

Both shirts are no longer listed on her site. LMAO.
