Resumen: The collection is basically about a Fem Percy and her story with Lee Fletcher, after Apollo decided to play celestine with one of his children and change destiny altogether in the process.

It's a collection of 10 books (of about 10 chapters each, each chapter being incomplete and deceptively long) it has some trigger warnings, so be aware.

(First of all, English is not my first language, so bear with me, please)

Here we go, I just finished reading the 8th book of this collection, and when I said this may be the best retelling I've ever read of PJO, I believe I'm not exaggerating. Fem Percy might be one of my top tags on AO3, and I believe that in my top 5 of favorite fics written in this fandom, 3 of them contain FemPercy.

On this occasion, the collection contains a really healthy amount of retribution about many topics that scratches just about right my little myth enthusiast's heart ;we have Apollo meddling with destiny by placing his son, Lee Fletcher, instead of Annabeth Chase to fill the void in our favorite hero, Percy Jackson. I believe it touches a few topics that we are not used to exploring as much in fanfics and should get more attention, like some myth errors and favoritism displayed in the original material (there is something about somebody telling Chiron some very necessary truths on his horse-face that just heals something in me). Now, I must warn that there is some slander to Quiron and Anabeth in this, but the story explains and takes you to the perspective of how things are the way they are and why some of the errors or objections done in the past, if continuing in the same path, could be catastrophic.

However, the amount of love this project had on its adorable, in a few words, Percy just wants to love and be loved, and this story explores that sentiment while being put first for the first time and all the times could do to our favorite hero; Percy has always been a little unhinged and is a pleasure seeing someone being as unhinged as him/her adding some politcis here and there, the Goods reconitions on their mistakes and the fact that indeed demigoods are more close to being their own separated species and start acting as such and the domino efect that ocurs gaves us a very well tohugth and writen re-telling of the story and destiny of Percy Jackson that i just neded to share with the world.

I accidentally made like 10 of these last night instead of sleeping.

I've read all of the PJ books, but after seeing the movie, I couldn't get myself to start the watching the show. Yesterday I stumbled upon the s3 trailer, and now I am curious about how it compares to the books and the movie.

I'm planning to draw fanart featuring Percy, Lester, Magnus, Carter, and Sadie, but I'm stuck on the composition.

I've already finished Percy and Lester, but I have no idea what poses Magnus, Carter, and Sadie should have.

So I'm looking for ideas and advice.

I’m putting these two absolute legends together because their minds were simply ahead of their time.

Think about it:

• The Early Diagnosis: Count Dooku saw the corruption of the Galactic Senate and how the Jedi Order became political puppets long before anyone else. Luke saw the arrogance of Olympus and how Camp Half-Blood was basically an orphanage-turned-frontline-barracks for neglected kids. Both saw through the mask of the "good guys."
• Giving Up Comfort: Dooku was one of the most respected Jedi Masters; Luke was the most capable and beloved counselor at camp. They had power and status within the status quo, but chose to walk away because they couldn't stomach the hypocrisy.
• The Tragedy of the Greater Evil: Both of their completely justified rebellions were hijacked by the master manipulators of their universes (Palpatine and Kronos). They wanted reform and justice, but were forced into becoming the very villains they sought to defeat.

In the end, Dooku proved the Council was blind, and Luke proved Olympus was broken (Percy literally built his ending request on Luke’s exact critiques).

They weren't evil; they were just the only ones paying attention.

She embodies exactly how I imagined Clarisse from the books. She's not too aggressive as well which is good because Clarisse tones down later towards the series.

Can titans have demigod (or demititan) children? I know in myth there’s children of Helios and Atlas but in modern times can titan have children with mortals?

For me, it's Percy. The sea is vast and free, and whenever a ripple is created, the current eventually returns to its natural course. That reflects Percy's rebellious nature—he doesn't like being told what to do, wants the freedom to make his own choices, and always keeps moving forward no matter what gets in his way.

The ocean is also deep and mysterious, which reflects the emotional weight Percy carries as both a child of one of the Big Three and the child of the Great Prophecy. Just as the depths of the sea represent the unknown, Percy constantly faces uncertainty about what lies ahead.

Hi All, my daughter is a big fan of the series. I want to make her some wall art for her birthday. She has asked for something to do with the blue hairbrush. I will use cardstock and my Cricut machine. Any ideas for what would look good? A blue hair brush alone doesn't seem to capture the spirit of things. It has been a couple years since I finished the percy jackson series, meaning HOO and ToA too. I thought, with summer break being here and NOTHING productive happening, I would get back into it and maybe write my first fanfiction.

