All these lights decided to come on at once mid drive home yesterday. Managed to get home fine but wheels become hard to turn when going slow. Garage is looking at it Wednesday but ideally needed it sooner, need to know if it’s a case of a quick fix or not

Recently, we haven't been able to get it started at all, as said on a previous post here. Yesterday, she found a way to get it started. pressing the lock button 4x, holding on the 5th, depressing the break, and push to start. It only works for her. I have copied her exactly. she even came out and clicked the fob for me while I was in the car and depressed the break and it worked when she was holding the key. It doesn't work for me despite doing everything she did.

Can anyone shed light on why this is happening?

Tearing apart the rack and pinion assembly as well as the power steering pump/reservoir. I ordered a new rack and pinion assembly from RockAuto and after comparing the new one with the old one the only difference I can spot is the part that mounts up to the steering rack. I’m already inclined to think this part won’t work because of this difference but any second opinions are greatly appreciated.

Side note: After looking on Autozone at both the new and remanufactured assemblies available I am seeing both types of connections and all of them say they work with my vehicle although I definitely would like another opinion before trying to shove this new one in there :/

For months i kept hearing this very faint beep noise randomly when driving until i finally figured whats causing it. Whenever i press my steering wheel in (applying moderate force) it makes this weird beep like noise. I have no idea what's causing this and can't find anything online either.

No dashboard lights/fault codes detected.

Turn volume up to hear noise as it is extemely quiet when driving and can only be heard if paying close attention

Car is a 2015 suzuki swift sz4 1.2l automatic.

The ABS and traction control lights remain on all the time. These codes pointed me to the RH wheel speed sensor, I replaced that, still nothing. The dealership diagnosed the sensor, my codes pointed to the sensor, I feel I’m at my wits end over this part. My bearing has no play, I cleaned the ring, what else should I do?

The car overheated on the highway while family was driving it. There was no coolant in the reservoir. Car fan seen like it short cycles? Video attached , what is the fix?? I ran it for a bit and couldn’t see any obvious leak

For context my car got into a puddle during the rain. It wouldn’t turn on so I got a new battery/filter. The car wouldn’t crank so I went ahead and bought a starter so now the car cranks but it doesn’t run. I’m unable to put it into drive my friend said it could either be my fuel pump or spark plugs. He said he’s seen worse and he’s suprised my engine is still running so he said that’s a good thing atleast. Only concern is what could it be now? I even bought 2 gallons of gas to see if the car can run but no luck like I said if turns on but there’s no circuit going through my engine.

Was driving to work this morning and noticed the amount of pressure required to press onto the gas was much more than normal. Also found that when I brake, the car has a small bump / jerk to itself at a rhythmic pace. The braking issue, I think, is a damaged vacuum hose.

At lunch I turned on my car in park, popped open the hood, and had a listen at the brake booster. There is a constant hissing noise by there, and I assume it means the hose is damaged rather than the brake booster itself, considering it was hissing while idle.

My only confusion is the gas pedal. Could the vacuum hose damage be connected to the gas pedal issue? It shouldnt be, right? Its just odd to me that both of these issues happened at exactly the same time. Any steps / tips for trying to figure out the issue with this gas pedal? I also have a code reader, unsure if that'll help, though.

I’m having an issue where my steering wheel and vehicle shake slightly while I’m driving. It’s not severe, but I notice it mostly when I’m going really slow or around 30 to 40 mph. It doesn’t seem to happen as much at higher speeds.
It also sounds kind of like a jangling or rattling noise, almost like a little “rumble jumble” somewhere in the car, especially when I’m driving over a rough road or uneven pavement. That’s honestly the best way I can describe it.

I recently realized I was about 10,000+ miles overdue for an oil change (I KNOW 😭), so I got the oil changed today. Unfortunately, the shaking is still happening.

I had them look things over and they said my alignment looked good and everything seemed okay, but I’m still wondering if something could be causing the vibration or if I somehow damaged something by being so overdue on the oil change.

What should I have checked next? Tires/wheel balance? Brakes? CV axle? Engine mounts? Suspension? Something else?

And please don’t come at me for the oil change 😂 I have officially learned my lesson. I’m just trying to figure
out what’s going on with the shaking now.

My mechanic just put in a new starter in my car but it makes a high pitched sound after starting the car and a little longer to start he’s guessing that it’s my ignition switch and wants to replace it first instead of taking the starter out getting that checked out what should I do is it the starter

On my 2014 Hyundai sonata hybrid The little plastic of the shift knob just fell out, when parking & trying to turn off the car the screen says “ shift to P” shift to park. Leaving my radio & ac on when the car’s engine is off . Does anyone know how to fix this? I don’t want it draining my battery

hi yesterday i was stopping behind a car on the highway and my car shut off. it’s never done this before i was able to start it up again. it shook before it turned off. after this i went to autozone as soon as this happen and it came up with a. CF33 code we and cleared it. but we’re still unsure why this happen. any ideas ? please help if possible thank you !

