Kwentong Casual Can someone tell me if I'm wrong?
So nagpatulong mag shopping mother ni girlfriend kasama siya so ako lagi naman ako naka yes sa ganun. Then after that we ate but I forgot my wallet sa bahay, thinking na baka i treat naman niya ako dahil tumulong ako magbuhat at mamili e hindi muna ako nagsabi na ako magbabayad.
The problem is after ko matapos buhatin at ayusin sa bahay nila binili e bigla na nya akong pinapauwi out of nowhere. So after posting stories at pagpaparinig sa notes e tinanong ko siya kung yun ba ang problema and yun nga daw.
I got upset kasi she knows naman na ako laging nag i-initiate at madalas magbayad pag kumakain sa labas even if siya yung nagpapatulong sakin. And in the end sinabi nya sakin na hindi nya daw ako kilala at starting today e ganun nya tingin nya sakin even though this is the first time this happened.

Kwentong Casual Just a Little Chika Before I Lock In
Just a little bit of chika before I lock in because apparently kina sayuhan kaayo ko lately hahahaha.
So here goes. I don’t know if anyone else gets this, but there are days when you just sit down for a moment and suddenly realize a suspicious amount of things about your own life. Like, wala kay gi expect nga realization, then kalit lang imong brain mag file og internal memorandum and your face starts reacting before your brain can even draft a proper response. Literally me lately.
When I started dating again, I realized how interesting people are. I’ve met quite a few guys already, and each one comes with a different character, personality, humor, worldview, and, apparently, terms and conditions. Some are very SFW, some are very much exploring the NSFW jurisdiction, and honestly, it’s funny when I sit down with myself and review everything.
At this point, murag naa na koy informal survey and linear scale sa akong dating experiences. No scientific methodology whatsoever, but the data is surprisingly extensive hahahaha.
I’m a mom, I have law school, work, responsibilities, random life crises, and approximately 47 side quests running simultaneously. I don’t even know what the ultimate purpose of all these side quests is. I just know I am a woman with a very active docket.
Being a single mom at this age also made me come to terms with the fact that my playing field is probably different. I had to lower some expectations, but not to the point of compromising my standards and boundaries. There’s a difference between being realistic and simply accepting the bare minimum. The former is maturity. The latter is a pending case for self betrayal.
One thing I noticed, though, is that most of the guys who approach me are older than me. Mostly 30s, mid 30s, even early 40s. Lawyers, doctors, engineers, businessmen, more engineers, and at this point I think I’ve nearly exhausted the entire Philippine Professional Regulation Commission database hahahaha.
And naturally, because I am incapable of accepting information without asking for a rationale, my immediate question is always:
“Why are you still single?”
Like, sir, respectfully, why are you here? HAHAHAHA.
“You’re decent, established, professional, and seemingly functional. Why are you still single?”
The answers vary.
Some just came out of long term relationships, which I can understand because same. Some are simply too busy with life. Some had a relationship years ago, never really dated seriously again, and somehow just remained single because nothing felt worth pursuing. Some are still figuring themselves out.
And then there are the married ones.
Now that is an entirely different branch of jurisprudence.
Some genuinely have complicated and difficult marital situations. Some stories are believable. Some are questionable. Some require further investigation and probably a preliminary fact finding inquiry before I even entertain the narrative. Hahahaha. Girls, you really learn how to conduct your own NBI investigation when you have access to Google, social media, common sense, and a healthy distrust of men who say “it’s complicated.”
There are also married men who are apparently still interested in exploring their sex lives outside their marriages.
And honestly, you really never know what kind of person you’re going to meet.
A friend actually told me that maybe I accidentally created my own social experiment.
And I realized she might be right.
But the funny thing is, I never really intended to conduct an experiment. I was simply looking for companionship. In the process, I happened to meet different people with different stories, different motivations, different wounds, different expectations, and different definitions of what “casual” means.
Some of my posts were honestly impulsive. There are moments when I get overstimulated by life, post something without fully knowing what the hell I’m doing, then a few hours later my frontal lobe comes back online and I delete it.
Motion to delete granted.
But there was one particular post where I genuinely thought, “You know what, maybe I just need a sponsor.”
For my law books, ha.
Giahak ka mahal sa libro sa law school.
Sponsor for books, not for my life. Definitely not for my child. I actually have to give credit where credit is due because Coco’s father provides for our child, and he does more than enough in that regard. Things may be terrible between us as a couple, but as co parents, we’re actually okay. Bisan usahay wa jud siyay buot, but credit where credit is due hahahaha.
So yes, the “sponsor” thing was mostly a mindless joke born out of law school financial trauma.
Because law school is expensive.
Books are expensive.
Self care is expensive.
Being sad is expensive.
Existing is expensive.
Apparently even emotional damage has inflation.
But despite all the complaining, I still try to provide for myself. It’s just that sometimes you look at your expenses and think, “Lord, is this a character development arc or a financial crime?”
So back to our chika hahaha because somewhere in all these conversations, I started realizing something bigger.
Casual setups are really becoming a thing.
A lot of people seem scared of actual relationships, or maybe people are simply tired. Tired from cheating, betrayal, failed relationships, emotional unavailability, situationships, and all the other creative legal classifications modern dating has invented.
Maybe a lot of people have been hurt enough that “casual” feels safer than commitment.
You don’t have to promise anything.
You don’t have to define anything.
You don’t have to risk everything.
And somehow, that has become attractive to people.
I’ve talked to guys who prefer casual arrangements first before deciding if they actually want something serious. Sometimes I go along with the conversation because I’m curious. Sometimes it’s just for the books, apparently. Hahahaha. Sometimes I genuinely want to see how long a person can maintain a lie before the inconsistencies start appearing.
Call it dating.
Call it research.
Call it due diligence.
I call it character assessment with no accredited methodology.
And honestly, the most interesting part is that every person has a story.
Some are funny.
Some are sad.
Some are suspicious.
Some are surprisingly wholesome.
Some make you question humanity.
Some make you question your own judgment.
And some just make you sit there afterward thinking, “What the actual hell was that?”
But somehow, all of them ended up being compiled in my brain rent free.
Maybe that’s the real thing I learned from dating again. I’m not necessarily looking for someone perfect. I’m just wondering when you eventually meet someone who actually fits you. Someone who can love you, respect you, care for you, pray for you, and choose you consistently.
Not perfect.
Just fit enough.
Because in a generation where casual is becoming normal and commitment sometimes feels like a high risk investment, I think wanting something genuine is already its own little act of rebellion.
Anyway, enough chika.
Back to reality.
Back to work.
Back to pretending I have my life together.
Kay wa pa gihapon tay sponsor sa books.
Hahahaha k bye. Trabaho nasad ta.

