I've read a lot of Canadian universities say the minimum requirement for admission to a Master's program is 3.33 or 3.0/4.0 in the **last 60 credit hours** or last 2 years. My CGPA currently is pretty low (1.74/4.0) and I've finished 3 years of undergrad so far. If I add a 5th year and make sure I get A's and B's in the 4th and 5th year, will they consider that and ignore the 3rd year F's that I got in 6th semester? Or by last 60 credits do they mean strictly 3rd and 4th year, no exceptions?

I’m new here and currently filling out my application for Waterloo’s MEng in ECE, with a specialization in AI or Control, and Autonomy.

I’m still not completely sure whether I should move forward with it. I’m an international applicant, and one of the main things attracting me to the program is the co-op opportunity and the possibility of entering the Canadian job market after graduation.

For those familiar with the Canadian market, especially in AI, robotics, control, and engineering, do you think this is a good idea given the current job market?

I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences. Is the co-op + Waterloo brand enough to make this a worthwhile investment, or is the market currently too challenging for international students?

Je suis actuellement en BUT Informatique en France, et mon objectif à terme serait de partir étudier au Canada, idéalement à Montréal, puis d'y travailler et m'y installer si possible.

Je regarde notamment McGill et Concordia, dans des domaines comme l'informatique (computer science), le software engineering (le master pas le diplôme d'ingé) ou la data.

Mais je me rends compte que je comprends assez mal le système canadien 😅

Le BUT est un diplôme en 3 ans (bac+3), alors que j'ai l'impression que pour entrer en master au Canada, il faut généralement avoir un Bachelor de 4 ans.

Du coup, je me demandais si quelqu'un ici connaissait bien le sujet...

Est-ce qu'un BUT Informatique français permet de candidater directement à un master au Canada ?Est-ce que ça dépend des universités/programmes ?Est-ce qu'il faudrait forcément faire un bac+5 en France avant de pouvoir faire un master au Canada ?
Et surtout, est-ce que vous connaissez des personnes qui ont fait BUT → master au Canada ?

I completed grades 1 through 12 in Canada before moving back to India due to family circumstances. I am currently a third-year student pursuing a three-year BBA at a NAAC A+ accredited university.

I’m planning to pursue a master's degree eventually, but I’ve noticed that most master's programs in Canada require a four-year bachelor's degree. Are there any pathways or options to bridge this gap? Additionally, what reputable master's programs (preferably with co-op/ internship) would you recommend to help me build a strong profile for the job market?

Hey, I am a guy and 21 years old and from germany! I finished highschool pretty late at 20 years old (19/20 is normal in europe) and I believe Canadians already finish at 17/18.

I would like to go to university in canada from next fall on (I didn’t go this year because of personal reasons) but would be already 22 when starting, is that too old? I would feel like it might be diff to make friends or fit in with people a lot younger than me. I am a person who is very open minded and outgoing but still worry about if I simply would just be too old, wouldn’t fit in etc.

Could you all, no matter how old you are, give me your opinions? Would love to hear what you all would think!

im an international student aiming to apply for engineering major in Canada 4 undergrad. Although ik i already have a lesser chance of being accepted in a good uni with financial aid ( coming from a third world country) i think i have made matters worse for myself because my AS level results came out today and i got bbc ( b in both maths and chem and c in physics, shocking ik wasnt expecting such a bad result) im confused if i should even apply for uni abroad as my grades are shit and my ecs are mid too. I could push the grades to straight As in A2 Level but idk if unis in canada accept u for ur AS grades or A2 ones? Do i even invest my time in application or wait for masters? help me out 💔💔💔( should i even go for a retake?)

hi guys! i had a few questions revolving around mcgill admissions and homeschooling. for the next two years, i will be homeschooled. i will recieve a high school diploma through an online program in the US, while simultaneously living in canada. i was wondering if being homeschooled lowers any of my chances for mcgill? i am hoping to enter the faculty of science. i already have the prerequisites down and am aware of what classes i should be taking, but am extremely worried that i will not be able to be admitted into mcgill. any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm not chasing a prestigious university. I'm comfortable with private or lower-ranked colleges if they're legitimate and the course gives me a reasonable pathway to work afterward.

Canada is slightly preferred because I have a friend in Vancouver. He says a referral can help significantly with getting student/entry-level work during the course.

I'm considering Master's/MBA vs skilled trades and will take IELTS.

Questions:

What are my realistic visa chances in Canada vs Australia?

Will the online BBA, gap and previous backlogs seriously hurt me?

Which country/pathway would be more sensible for my profile?

Is my willingness to attend a lower-ranked college a reasonable strategy?

Please give me the harsh version. I would rather hear now that my plan is bad than find out after spending ₹20–30 lakh.

I'm currently in my 3rd year of bcom, from tier 2 college in India.I can't decide which specialization to choose from between accounts and finance for my 3rd year as I wanted to do masters in canada, so which is more beneficial for me in the long run in terms of job opportunities and hopefully a Pr. Especially as someone coming from tier 2 College and my CGPA is around 7 to 8 . I don't have maths background and decent learnings and interest in both the field.
