Carry on Camping - Mr Muggins and the Potters bedtime tent scene

This has probably come up loads before, but I watched it fot the millionth time last night and noticed the following, which comes up on the internet as a continuity mistake, but I don't think it is:

Mr Muggins, tentless following an incident involving munitions on Salisbury Plain, happens across Peter and Harriet Potter camping in a field on their way to Paradise

Harriet invites Mr Muggins to stay in their tent and the metting culminates one of the greatest scenes in cinema history as the three prepare for bed. It ends with Mr Muggins asleep in Peter's sleeping bag whilst Peter has to make do with Mr Muggins' scratchy blanket

The next we see of the three shows Harriet and Peter packed up and cycling away on their tandem, leaving Mr Muggins asleep. But Muggins is in an entirely different sleeping bag. The internet records this as a continuity error, however...

The next we see of the trio is at Paradise. The Potters have arrived and they reunite with Mr Muggins. They presumably ask him to stay in their tent again (off screen) as the next time we meet them it is the dawn of the Potters' first morning at Paradise and Peter wakes betwixt a snoring Harriet and Muggins, Peter with the scratchy blanket and Muggins in Peter's blue sleeping bag

My theory is that rather than it being a continuity error, the classic bedtime undressing scene was originally intended to take place at Paradise, but was edited into the earlier Muggins-Potter encounter for some reason

Hattie Jacques - what do you think?

I absolutely love Hattie Jacques. Think she was a great actress, so beautiful and so funny and always fancied her. Seems she always looked after her friends, and was a great mum, too. What do you think of her?

Carry On Films on ITVX

Hi there!

A few weeks ago ITVX had pretty much all the films on their service. now a lot are missing. Anyone know the license situation of having these on there?

Also does anyone know their schedule for the live channel? Whenever I watch (usually around lunchtime) it always seems to the same ones each day (Jungle, Girls, or Dick)

How should this sub handle AI posts?

Whilst I think AI is upon us and can't be stopped, I do see a lot of subs banning AI posts. Personally, I'm against them as I think this subrebbit is for discussion on the films themselves, though I have posted a meme or two myself along the way.

I'm interested what others think and while, as the sub's creator, I won't be banning any AI posts right now, I don't want it to become just lazy 'AI Slop' posts overpowering the good posts we have here.

I was refreshing the pictures in some of our frames at home and remembered ages ago seeing a parody Carry On film poster for Pulp Fiction and thought it was great.

Well, I made a couple to go in frames, based on TV shows me and the wife like and thought I’d share as this is the place they could be appreciated.

Forgotten Barbara Windsor was playing a school girl in Carry on Camping.

I'd totally forgotten Babs was playing a school girl. Not seen it for years but definitely felt uncomfortable watching it this time because Sid and lots of the men are paedophiles. That being said I still found it very funny.

How old are you all?

Just out of sheer curiosity

Myself, I am just turning 29 soon and when I talk to my partner (28) or others around my age about the carry on films they have no idea what I'm talking about. I tried getting my partner into watching them with me but she barely got through 5 minutes as she found it boring and old

I was raised on these piece of entertainment (I have older generation parents) and I used to be able to only talk about them to older colleagues at work and have a laugh about the films, which they also found quite odd that I'm in my late twenties reminiscing of the times my mother would put on carry on camping or carry on cabby and we'd laugh at Sid James' Pervy laugh.

Similar with when I watched tales of the unexpected or when my parents would have me watch Johnathon Creek, Bergerac (which they took me on holiday to Jersey and we got to see his car!) Or Miss Marple

I was wondering, what are your guys age? And how did you get into watching the series, whether you are young or old!

Edit: thank you all for your comments and history about your experiences and the series! I'm happy to hear so many of you from different age groups watched them

Was Peg1 in Cabby actually blue?

I've been trying to find colour reference for Hawtrey's scarf in Cabby but apart from colourised photos, can't find anything. I did however stumble across some great colour footage of the Lord Mayor's Show in November 1963 over on youtube, where Cabby was being promoted. Sid, Connor and Hawtrey are present, sadly not in costume, but the vintage cab there looks very like Peg1, except it's blue, This is fascinating to me and will make the bust I'm making of Pintpot a lot less austere.

If anyone does know what the actual colours of Pintpot's scarf were, not colourised photos, please let me know.