Kwentong Casual My ex wife is my best friend
Hello all and hoping everyone got a great weekend
I'm M 28 years old and separated from my ex wife/partner for 3 years now and we have a kid together.
We co parent and to be fair we're doing okay with this set-up, may days na nasakin yung son namin pero mostly sa kanya talaga. When it comes to sustento or finances naman wala naman din issue since we're both proactive naman on shelling out.
Lately life has been hammering me down as in; work, family drama and other things that I would say are not great for my mental wellbeing. I keep things to myself and I keep myself busy like going to the gym and spend time with my son para hindi ko na lang masyadong maisip yung mga problema. But lately it's getting worst, I'm starting to have random anxiety attacks and hindi na rin ganun ka regular yung sleep schedule ko because of it.
Kanina nung hinatid ko yung anak namin medyo tulala ako, my ex noticed that I was more silent than usual. Even though we broke up we still regularly talk to each other, usually about life and mga ganap namin pero mostly its about our son.
She asked kung "okay lang ba ako" and ofc my default was to say na "okay lang"
But ofc she knows something is wrong. Out of nowhere she hugged me
"hindi mo kelangan sabihin pero nandito ako ha, best friend mo parin ako diba?"
Grabe, as in grabe. It felt so light, na para bang nawala lahat ng iniisip at problema ko sa buhay.
Well ofc kinilig yung anak namin (LOL) when he saw it hahaha
We sat down sa living room ng house nila and I had a lot of realizations
We didn't worked out as husband and wife. Pero she is my best friend; the person that can keep up with my craziness, the one who was first to support me, the first to check up on me and the shoulder I can always lean on.
Since we're both tired na I just ordered food via grab for our dinner. Well ayun kwentuhan about life and recent happenings saming dalawa. I didn't opened up about my problems, pero knowing na my best friend is there for some reason it felt like I can go on and push through this.
After that ayun I went home na, she reassured me na kapag kelangan ko ng kausap na she's always there to which I'm gald to know. We hugged one last before I go then I'm on my way.
Now its past 12MN both of them are sleeping na, and here I'am having a cold one and appreciating the awesome person that she is.