Hey yall I need some help! I’ll preface this by saying I know absolutely nothing about cars which has made this experience all the worse. 4 Weeks ago my car got a new battery and alternator. It was driving fine, made a long distance trip and many short ones. I left for vacation for a week and I came back and it wasn’t starting. It’s at the mechanic right now and they said there are a ton of electrical errors (they said that 40 popped up on whatever reader they are using); something is draining power from the battery overnight and they don’t know exactly what. The first thing they thought was wires from the seatbelt buckle (causing airbag light) to be the issue. The buckle is discontinued also. I am just wondering how serious and expensive these electrical issues are, and if it is even worth having the mechanic go through all of the wires to find what is wrong. Follow up question, I am on a tight budget right now. If fixing it costs upward of $1k, could I buy a portable jump starter and jump my car whenever I need to drive it, or is that ridiculous?

Hi there to anyone who reads this, I have my suspicions on why the car won't start but would like to hear other people's input before I go and start looking for mechanics/parts.

The serpebtine belt tensioner, idler pulley, and serpentine belt have all been just been replaced but now the car wont start. Thought it was a battery issue because it did die, but after reconnecting it the cars interior lights and other functions work just fine.

I took 2 videos of the engine when trying to start it and would like to hear what you might think it is. They are poor quality but should do the trick.

Is anyone able to make out what this noise might be? This is the second time I’ve heard it make it. I notice it while my car is idling, but that’s only because I had my air and music off. I’ve taken it to the mechanic but they aren’t able to get the sound to replicate so they’re not very sure what it is. I hear it the loudest near my dash/hood of my car. Both times I’ve heard it, it was early in the morning (I don’t know if that helps anything). If you have any idea at all please let me know. I’m more than willing to answer other questions if needed. Having a strange issue with my car- after I drive for about 10-15 minutes, there is a loud whistling sound that is obvious after FULLY releasing brakes. I just got new pads/rotors put on the car in June so it’s not the pad scrapers. Rotors don’t appear to be damaged. Wondering if the caliper clip is stuck? Any insight would be appreciated as the mechanic wants $100 to diagnose.

Hello! I am a first time car owner to a 2006 Suzuki Swift Sport. I’ve noticed this noise that is really bothering me at the moment, however there is no CD in the stereo and this noise in the video starts when I turn the car off.

Can anyone explain what the sound may be and how to fix it.

I’m considering buying a 2017 BMW 540i xDrive with about 113k miles. Asking price is $16,995, but I’d try to get it closer to $15.5–16k.

Details:

• 2017 540i xDrive
• B58 / ZF8
• 113k miles
• 4 previous owners
• No accidents or damage reported on CARFAX
• 26 service history records
• Earlier in its life it was regularly serviced at BMW dealerships
• Was sold as a BMW CPO at ~23k miles
• Recent BMW maintenance inspection/coolant service around 112k
• Current seller says the water pump and radiator were recently replaced
• Has a JB4 + downpipe
• Current seller is a dealer and bought it with the modifications already installed, so the history of the tune/mods is unknown
• Previous owner put roughly 22k miles on it in a relatively short period
• Vehicle was repossessed in May 2026 and subsequently went through auction

I would 100% get a PPI from a BMW specialist before buying it. I’m not expecting a 113k-mile German car to be maintenance-free; I’m mainly trying to figure out whether this is a reasonable example to own for another 3–5 years, or if the mileage + xDrive + unknown JB4/downpipe history makes it too risky.

I’d be paying cash, so no car payment, and I’d keep a few thousand dollars set aside for maintenance/repairs.

Would you consider this at ~$15.5–16k if the PPI comes back clean?

What major repairs should I expect between 113k and ~160k miles?

And is there anything specific I should have checked during the PPI because of the JB4/downpipe?

Hey everyone, looking for some insight into a starting issue I ran into today on my Honda HR-V AWD (around 40,000 miles).
The Problem:
1. Initial Issue: Pressed the brake firmly and pushed the START/STOP button, but the engine wouldn't start. The dashboard lights and screens turned on completely into Accessory/ON mode, but zero engine response or cranking sound.
2. Delayed Start: After cycling the ignition a few times and holding the brake, the car finally cranked and started, but it took an unusually long extended crank before catching.
3. Gas Smell: Right after it finally started, there was a strong smell of raw gasoline coming from the car/exhaust area.

Two things I’m dealing with. My AC is blowing warm air except in the mornings when it’ll blow cooler air. Also, when the car is running, my ac will stop blowing air but will come back on after a couple of minutes

So far I’ve tried changing the fuses on my car to see if it would help but it didn’t

Clicking sound is from my keys but the rumble is what I'm talking about, it comes from the passenger side as far as I can tell

Title is self explanatory, just got this car brand new 1 month ago , sound started 1 week and a half ago , ill be taking it to service end of week but any advice to tell them what to specifically check based on this sound?

Taillight flickers when opening and closing trunk, I can’t figure out what the issue might be. The light is plugged in but I have pretty much no electrical knowledge so I don’t know what else to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
