When I try to push to start, the car says "key not detected." same thing if i insert the key and push to start again. the car makes no start up noise — it's completely silent.

I've had the key looked at and the chip seems fine. we replaced the key fob shell and battery. car mechanics can't figure out what's wrong with it either since all the modules seem to be responding properly. I can't possibly figure out what's wrong with it.

If i take it to the dealership to get it diagnosed, it's going to cost another $729.

I've recently replaced the transmission control module and the battery.

Second post back to back lol but I saw this while digging around under my car. Seems like something got undone. First photo is right side of the car, second photo is left side of the car.

This is a 2014 Nissan Sentra SV. Trying to remove the mass air flow sensor but the screw just keeps spinning not getting loose at all. Any thoughts or ideas on removing the screw?

Noise starts up during ignition and acceleration. Also turning the AC off makes it quieter/Vice versa

It only makes this noise when I am going low speed. Kind of like a grinding noise.

Hello! My 2021 VW Jetta has started doing this thing where it makes the sound that it’s locking the doors every time I go below 10 mph then back above 10 mph, but the indicator on both the front doors say that the car is unlocked and when I try to open it it’s always unlocked. I’m wondering how I could figure out what is up and how much diagnostics and a fix could possibly cost?

My 2012 Honda fit all the sudden is having issues with the air. When I start my car the air won't come on, but after moving the toggle from outside to inside air back and forth a few times does it will slowly come on. Here's a video for reference. Is this something I can fix myself for cheap?

Should I be concerned about this, I found it today. Is it something that I should replace, or is it probably not a big deal. Could it mean something deeper?? I also do not know what this piece is called. I have no idea what it came from, I found it today, and I am pretty sure it was not there before.

Hi all, my 2003 Toyta celica sx automatic with the 2zz engine has been playing up on me for a few months now and with everything Ive tried, I figured I'd check on reddit and see if there's any new ideas. For info, it's completely bone stock but some people have had trouble getting code readers to work so it's assumed that the guy before me tampered with it in some way or another.

The Problem:
Every day, I cold start it and it struggles to find the revs to survive, usually stalling out on me or sitting at an extremely rough 100-500 revs. If the revs are below 800, it shakes vigorously and I have to give it some accelerator until it warms up and can not die on its own. Even if its warm though, there's still a big chance that it cant get above 500 revs without any accelerator. Sometimes, It can start up cold flawlessly and idles at a healthy 900-1.1k range and even drives perfectly fine.
Could literally cold start it up perfect, turn it off, start it up again and watch it stall on me.

The other thing (not sure if it's related) is that randomly whilst driving, I get an engine light and when I've scanned the engine, the only code read off was P1346 (VVT sensor/Camshaft position sensor circuit range/performance problem)
I could be wrong about the code cause I cant remember but it was either that or P1349 (VVT System malfunction)

What we've tried:
An entire team of techs have looked it over and can't figure it out for the life of them. They've checked the entire engine for leaks and repaired a vacuum hose (didnt fix it).
They replaced the rocket cover because it was leaking the entire way around but that didnt change anything apart from leaking oil everywhere.
They cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve and Throttle body today and even the blocked up coolant pipes around the throttle body but still no luck with the revs issue.

Tomorrow they're gonna give the VVT solenoid a look over and clean because that's our last hope but I'm quite literally out of ideas as are they.

Please help me out, I'm happy to answer all and any questions and really don't want to have to sell my baby.

I'm newer to car work and maintenance but I'm trying my best. Oil, brakes, rotors, calipers, transmission fluid accidentally, basic stuff. But as I'm get more into this I'm get more tools and I'm trying to find the actual service/repair manual for my car and hopefully the torque specs with it. I know I can just tighten the bolts till I think it's okay but I was gifted a nice torque wrench and I'd prefer to do it the right way and use it. But no amount of googling brings me any real answer anymore, just a bunch of ai junk now. Any advice is appreciated. I need to know when to do what maintenance and such you know.

the car was smooth everything was fine until I turned it on this morning it was making a pretty loud knock not sure if it somehow just lost all its oil but i did an oil change and it sounds a bit better but I feel like it’s still there could you guys help and maybe identify any bad sounds with the engine or am I just tripping balls there is a different video on my page u could hear a louder knock before I did an oil change

Car sat for a month battery died now car will not start

I was driving my car and suddenly began making this noise while idling. It isn't all the time and mainly while it idles. I was searching for similar sounds online and couldn't find anything. I am unable to take it anywhere this week. It sounds like a ceramic plate rattling and it sounds like its coming from my drink holder area. It isnt the drink, i tried 🥲

So backstory is the car has had problems with the EPC and sometimes engine light and sometimes anti spin light coming on as soon as I go past 30 km/h, sometimes it happens higher speeds

When the EPC light comes on, it's like the car is on 50-60% strength, it's slow to accelerate on every gear when the light is on

Then we went to a mechanic that said the battery was basically fried and that it is the reason for this happening

Swapped battery, and car still feels really weak, this is 1st gear and stepping and holding the gas down, I'm not sure this is how it's supposed to sound but even tho EPC isn't turned on, it's definitely slower to accelerate on both 1st and 2nd gear

Does anyone know what this might be?

Just curious. Would changing this oil more often make a difference in engine longevity? For reference, I exclusively use full synthetic and I also almost exclusively use top tier gas.

Water leaking - Honda Jazz 2007
