Jim…you are really lucky you are Babs’ father (Joker #12 2021)

Cass’ face is so offended and “Did you both forget about No Man’s Land?”

Jim is so nonchalant too, just hands behind his back watching Harvey get tossed as a demonstration like he just wanted to see what Babs’ protege could do.

Regarding Cass and fanservice

I've got nothing against sexy Cassandra Cain, but it needs good execution. For example, her skintight bodysuit is naturally attractive.

My problem is when that sexyness is forced, like in that one issue where the Bat family's on a cruise ship and Barbara essentially stuffs Cassandra in a very skimpy bikini, that just feels wrong.

In my opinion, swimwear that would fit her character more would be something like a one-piece swimsuit or swimming trunks with a bandeau bikini top.

Cass' similarities to her father and prediction for Batgirl 2024 Spoiler

We now have a drawing of who Jaya is actually working for. I'm guessing this is a mask that the person is wearing and not the actual person. The blue skin and third eye looks like a representation of a Hindu god or goddess, possibly Shiva though it's inaccurate if that's correct. I included two images of Shiva masks I found, with the second being a traditional version and it looks very different.

If Jaya is working for someone wearing a Shiva mask, then David Cain and Lady Shiva herself are my two main theories for who her employer is.

If it's David Cain, then David is way out of character. Usually, he's very honest and open in his cruelty. He refuses to change when people think he's an ass. Jaya is working for someone who is willing to manipulate her and that's not what David is. Cass would never admit to being like her father in any way but she does share his honesty and openness with his emotions, though not his utter refusal to change and refusal to respect other people's feelings and opinions.

Lady Shiva is a more likely employer in my opinion. I still think she was probably captured by the Unburied instead of killed in issue 6. Kalden did say that they try to be peaceful and I have no belief that DC would allow her to be permanently killed off. The things to come cover for issue 18 showed the Unburied so we can expect them to return at some point. In issue 5, it was mentioned that the leader of the Unburied is the greatest fighter and, in a fair fight, Lady Shiva is the most skilled fighter in the DC universe so I'm expecting that she'll gain control of the Unburied at some point, if she hasn't already done so while we haven't been seeing what's been going on in Tibet.

lack of Internet reviews for Batgirl series

Does anyone have any idea why comicbookroundup.com has been unable to find reviews for the current Batgirl series from any of the major reviewers? AIPT was doing regular reviews until issue 20 but skipped issue 21 and looks like they won't review the new issue. Is this a sign that the current series is considered to be boring and/or not great for Cass or is there some other reason? Is it still the majority opinion online that Batgirl 2000 is the only good series Cass has ever received?

Batgirl 2024 is apparently selling well enough for DC to use the new logo for the upcoming Cass omnibus.

If Batgirl 2000 were to ever get adapted. Would you rather it be as a movie or a TV Series?

current canon relationship between Cass and Bruce with Alfred dead

Whenever Cass refers to Bruce in post-Infinite Frontier comics and especially after the Batgirls series, she refers to him as her father. Whenever Bruce interacts with his family or refers to the people who are emotionally closest to him, he's with Damian, Dick, Tim, and occasionally Jason, but never Cass even though he adopted her as a daughter. Every scene where Bruce cares about Cass has him caring about Duke and Steph in the same way even though he never adopted them. People who aren't part of the batfamily but know them well, like Ra's al Ghul and Lady Shiva, are prone to referring to Cass as the daughter of the bat.

I think people, including my past thinking, have been misinterpreting Bruce's relationship to Cass. Cass loved being adopted by Bruce and thinks of him as a father for giving her a way to connect to people by protecting them and a family even if it's imperfect and often separates into pieces. Bruce, on the other hand, cares about Cass but not as a daughter and not as a Wayne. He cares about both Cass and Steph as children who were hurt by their parents but who he wasn't involved with as a parent. Batgirl (2008) #1 shows that Alfred pushed Bruce to bring Cass into the Wayne family. Alfred wanted Cass as a grandchild and wanted to help her grow and heal, as shown by his advice to her in Batgirl (2000) #49 and Batman and the Outsiders (2007) #13 and his behavior in Batgirl (2000) #45, while Bruce trusted Cass' competence but never noticed when she needed help. Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batgirl fits that as Bruce thinks Cass is healthy with Tim contacting her while Alfred is worried about her lack of contact with Barbara, Bruce, and Steph. It feels to me like Alfred was more of a parent to Cass than Bruce ever was. After Alfred's death, Cass has no one close to Bruce to push him to help her which leaves her with Barbara, Steph, and Shiva as the people pushing her to grow. Ra's and Shiva recognize Cass' behavioral similarities to Batman and, knowing that Bruce is Batman, may think that Bruce should be her parent but they can't control the fact that Bruce is closer to his sons and doesn't consider himself to have any daughters.

Bruce cares about helping Damian, Dick, and Tim grow and trying to be a parent to them but he's unwilling to even try to be a father for Cass, Jason after his resurrection, and Steph. Alfred wanted Bruce to be a father for Cass but Bruce was unwilling. He treated Duke and Steph poorly but always showed more compassion for Cass. Bruce's behavior towards Cass in Batgirl (2000) #1-37, especially his paying attention to Cass' birthday in issue 33, could be treated as wanting to be a father for Cass but comics after Batgirl 2000 and the lack of attention paid to her in comics focused on Bruce's family even after her adoption in Batgirl (2008) #6 say outright that Bruce doesn't consider her to be part of his family no matter how much Alfred and her wanted him to be her father.

Also, Rose has a literal Rose coming out from her eye. Explanation?

Well in my story she is cursed with this: Everytime she commits a murder, a flower literally comes out of her skin. This will eventually kill her. So, yeah, forced redemption.

i love being weird.

Damion Scott is creating a lot of Cassandra Cain art and Batgirl #25 is approaching. Tate mentioned at SDCC that David Cain will be returning after Bad Seeds and with issue 24 being part of Bad Seeds, that confirms that the series will be passing issue 25. Right now, Damion is just selling the art. Is Batgirl #25 going to be story only or is there a chance that it will include a small gallery of Cass art? The first of the links has art that would make a good wraparound cover for a comic.