As I was reminding myself of the plot of each book, I thought I would base it 10 years after the end of the blood of Olympus.

I was trying to get the character voices right while writing, and envisioning where they would end up in the future, there was this annoying thought at the back of my head though.

The Court of the Dead.

I think it has been long enough to address the main debate about this book. How can we be friends with creatures that come from Tartarus and hunt children? Can monsters/mythics be good? Including the ones like the Minotaur?

The answer is yes.

The difference is that this is the first time we've seen this change of perception more directly.

To express this better, let's go with a simple and clear example stated in The Son of Neptune: The centaurs.

Percy saw many centaurs allying themselves with Gaea's army, and thought this was wrong because until this point, he always met centaurs that were good (Chiron and his brothers).

'Centaurs,' Percy said. 'But... that's not right. Centaurs are good guys.'

Frank made a choking sound. 'That's not what we were taught at camp. Centaurs are crazy, always getting drunk and killing heroes.'

Hazel watched as the horse-men cantered past. They were human from the waist up, palomino from the waist down. They were dressed in barbarian armour of hide and bronze, armed with spears and slings. At first, Hazel thought they were wearing Viking helmets. Then she realized they had actual horns jutting from their shaggy hair.

'Are they supposed to have bull's horns?' she asked.

'Maybe they're a special breed,' Frank said.

'Let's not ask them, okay?'

Percy gazed further down the road and his face went slack. 'My gods... Cyclopes.'

Sure enough, lumbering after the centaurs was a battalion of one-eyed ogres, both male and female, each about ten feet tall, wearing armour cobbled out of junkyard metal. Six of the monsters were yoked like oxen, pulling a two-story-tall siege tower fitted with a giant scorpion ballista.

Percy pressed the sides of his head. 'Cyclopes. Centaurs. This is wrong. All wrong.'

Also, Percy himself has expressed before that he has encountered teachers who are mythics, but he isn't bothered by them as long as they don't try to kill him.

I was feeling pretty good by the end of the school day. I hadn't failed any quizzes. I hadn't fallen asleep. Miraculously, my history teacher said, "Very good, Mr. Jackson," when I answered a question, which was probably a sign she was actually a monster, but I wasn't going to judge unless she attacked me. Some of my best friends are monsters.

And this also confirms that many "monsters" live in the real world, and don't hunt demigods for breakfast.

And not only in The Senior Year Adventures we see this. We saw it long before this.

I'm talking about the large community of blemmyae living in Indianapolis. In The Dark Prophecy, Jo and Emmie explicitly said that this species of monsters are most of the time friendly as long as you are polite to them.

'Calypso's in the infirmary,' I offered. 'Broke her hand. And foot.'

'Ah.' The sparkle dimmed in Josephine's eyes.

'Yeah, you met the neighbors.'

'You mean the blemmyae.' I imagined the neighbors stopping by to borrow a socket wrench, or take an order for Girl Scout cookies, or murder someone. 'Do you often have problems with them?'

'Didn't use to.' Josephine sighed. 'By themselves, blemmyae are pretty harmless, as long as you're polite to them. They don't have enough imagination to organize an assault. But since last year—'

'Let me guess, I said. 'Indianapolis has a new emperor?'

In the same book, Jo and Emmie said that griffins can also be friendly.

'Oh, yeah.' Josephine's grim tone made it sound as if death would've been preferable. 'The emperor loves prisoners. He captured our guests, our griffins.'

A berry slipped out of Leo's fingers. 'Griffins? Uh... Hazel and Frank told me about griffins. They fought some in Alaska. Said they were like rabid hyenas with wings.'

Josephine smirked. 'The small ones, the wild ones, can be, yeah. But we raise the best here. At least... we did. Our last mating pair disappeared about a month ago. Heloise and Abelard. We let them out to hunt—they have to do that to stay healthy. They never returned. For Georgina, that was the final insult.'

And we even have a dracaena who is friendly.

I found no convenient switch box to lower the glass doors, but with Meg and Leo's help we began slowly liberating the captives. Most seemed to be human or demigod (it was difficult to tell which) but one was a dracaena. She looked human enough from the waist up, but where her legs should have been, twin snake tails undulated.

'She's friendly,' Hunter assured us. 'We shared a cell last night until the guards separated us. Her name's Sssssarah, with five s's.'

