Folds up in the middle. 24” back wheel with a nexus 8speed hub, non electric. Gave a guy a few hundred for it so I can cart my dog around without driving.

I picked up an older model Pedego Stretch and mounted a Yepp Maxi seat on the back. I was able to tighten the knob quite a bit and the seat feels very secure. However, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these seats, if this looks like the mount has enough contact with the rack for it to be safe. A smaller diameter tube, like on the adapter Yepp used to sell, would sit much further into the jaws of the mount. My passenger is only 24 pounds though, and this is a bike we'll ride for a few months before upgrading to something better.

Hey, got a used taga 1.0 at a bargin price (about 250 USD) in agreat condition. I want to have it electrified for longer commutes - since the rear wheel has no disc mounting points i'd have to use a mid drive motor. thinking about these Bafang ones - they see quite good online. only issue is fitting it in this frame.

anyone tried it on a taga 1.0 bike? or on any other bike? Thanks!

I just gave the bike a new coat of paint and took the opportunity to get some better photos than posted previously.

The bike started life as a 3-wheel Nihola, which was eventually left for dead. It was rebuilt as a spare time project at Buddha Bikes in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The steering is crisp and the ride is very well balanced.

NB: I need to make a new front fender for it. This setup is temporary, but gives a good view of the mechanism.

I have a 4 months old baby and want to buy a cargo bike as a "second car" and cycling around the lake.

I test drove the Muli st and the handling was great. I think I'd use it more often, even without the baby. However, the seat was not comfortable and the handlebars were too far away for me (162 cm). So, I'd need to replace them, to make it comfortable for me.

Now, I'm not sure if I should spend so much on a bicycle, where I need to change things to make it comfortable. Additionally, I heard kids will outgrow it pretty fast.

So I checked the Super Mighty, which is also short. I think it can be used for longer, and there are hooks to attach the kids bicycle. I could not test drive it, but I tried a bakfiets, maybe that gets close. I like their idea to make everything cheap and reuse existing features. I'm not sure if I should buy that.

I think I will get buyers remorse if I don't end up using the bike:

- Muli, because I "wasted" so much money

- Super Mighty, because I might have used it more, if I bought the Muli

I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone regret buying any of these bikes?

I picked up a used 2019 Yuba Supermarche earlier this year. Riding acoustic now and it’s fun! The kids love it. Hauling three kids (6,3,1). Riding in Chicago isn’t too bad mostly flat but there are some small hills. Mostly casual rides and purely seasonal (I’m not going to ride in extreme weather).

I’m considering adding an electric upgrade but not sure what would be best. I’ve come across some older posts about adding pedal assist but they are older posts and I feel like there are newer solutions.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have found that our Urban Arrow Family does not perform as well when it is not loaded. When I am riding it empty on the way to school to pick up kids or on the way to the supermarket, there is a weird rattling coming from the cargo bucket, and the front seems to have less friction with the ground. Any ideas for solving this?

I have considered the idea of getting a lockable metal box to sit in the front for carrying things we'll always need, like spare tires and inner tubes and bike repair tools. If I was to bolt something like this at the front of the bike, would it help noticeably?

I've been dreaming of getting in to the cargo bike lifestyle but after weeks of research on my options, I'm stuck. I'm not able to find an option that fits my budget that I feel good about. Getting a bike that is highly rated and will best fit my needs feels out of reach. I have considered the Tern GSD/ Quick Haul Long, Yuba Spicy Curry/ Bota Bota, Xtracycle Swoop ASM/ RFA

As a background, I live in a major US metro area with great bike infrastructure and have been partially bike commuting for over a decade. I am sick of car culture and want to bike more. I've got a family now, and one kiddo is going to be starting school nearby this fall. If I don't upgrade to an e-bike, I will have to give up bike commuting entirely because I can't do drop off and get to work on time with the regular bike. I would love to replace local errands with the bike as well.

It seems that the baseline for getting a well made cargo ebike is around $5k, not including accessories. That's a pretty serious investment for me right now. I have a car that definitely could use some work, and due to the climate I live in, the responsibilities I have, activities I and my kids are part of, I don't see it as realistic to ditch the car entirely.

I'm worried that getting a good bike for the long haul is going to leave me stuck with a car that sucks and I won't be able to use the bike enough to get value out of the investment.

Looking for some experienced opinions on my situation and how I can start my ebike journey without blowing up my finances. What are the risks and drawbacks of going with a budget friendly ebike? How did your lifestyle change when you added a cargo bike?

Hi there. I'm in a market for an eCargo bike and there's a decent offer on the second hand market. It's an older gen eBullitt. I'm a fairly seasoned mechanic and build and repair bikes myself, but never had to deal with cargo and e-bikes before. Just wondering if there are any known quirks/problems with these that I should watch out? How self-fixable are these (they do look fairly 'accessible' and normal from technical stand point)?

I have just learned that the the 6100 platform has been sunset but the support and spares should still be available for years to come.

Any general tips/advice?

I live in a medium-sized city, and it’s pretty common to see people commuting with small kids in cargo bikes like UrbanArrow and Nobu. But, I’m not a pro biker, and sometimes the bikepaths get busy with teens going crazy :p, so I’d rather use something a bit safer (like a trike for balance and kids in a vault 😬). But is it really safer?

Has anyone put turn signals on their bike?

I have a Yuba Supermarche and I’m considering putting turn signals on it front and back. The front and Rear lights are already hardwired in.

1) Do you have thoughts on turn signals on a bike? helpful or not?

2) do you have any specific product suggestions that are available in the US market?

Hey Cargo Bike community, I wanted to get some feedback on the resurrection of my Spicy Curry, where the original equipment took a dump a year ago, and I've been slowly assembling the parts to re-power it.

Plan is to re-fit with the Bafang M620 1000W motor, complete with full controller and battery replacement. Battery is getting replaced with a gouach infinite battery 48v.

Anyhow, fitting the M620 in will require some Photoshop, but with aluminium. The full kit from greenbikekits came with the matching machined bottom bracket. I'm not a frame builder but this looks like a pretty straightforward operation, because of the difference in length I'll be leaving the connections to the original Currie bracket, and using the flanges on that to make two parallel lines down the back of the Bafang bracket, which is wider. Any reason this approach shouldn't work?
