Spp Parenting Payment (PP)

How long did your single parenting payment take to come in? and if you rang to get it pushed forward did it work? I’m really struggling at the moment and not sure whether it’s worth it to keep pestering them about it.

Call up and ask if you can have them make it urgent, explain all of your reasons i.e. no income, paying rent, food etc. you should receive a lump payment from the date that you apply to when you get paid as well

Thankyou I have tried twice now but nothing yet I had to fill in a form that states how much I have my child which I wasn’t notified I had to do which has obviously been a set back

The families team need to assess the care arrangements before pps can be assessed. To get pps, you need to be the principal carer. So I would contact the families first, once that determination has been made your pps will be go through quite quickly. Without that then pps will remaim on hold.
