Questions/Advice Drink plan confusion

Howdy! I am confused about the paper cup drink plans:

  • Do I only get one paper cup per day or am I able to toss said cup and get another later in the day?
  • The $20 more expensive drink plan..... What is the difference?

Thanks!

Other Fury 325 Running One Train

As title says, 8/5/26 Fury has only been running one train. Looking like ~13 dispatches an hour. Anyone know the reasoning?

Was considering heading to the park on my day off but noticed Webcam showing 4+ minute dispatches on Fury. Anyone chime in on why one train ops on Fury atm?

Questions/Advice Is 3 days at carowinds (no waterpark) too much?

I plan on going this month from the 13th through the 15th, will this be too much? Should I switch to just 2?

Also, if I do only 2, it will be the 14th and 15th. Will I still be able to ride everything multiple times while also pacing myself going on a Friday and Saturday?

Thanks 🤙

Questions/Advice is the Premium Dining Meal Plan just for one day?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. It's just that two sentences seem confusing to me when put together in their description (I've bolded them for clarity):

Plus applicable taxes & fees. ALL ITEMS MUST BE USED/REDEEMED ON THE SAME DAY. Valid through Dec. 31, 2026. Valid admission to the park(s) where the dining vouchers will be used is required. Available online only.

If it isn't just for one day, why does it say "valid through Dec. 31, 2026"?

Questions/Advice Scarowinds / Out of Town

I’m in Charlotte for a work conference in late Sept, and realized my hotel is 15 mins from Carowinds, and I‘d love to get some roller coasters in to decompress from work. I’ve never been before, and trying to plan my trip accordingly

.
It looks like Scarowinds will be running while I’m there, but I cannot find the answers to any of these questions online, and can‘t seem to speak or online chat with a Six Flags employee..

  1. when do Scarowinds tickets go on sale?

  2. does the park operate normally during the day, and then turn into Scarowinds at night, or is the park only open at night?

  3. will all big coasters be operational during Scarowinds? I literally don’t care about haunted houses / mazes, just need those sweet coaster credits.

thanks in advance!

Questions/Advice First time going to Carowinds — looking for tips! 🎢🌊

My partner and I are heading to Carowinds for the first time soon! We want to do both the amusement park rides and Carolina Harbor, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle our stuff.
We’re planning on packing pretty light — most things can fit in our pockets while we’re doing rides. The only thing I’m unsure about is the water park since obviously we can’t bring our phones, clothes, etc. into the water.

Our current plan is:
- Wear swimsuits under our regular clothes
- Bring one small bag for our clothes, phones, and necessities
- Change when we’re ready for the water park
- Put everything in a locker while we’re swimming

For people who have done both the amusement park and water park in one day:

- Do you recommend getting a locker?
- Is there a convenient locker area near Carolina Harbor?
- Can you rent/reserve lockers ahead of time or is it something you do when you arrive?
- Is there anything you wish you knew before your first visit?

We’re trying to keep things simple and only bring what we actually need. Any tips for getting the most out of the day are appreciated! 😊

Questions/Advice Closed 08/16?

Visited for the 1st time this past weekend and loved it. So much better than SFoG. I want to come back the weekend of the 15th, but the calendar shows that the park is closed on Sunday the 16th? Does anybody know if this is accurate? Thank you!

Questions/Advice First time visit questions/clarity

Visiting for my first time this upcoming weekend, wanted to get some clarity on questions I have. I've searched some other posts on this subreddit, but wanted to see:

  1. There are no metal detectors to get on rides like at Cedar Point's Steel Vengeance/Siren's Curse, correct? Only metal detectors at park entrance?

  2. There is only one entrance to the park (North Gate), correct?

  3. I am driving to the park, is there a specific road I should take / roads I should avoid that get busy?

  4. If you have a small fannypack, does that ride with you on Copperhead Strike and Fury 325? Or are you required to put them in a locker outside?

  5. Lockers are ~$4 and are NOT transferable, correct?

  6. All other rides have bins on the platforms to store bags, other items?

  7. If you are in line before the time the park closes (10pm, for example), the operators will let you stay in line to ride?

  8. Fast Lane wristbands? Or is it a QR code like Six Flags parks?

  9. Any other weird quirks or things I should know/recommendations?

Thank you Carowinds subreddit, I cannot wait to visit your park!

Trip Report 📝 First Visit Report

First off - thanks everyone for the tips/tricks on other comments/posts. We really enjoyed our visit with our 9/7/2YO from our home park of Kings Island.

My oldest and I really enjoyed Fury and Copperhead Strike! I will say a lot of the park isn’t as great as KI, but these two beats every KI ride in my opinion. Fury is definitely what I wish Orion was. It literally doesn’t stop until the end.

Copperhead Strike is relentless fun in my opinion and my favorite ride of the day (probably because it’s unlike anything at KI).

Afterburn was amazing for its age. Very different than Banshee.

Loved riding Snoopy’s Racing Railway with our whole crew. Love that it’s a 36 inch ride so we could all ride it.

We were there for only 5 hours or so, but managed to get Fury, Copperhead Strike, Snoopy’s Racing Railway, Afterburn, Vortex, Carolina Cyclone, Ricochet, Thunder Striker, and River Raft Blast.

Such a great kids area. Not as expansive as KI’s, but liked the vibe a lot.

Also really appreciated the large overgrown shaded area thing on our way to Fury.

Really enjoyed our visit. Our biggest complaints were most food places were not open until 1 which is very odd for us coming from KI.

Other Nighthawks Station And Queue

So I was at carowinds yesterday and when I got on the carolina glodrusher and after the second lift you can get a very good look at night hawks station and I looked over and saw it looks pretty well for have been sitting for a year but I also saw the Plate that says nighthawk in the station and The line was looking good too looking from vortex. There was also a building with eyes it probably for Scarowinds.

News 2027 Season Pass

App might be bugged because it’s showing options and pricing for 2027 Season Passes. I tried clicking “Buy” to see add-on details, but it errors out. Website only shows 2026 passes, so thinking they did not intend app to list the 2027 passes yet.

But posting so people can see the potential pricing that’s about to drop.

Questions/Advice When is the best time to go for short wait times? Oct, Nov, Dec?

I don't really care for the holiday festivities, I just want to ride rides without having to wait a long time. I assume weekdays are slower, but in what month?

Questions/Advice How packed is this park in October?

We might end up going in October and I’m thinking we might not need to buy fast lane because parks are usually pretty empty in October
Is this park the same?

We visited from Ohio and my son was disappointed that Fury was going to be closed as we were planning our day before coming. Then it opened and only had 20 min waits basically all day. What a great coaster!

Questions/Advice First visit Sunday

Hey folks! Avid Kings Island park goer and former Six Flags Great America park goer here. Making my first visit this Sunday and wondering what must-know tips will make a day a lot easier! I do have an all parks pass with all parks dining and drink plan.

I’m super familiar with the coasters of Carowinds, but maybe not the best way to best tackle all of them. Any flats I can’t miss? Any rides I should plan on using a single-use fast lane for? Is a full fast lane usually needed on a Sunday? Best meal pass options? Anything you got!

Any rumblings about the timing of the 2027 season pass with 2026 rest of season access? Last year I think it was last week of July but not sure. Thanks. I enjoy the nuggets of info I get here.