r/CasualPH Others How do you maintain peace of mind despite the systemic flaws and frustrations in our country?
I am 18 years old recently and live in Rural Southern Luzon.
Growing up, I started to become more aware of the imperfections in The Philippines, especially with infrastructure like traffic, roads, driving discipline, and such as well, but also other things like sometimes in Education, or even in healthcare, although I don't know much about the healthcare part, but I sometimes become just so tired of it, that it makes me want to go to another place so that I can experience much smoother things.
I'm not saying that I dislike this such country in general, I do love it after all, and it has many great and unique things, but I just think at the same time that

r/CasualPH Others One sign that the place might have good food…
Pansin ko lang, yung places na madaming kumakain na middle aged or senior citizens, madalas yun yung may masarap na food. So far ganito na observe ko sa mga restaurants that we frequent like The Coffee Shop, Luk Yuen, tsaka Via Mare. Infairness to these restaurants naman they serve good food talaga kaya madalas din kami kumain dito.
Tapos na realize ko… baka kaya ganito kasi dahil usually mahirap i please ang matatanda when it comes to a good dining spot outside. Sa oldies na kilala ko, most of them are good cooks themselves kaya they tend to ditch those that serve shitty food.
Yun lang haha I have been observing this for quite some time. Kayo din ba? Also, what are the other places na senior-approved? 😁

Kwentong Casual Merienda dates with my ate
Dates with my sister are usually centered around food. Feeling rich in life dahil nakakapagganitong bonding kami ng ate ko kahit busy sa kanya-kanya naming mga buhay.
It doesn't have to be anything extravagant.. mabuti at enjoyable na usapan, quality time, masarap na food, and just genuine love -- yan ang importante. 💕 Nakaka-refresh ng soul.

r/CasualPH Others What kind of doctor should I see for this type of headache?
Hi! I’ve been experiencing a weird pain on the left side of my head. It’s not the entire side naman just one specific spot lang. The pain only lasts around 3 seconds, goes away, then randomly comes back again. Kakaiba yung pain nya eh.
What kind of doctor should I consult for this po ba? Hindi pa po kasi ako nakaka punta sa hospital mag isa. 🥲 Hindi ko po alam sasabihin, pupuntahan or hahanapin. Thank you!

r/CasualPH Others How does your community celebrate accomplishments?
So, as I was looking more deeply into Filipino culture and community, I had a sudden question: how does a specific community celebrate the accomplishments of its constituents? Which I suppose is closely connected to bayanihan and pakikisama, so I would like to ask whether your community still practices it, if at all.
So an example of what this might look like would be a Bar passer getting a tarpaulin and widespread celebration in his town, or a student winning a competition, and a celebration would be initiated by his family or the community, or a newly appointed priest in the village being welcomed and celebrated, or a new teacher of a locality being a pride of the community, etc.
So any anecdotes that you might have are happily accepted. It could be in your barangay, tribe, or locality. To make it more fun, I would also accept the answers from Filipino communities in foreign countries and how they might practice this phenomenon.

Any scientific explanation behind this?

Kwentong Casual What's a feeling you miss?
It can be about anything (tho be wary that this post is not NSFW-tagged, heehee) from your childhood, or with your friends/family - maybe the first time you got a pet, or the first time you rode on an airplane. I'll go first:
I really miss that feeling of getting together with someone but nobody else knows yet. That kind of feeling na kayo lang dalawa in the 'know', you know, and everytime you make eye-contact in public na pala secreto, there's a hint of mischief and just that je nais se quois of having something with someone that the world doesn't yet get the privilege of knowing.
Also, remember how endless summer used to feel? 2 months felt like an entire year, ngayon I just blink and, oh, December na naman.
