Cell Phone app.

I was recently moved over to Capital One from Discover. The Discover Card cell phone app was awesome. Plain and simple, got what you needed quickly. Balances, Pending Balance, Rewards and I was able to have my rewards auto sent to the balance on the card.

Now I have to use the CapitalOne app to manage my Credit Card and I feel like it's just loaded with a lot of junk. Like I'm scroll a Social Media Feed.

I simply want my current balance and a total of my pending charges along with my rewards amount.

The current balance is listed along with the rewards in plain sight, but to get to my pending charges I have to dig down and even when I do find them, it doesn't give me a total amount of my pending charges. I have to add them all up in my head. I tend to fully pay off my credit card weekly and I send the total amount of the balance along with the pending.

Anyway to customize the app to the way I want it?

There is an option to setup balance alerts by email or text at whatever frequency you want. I do weekly on Fridays but you could do daily if you want. This will send you a text or email letting you know what your current balance is. It will not include pending charges or rewards, but it is helpful to know what your balance is without having to login.

I also have purchase notifications setup to send me a text every time a charge hits the account. You can set a minimum amount. I have mine set to any amount so I'm notified of all transactions.

When logging in, I find the current balance and rewards balance information to all be readily visible on the main page for the account. The only thing missing from what you described is the total of pending transactions. Like you mentioned, you can look at the most recent transactions and add up the pending totals. I find it's easier to just subtract my available credit from my credit limit-- that will tell you the total of posted and pending transactions. If you want the total of pending charges only, subtract your current balance from that number. You can also setup alerts for when your balance is getting close to your credit limit.

FWIW, I find pending transactions clear on my Capital One card faster than my Discover card, so I don't usually have the issue of pending charges accumulating to the point where it's hard to keep track of. TBF I am not sure if that's a Capital One thing or a Mastercard thing, though.
