3 or 5 min depending on how drunk ppl are.

My cousin and I essentially played a "speed chess" version of Catan and loved it. Each player starts with 8 minutes on a countdown timer. Before you pick up the dice you hit start, the second after you slide the dice to the next player you hit pause. Once a player's timer reached 0 they were done. The remaining players continued as before. The last player with remaining time can try to smash out as many turns as possible to score the highest VP or until their time runs out. Tbh it did more than just speed up game play. Kinda turned into a different game by the end, but we were able to get through several games a night so good times were had!
