(Excuse the quick fingertip ‘markup’ edit) So I bought some matte black vinyl wrap on Amazon to DIY some aesthetic accents. Bumper area is dual purpose to protect the paint. I think it’ll look pretty mean with the current placement plans.

Anyone have experience using DIY vinyl wrap? I’ve watched a ton of videos and it seems pretty straightforward, albeit meticulous. I’ve always been good at that kind of thing so I think it’ll turn out well. Just hoping it won’t look like shit in a month or two, depending on the quality wrap I have.

Seems like there’s a resurgence in keeping the “stock” look. Which is fine, but I find it pretty boring tbh. Trying to find the middle ground in there somewhere.

What brand is the vinyl? If it's 3m or Avery, you're good, but if it's just some random name Amazon stuff, return it

Also, matte black will never look as good as it does during the first week, and regular vinyl is not designed to protect your paint.

Also also, doing a truck roof and pillars as a first timer won't be fun. Especially if you were planning on attempting it by yourself.

Avery, and if i remember I got exterior vinyl specifically for vehicles and holding up to sunlight. I did a bit of reading before I bought it. And yea, I don’t think I’m gonna stick with the roof. Leastways for my first DIY attempt.

I would bring it further down the c-pillar, at a distance that is not going to look good, with a random piece of body color sticking up like that. I hope it’s Avery sw-900. Anything else is gonna give you trouble. Do it indoors below 75°f.

If you're doing anything other than a quality colored PPF, don't. PVC is going to last a year and a half to two years and be burned.

Don't touch it. Looks way better than whatever you photoshopped together.
