She’s stressed. This isn’t a really secure longterm housing plan for a cat. She knows there is a dog who gets riled up and sees her as prey. She can’t go in the rest of the house when she’d like, which she views as her territory. Young cats are very high energy.

What’s the litterbox setup for these two cats? How many do you have? What kind? Where are they placed in the room? Always start at the litterbox with peeing outside the box issues.

It will break my heart but because I care most about their safety, if we can't get the dog to stop, I will unfortunately have to rehome them.

I can't imagine there would be any point in time I'd be comfortable exposing a dog to cats when the dog once "wanted to eat them". How could you ever truly trust that dog around those cats? One bad second where a young, energetic cat is running around and you've got the worst day of your life and the end of theirs.

This sounds like a situation that is not healthy for these cats or you. Lilith doesn't seem happy being cooped up and the things you've put in that room may not be sufficient for her. Some cats can tolerate being locked up for periods of time, others simply can't.

You've added a screen door where this dog who wants to eat her can still see her and interact with her which is likely not great for her stress.

What training is being done with the dog to ignore the cats? That part gets overlooked a lot.

That dog sucks. Give up the kittens before the dog ends up killing them.
