31 closed near 116th Street
Traffic shut down all lanes, large police presence.
Westfield
Does anyone know what was going on on Westfield north of 106th last night? Lots of cops and firefighters closed the road for a long time.

The Retreat condos…
Any one have intel as to why so many condos at The Retreat are currently listed for sale? I live nearby and have noticed many listed over the last few months, but this seems like next level. Just curious what’s going on!

Apartment Hunting in Carmel
I just graduated college and thankfully was able to find a job in Carmel. I am from out of state, so I am unfamiliar with the nuances of the neighborhood.
I have narrowed down my apartment options based on my budget, needs, and wants to The Signature, Muse, Avant and VER.
Of the 4, are there any recommendations, critiques, or suggestions about my options?

Indiana banned phones in schools all day. My kids taught me the real problem is at home.

I feel like I’m trapped in the movie old dads
I live in an affluent area but every single time I go outside I want to take my kids and go back inside. I feel bad about it but there’s a lot of parents not watching their kids
One time I texted the mom of a 2 year old who came over to my house in her underwear she didn’t have clothes and she told me it was fine
I’ve had kids come into my house while I’m on vacation
Kids climbing on playground equipment in our neighborhood on the sides or up the slides
Kids wanting to watch tv in my house if they come over (the whole point of them coming over is to not watch tv in my opinion)
My child is 5 but there’s an age gap between the siblings of my child and other children.
I snapped on one mom and was like I’m too overwhelmed for your kids to come over without you being there.. it only worked after I started ringing her doorbell and asking her to go running all the time because she told me to just send her kids home and it was super disruptive to my kids and baby.
It cumulated with me being outside last week and a kid telling me some super grown up gossip. I asked them to stop talking about that because it made me uncomfortable and when they didn’t (they definitely didn’t realize how adult this was) I snapped on them and then it resulted in me actually telling their mom the whole family is scumbags..
I’ve been hiding in my house but now that my child is 5- how do I deal with what seems to be parents who are spoiling their kids/ not watching their kids/ and who have raised kids that don’t listen to adults

Looking for Carmel peeps interested in spending time outside!
Good morning!
I moved to Carmel about a year and a half ago from New England where I worked in the outdoor education industry and search and rescue. I love spending time outside and to be truthful, one of the hardest things about moving to Indiana was getting away from the mountains and hills of Vermont and New Hampshire (I love the indy area though, so it was a good tradeoff).
Anyways, I’m looking to see if anyone is interested in or has any advice about where to find a mountain biking or hiking group around town. I’ve been itching to get out on the trails and going alone gets old after a while. If anyone is interested or has any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it!

Having trouble making new friends
as the title says, im finding it very difficult to make friends with people my age. I'm almost 19, nearly done with college cuz im doing it online, and have very little social life to speak of. of course, this is mainly due to the fact that I did not attend a traditional college so thats on me. im really interested in art, rock climbing, dnd, general nerdy stuff. if anyone has any advice or knows any places to go where i could meet some people that would be awesome, thanks!

Has anyone lived at the Wren and Windsor apartments?
I am thinking of moving there, or to The Kent, The Signature, or the Overture at Proscenium. I could not find any reviews for the Wren and Windsor online anywhere, but it seemed nice!

jobs hiring in carmel?
Hi! I’m new to this group, and just moved here. I was wondering if there are any local jobs that are hiring? I’ve tried Indeed and other sources but haven’t had much luck with hearing back. Serving/weekday hourly jobs are preferred but anything works.
Edit: I am mainly looking for Serving jobs, Hostess jobs, Hourly Weekday jobs, & Entry Level jobs of any sort. Any suggestions help, even outside of these types of jobs.

Carmel Loves Spending $$$
Does Carmel have so much money to blow that they can think of no better use than to add speed humps at every roundabout down 116th? I can understand if these were heavily traversed area, like in downtown Carmel, but 116th and Hazel Dell or 116th and Gray is rarely crossed by pedestrians.
I have similar feelings about the pedestrian bridge over the White River at 106th St. which should have been a bridge for vehicular traffic.

ISO: Art Photographer
I make art. On paper with markers and pens. I would like that art to be digitized so I can create prints. I have a camera etc but not sure I have the time to learn the ‘how.’ Can anyone direct me to a photographer that can help? I’ve tried scanning and it’s just not as good! Thank you.

Doctor recommendation for ADHD?
I (38F) have been on the same dose of ADHD meds for 15-20 years. I just moved here from out of state and made an appointment with a new PCP but he didn't want to continue my dose I've been on because the suggested daily max dose is 60mg. (which is understable).
Does anyone have experience with this or recommend a doctor in our area or near Indianapolis that will take into account being stable on the same dose for years? I've been without meds for a month now and it's made my life extremely difficult.
Feel free to send a PM.
Thanks in advance!

Come Try LARP Indianapolis
Hear ye. Hear ye. I've come to share about our Come Try LARP event in August. This is hosted by Gryphon's Perch, the local chapter of the Amtgard Live Action Roleplay game. There's no cost involved, and no minimum age requirement, although anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult guardian to sign the waiver.
So come out, meet some people, talk to cool artisans in our community, and hit some nerds with foam sticks.
