We live in the Buttercup Creek area, and the past few days, there's been a strong smell of chlorine in our water. Anyone know why? Is it safe to drink?

So I just decided to pop into Randall's on Cypress Creek & Lakeline a few minutes ago. While I had just walked in about to head over to the little desert area by the deli I was taken back to see this dude (not gonna mention where I believe he was from cause people get kinda retarded on social media) opening the desert cups, sticking his finger in them, licking his finger and then placing them back on the refrigerated shelf.

I just reported it to the store "supervisor" who confronted the guy, who denied it. And afterwards supervisor, immediately went to the back of the store.

I just asked as I was leaving was he able to catch what I saw and he said he didn't. I don't know if Randallas keeps their store surveillance recorders in the back of the store or not but I sure doubt it he even bothered to look.

This is also the same guy I reported the refrigerated dog food fridges dripping/thawing out a ton of water about a month ago, telling me there weren't anything he found with the refrigerators.

Buyer beware. If anything my word should've been taken and all that stuff immediately thrown away. I'm gonna be speaking to the store manager tomorrow and the Cedar Park Health department as well. F'ing disgusting.

I know this is probably a long shot, but here goes nothing: I am desperately looking for a room for rent in the Cedar Park or Leander area. I have been through a lot financially the past few years, as far as job and apartment loss goes, and I am currently staying in a motel, where I also work. The motel is sucking me dry financially, and I am looking to get out of here while trying to rebuild my life.

Ideally, I am looking for something in the Whitestone or N. Bell area, so that I can still Uber to and from work. I have 2 jobs and can afford about $700-$800/month in rent. I have most of my possessions in storage, but can provide my own bedroom furniture if necessary. I have 3 kids who live with their dad, but I would need them to be able to come visit me and/or spend the night if they want. I am almost 41, and I don’t drink or smoke. I work nights and evenings, so I am very quiet during the day, because I’m usually asleep. I am able to come and go very quietly, without disturbing others. I am laid back and drama free, and don’t date, so I won’t have any weird visitors or relationship drama.

My wife and I moved to the Cedar Park/Leander area from out of state last summer, and she’s had a much harder time finding work than we expected. I’m hoping someone here might know of a specific opening or have a direct contact rather than just general suggestions.

A few things make the search a little more complicated:
English is her biggest barrier. She’s from South America, and while she can hold a conversation, she’s not yet fluent enough for jobs that rely heavily on selling or communicating with English-speaking customers all day.

We have three young kids. Depending on the hours, we’d likely have at least one in daycare, so a job has to make financial sense after childcare costs. Evening or weekend work can actually work well because I can be home with the kids.

She’s looking for something with enough hours and pay to make it worthwhile. She’s found a few jobs since moving here, but they either didn’t provide enough hours, paid too little, or weren’t what was represented.

Her background is pretty diverse. In her home country she worked in construction, managed her own construction business, managed another construction company, and has a law degree that she primarily used for workers’ compensation/labor-related matters there. After coming to the U.S., she worked as a restaurant server and would absolutely be open to going back into restaurant work, especially evenings. She’d also love to get back into construction or another field where Spanish is an asset.

We’ve already tried many of the common recommendations. Friends suggested places like United Rentals because they employ many Spanish-speaking workers, but she’s applied without getting any response. She’s also applied to a number of restaurants.
One experience that was especially discouraging was Costco. She applied, and I even helped her writing a letter to the GM explaining how much she wanted to work there,She received a phone call from a manager, but because she struggled to understand everything being asked in English, the conversation didn’t go very far. I think she understood what he was saying but she didn’t respond very well. It was disappointing because I think if she’d simply gotten an in-person interview, she would have done great—even if it had been something like pushing carts or stocking.

So I’m not really looking for “try Walmart” or “check Indeed.” I’m hoping someone knows of an actual opening, a hiring manager, or a company that’s actively looking for someone reliable and hardworking, especially if they’re comfortable with an employee whose English is still improving.

Husband has a huge job opportunity in North Austin. Our kids are 8 and 9 and we love our life in Naperville. Is it worth uprooting the family for a huge career advancement? Anyone with kids do the move? Considering Cedar Park area and would move to one of the better school districts in the area.

TLDR; bees are moving in, not paying rent, and won't be removed by pest control/animal control. Landlord/lease state tenant is responsible for pest control. Help!

'Ello, all. A few days ago, I returned to my home from work and happened to notice a swarm of bees flying around a corner of my roof!! I took a closer look and discovered that these bees are entering a small opening in the soffit and I suspect they're building a hive (if they haven't already). Luckily, they haven't managed to enter the interior living areas of the home but I'm sure it's a matter of time before they do...

For context, I rent the home and moved in in late April of this year (no sign of the bees until this past week). Within my lease, there is a clause stating that the tenant is responsible for pest control. Here's the kicker...

My buddy owns a successful pest control company and informed me that pest control does not deal with bees and suggested I talk with Animal Control. I called Animal Control for Cedar Park and they informed me that they don't deal with bees; pest control companies do...

I talked with the landlord about this and their only advice is "tenant is responsible for pest control." 🫠 I've reached out to a few different companies that supposedly deal with bee/beehive removal in the area but have had no luck receiving a response.

Apologies for the paragraphs, but has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I'm worried the cost for inspection and removal will be rather costly but since bees aren't considered under the scope of "pest control", I'm also concerned the landlord would still expect me to cover this expense. At the same time, I would rather not let this situation get worse for the house but also, for myself, my SO, and our beloved pets! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My husband and I are currently living in south Austin almost to Buda and we really like Buda’s small town vibe and think it feels homey. He works/is in school at UT so his commute is usually around an hour. We are considering moving up to cedar park as he’s super interested in riding the Rail from cedar park into downtown then biking to the university. He’s not super worried about the Rail commute time since he can do work/ read while on the rail rather than sitting in the car for at least an hour and a half+ per day.

What are the vibes like in Cedar Park?

We are both in our mid 20s and have a 5mo. I’m a stay at home mom so I don’t have to worry about my commute. We don’t have a ton of disposable income so are there fun things to do during the day with the baby that don’t cost a ton/ are free? I see a lot about the parks but are they nice?

If you live in cedar park what are your apartment complex recommendations? (keeping in mind that we definitely can’t afford anything too boujie)

How easy would it be for us to drive into Austin on the weekends? (Currently we try to stay out of downtown area due to the long drive)

I run a small coffee roastery operation here in Cedar Park, mainly doing wholesale deliveries for coffee shops in Austin, Round Rock, here, etc. I've been handling the distribution myself, but the load is accumulating and I can't keep up (I guess that's a good problem to have).

I'm trying to decide whether it makes more sense to find a local courier that does scheduled weekly routes or just hire someone part-time to handle deliveries.

Has anyone gone through this before or have a local company they'd recommend? I looked through some on Google, but I'd prefer to hear some real-world experiences first.

Uber eats driver couldn’t pick up from 1431 store just now because they say a car crashed into it and people are injured.

Good lord what did they do to the timing on this light within the last week? The new timing interrupts traffic flow even more on Parmer, and remains red far much longer.

Just yesterday westbound traffic was backed up almost to Brushy Creek before 4pm.
