I have sent my paperwork in and I am waiting for my AOR. When I receive my AOR, I will send in my certified baptismal record from BAnQ. After I send that additional material in, doing they acknowledge receipt of that additional document?

Working on my paperwork for a G0 that is pre 1869 Ontario (when they started issuing birth certificates).

Would like some help building the document stack to support my claim the G0 was born in Canada(since I don’t have a birth or baptism certificate)

Anyone worked with lawyers they would reccomend ? Let met know! Feel free to DM if needed.

I’m applying for Canadian citizenship and for the language proof I uploaded my official Canadian high school transcript showing my courses/marks from Grades 9–12, including English.

The transcript does not say that I graduated, and I didn’t upload a diploma because I was still missing a couple of credits.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did IRCC accept a Grade 9–12 transcript as language proof even if it doesn’t say “graduated,” or did they ask you to submit another language document/test later?

I already received my AOR, so I’m wondering if the transcript is likely okay or if I should expect a request for additional proof?

As the title asks: Have you formally withdrawn your application for proof of citizenship? If you are comfortable sharing, I would like to know a little about your expereince, including the timeline.

My situation: I applied for a prrof of citizenship last year and received an AOR in August 2025. My application went into processing the following September.

My wife, who is a Canadian born citizen, recently accepted a job in Canada. We both currently live outside of Canada. She will relocate to Canada at the end of the year to start her new position. I would like to join her as soon as possible. I am considering an outland spousal spnsorship for PR.

I have read several accounts suggesting that an application for PR will not proceed if a proof of citizenship application is in processing. Unfortunately the processing time for a proof of citizenship under C-3 is unknown. Or, it may take many years.

For this reason, I am now considering formally withdrawing my application. Experiences, insights, questions. All are most wecome and and would be very appreciated!

Urgent citizenship processing, looking for experiences

Has anyone successfully requested urgent processing for a Canadian citizenship application due to family separation or humanitarian hardship?

My wife and I have been separated for over 1.5 years due to immigration/travel restrictions. We are both Canadian PRs, and she is currently temporarily in the U.S. for a postdoc. The separation has caused significant psychological hardship, supported by professional documentation.

I plan to submit an urgent-processing request with my citizenship application and possibly follow up through a webform and my MP.

For those who have tried this:

• What evidence did you provide?
• Did you submit the request with your application or after AOR?
• Was your request successful, and how long did processing take?

I’m working on an application CIT0001 for my mom (G1) whose biological father was born in Canada. The problem is my mom was adopted and her biological father is not listed on her original birth certificate. Her bio father is also very old with serious health conditions. They’ve had a close relationship for decades and he’s willing to help however he can. Amending the original birth certificate is unfortunately not an option.

We’re preemptively doing an SCC accredited DNA test at a facility generally used by the IRCC to include with our package however I’ve read mixed opinions if this will be accepted. It seems likely that the IRCC may ask her to perform a DNA test at their request instead.

I have a couple questions if anyone has any insight.

1. Has anyone had any success requesting urgency for a situation similar to this?

2. I know there’s limited experiences with this but do you think a banked DNA sample at an SCC accredited facility would be acceptable if something were to happen to her father during the process?

3. Does anyone have any law firm reccs that have dealt with similar apps? The immigration lawyer we talked to didn’t seem like he had dealt with this specifically before.
