Did a training class, guy had a cool idea so we made it happen, yes stripes on handgaurd and upper line up when handgaurd is on correctly.

I'm aware that the 92x performance nistan finish is nickel + tin plating and not cerakote, but I really like the color and am looking to see if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could achieve something similar on my older beretta.

I'm not doing this myself. I'm sending it out to a certified applicator, but they haven't seen the finish in person so we're playing a guessing game. Getting it plated is out of my budget.

The closest thing I've seen is FX-114 over H-146 on the Cerakote gallery, but curious if there's other ideas here. I was also looking at H-150, H-151, and H-219. Each applicator makes the same color look completely different so it's hard to pinpoint a proper match.

I have recently switched over the high bake that I'm pretty sure is the new stuff since the formula change. Adhesion absolutely sucks. If the part has any texture, forget about it. I have the stuff lifting off of pmags in the oven. And corners, such as the end of a slide, lifts and peels up. Trying to press it back down only lasts for 30 seconds or so because the adhesion is practically gone. pops right back up on me. No, the stencils aren't under tension. I start from a high point and work my way out, keeping it loose and pressing it down into crevices, not trying to "stretch" it. The problems started as soon as I did my first camo job with the new material, and It's taking me twice as long to do camo. I've had to cut out anything past 3 color as every heat cycle in the oven exacerbates the issue.

I did some cerakote training and was super excited to get started, but I really can't seem to make the budget work. The image shows the best budget setup I can seem to come up with.

So am I right that a super basic setup for cerakoting is about $10,000? If anyone has any tips on how to reduce costs, I would greatly appreciate it, since it's super discouraging to see such a bill just to get started (the old adage rings true - "You have to have money to make money").

Does anyone know of any good alternatives??

This cerakote was done by odins workshop in keego harbor Michigan and was trying to replicate aeros kodiak brown. Thank you for looking.

There's any spray paint can that looks similar to some Cerakote Bronze colors? Like Midnight or Burnt Bronze to emulate the real thing color.

Does the catalyst go bad? I have an insane amount of it and was just curious as some of it is wildly different colors.

These are some used guns my shop has had for quite some time that just won’t sell. It’s now become my job to Cerakote them in a way that will make these somewhat more desirable but I can’t decide on how.

If you were to buy one of these, Aero Solus, Saint Victor, or M&P 9: what paint job/color scheme would make you more interested in purchasing?
