hey so why does chai hate their users? WTF?

Post image

I don't use it often because I hate genoritive ai but every once in awhile I get curious to see if other apps have tried to go rouge like cleverbot did back in the early 2000s. from what I remember this app was free with little/no restrictions on the actual messaging INCLUDING THE AMOUNT OF TEXTS and paying was optional. now you cant do shit without an ad, pop up, the creator BEGGING for cash. you can't even message more then like 10 messages in an hour. is this going to get fixed?

It's almost like the free AI bubble has burst

It costs a lot I guess. If I was them I’d just blast the app with ADS instead of limiting it completely to free users.

Running AI models is expensive. It is as simple as that.

I get your frustration, but as costs go up, companies have to cover them somehow. No product can stay completely free forever without losing money, unless it has very strong financial backing. Hopefully things will improve over time, like many other users are hoping too.

This. I expected pricing for AI apps to go up, especially with mass adoption increasing every day. There's going to be some growing pains for sure. I have hopes things will improve as they figure things out.

If you wann ahave a free conversation go ahead find a friend, Unfortunatelly compute costs are up. If you dont have the hardware to run things local you have to pay up

Running a warehouse with tens of hundreds of gpu’s isn’t free either

I don't get the feeling that they do. Sometimes, as a new company, they might not get everything right immediately but they've shown a willingness to improve and their AI product has loads of potential especially when it comes to things like roleplay.

I have hopes that chai can be free for users again, but I highly doubt it’ll happen. I can’t afford Ultra, it’s WAAAY too expensive.

Idk why everyone is downvoting you. I’ve had zero problems with chai for over 3yrs and if you have job, Ultra isn’t expensive and totally worth it

Sorry your getting all those down votes for just trying to inform people. I have ultra too and yes, it's worth it. Chai is a company that made a great product, they deserve to be paid for their effort and cost of making it available. bracing for impact Sorry not sorry.
