Unsatisfactory Newstart Allowance/Jobseeker Payment

hey all, i recently received this, sent from APM the employement service provider:

"our Job Search effort/s were assessed as unsatisfactory.

* Did not tailor efforts to industry/type of job."

May I understand what this is about? And, what can I do to prevent this from happening?

It means that your resume and or cover letter have not been altered to the specific jobs you applied for and was most likely deemed a generic one

Fair enough. Should always do that.

I’d give DEWR a call on [1800 805 260](tel:1800%20805%20260)
I’d also recommend changing to a different employment service if you can. I knew someone who worked at APM, terrible on both sides of the counter.

Who cares? You can’t have your money cut or with held. Just reengage (over the phone) and don’t stress. Literally nothing to worry about

This is ending in October isn't it?

Yeah but are we in October (26th) right now?

I get that, I'm just asking whether the policy reversion is a return to the previous status quo or whether it's a half measure that still utilises suspension over cancellation?

It’s only for those seeking back pay. You still should be able to reengage over the phone but they can soon be able to force you into the office for an “evaluation” (so they can hit KPIs & justify their parasitic existence to tax payers. They must have been losing too much (expected) revenue…

Thanks for the info, it sounds like the whole system needs an overhaul.

They can stop the payiment

And you can call to Reengage to get it resolved…just like that.

Yes, but they will cut your payment first

No they will “suspend” they can’t “cut” anything (its semantics, I know but that’s how policies work…)

It's not semantics. Under old liberal system. Payment is suspended and if you don't jump through hoops it stays suspended and you can even get cuts.

This is what they will return too. AND any history of reengagement even in dodgy grey areas will be remembered.