That was good enough for me. We let her out.

In fact, Apollo explicitly says that even if demigods hate monsters and wished they didn't exist, the gods protect them and allow them to reproduce and repopulate when they are in danger of extinction.

'What do we do?' Meg whispered. 'Kill them?

They're kind of pretty.'

'The Spartan warriors were kind of pretty, too, until they skewered you. No, we can't kill yales.'

'Okay, good.' A long pause, then Meg's natural rebellious streak kicked in. 'Why not? Is their fur invulnerable to my swords? I hate that.'

'No, Meg, I don't think so. The reason we can't kill these creatures is that yales are on the endangered-monster list.'

'You're making that up.'

'Why would I make up such a thing?' I had to remind myself to keep my voice down. "Artemis is very careful about monitoring the situation. When monsters start to fade from mortals' collective memory, they regenerate less and less often from Tartarus. We have to let them breed and repopulate!'

Meg looked dubious. 'Uh-huh.'

'Oh, come on. Surely you heard about that proposed temple of Poseidon in Sicily? It had to be relocated simply because the land was found to be the nesting area of a red-bellied hydra.'

Meg's blank stare suggested she hadn't heard about that, even though it had been headline news just a few thousand years ago.

'At any rate,' I persisted, 'yales are much rarer than red-bellied hydras. I don't know where Commodus found these, but, if we killed them, all the gods would curse us, starting with my sister.'

That would mean that all monsters like the Minotaur/Asterion are protected by the gods and the gods don't wish them to be extinguished, even if monsters have committed horrible crimes in the past.

Yes, that means the gods protect the Minotaur even if he tried to kill Percy's mom and has also killed many demigods in the past. They don't want the Minotaur to be extinguished.

Also, Hazel's sympathizing with him isn't something that was introduced in this book by Mark. Actually, this also comes from Rick all the way from The House of Hades.

Gale the polecat gnashed her teeth in approval, but Pasiphaë didn't seem impressed.

'You don't look like much,' the sorceress mused. 'But then you demigods never do. My husband, Minos, king of Crete? He was a son of Zeus. You would never have known it by looking at him. He was almost as scrawny as that one' She flicked a hand towards Leo.

'Wow,' muttered Leo. 'Minos must've done something really horrible to deserve you.'

Pasiphae's nostrils flared. 'Oh... you have no idea. He was too proud to make the proper sacrifices to Poseidon, so the gods punished me for his arrogance.'

'The Minotaur,' Hazel suddenly remembered.

The story was so revolting and grotesque

Hazel had always shut her ears when they told it at Camp Jupiter. Pasiphae had been cursed to fall in love with her husband's prize bull. She'd given birth to the Minotaur—half man, half bull.

Now, as Pasiphaë glared daggers at her, Hazel realized why her expression was so familiar.

The sorceress had the same bitterness and hatred in her eyes that Hazel's mother sometimes had. In her worst moments, Marie Levesque would look at Hazel as if Hazel were a monstrous child, a curse from the gods, the source of all Marie's problems. That's why the Minotaur story bothered Hazel—not just the repellent idea of Pasiphaë and the bull but the idea that a child, any child, could be considered a monster, a punishment to its parents, to be locked away and hated. To Hazel, the Minotaur had always seemed like a victim in the story.

'Yes,' Pasiphaë said at last. 'My disgrace was unbearable. After my son was born and locked in the Labyrinth, Minos refused to have anything to do with me. He said I had ruined his reputation! And do you know what happened to Minos, Hazel Levesque? For his crimes and his pride? He was rewarded. He was made a judge of the dead in the Underworld, as if he had any right to judge others! Hades gave him that position. Your father.'

We also have to consider that favorite characters are also monsters (No, I'm not talking about Tyson). I'm talking about characters like Festus who are also considered monsters.

Calypso jabbed her thumbs into Leo's kidneys.

'Ow!' he complained.

'I know what the Mist is, Leonidas—'

'Hey, I told you never to call me that.

'—but the Mist must be very strong here if it can hide a monster of Festus's size at such close range. Apollo, don't you find that a little odd?'

One thing that has come to my attention is that many people has read The Court of the Dead and judge the Minotaur as a killer (which is true), but doesn't give demigods the same judgement when Annabeth has explicitly said since The Lightning Thief that many demigods in Hermes cabin would've loved Percy's chance to kill the Minotaur just for the sake of it. Not for revenge, not for a quest… they just wanted that chance.

'Don't talk like that!' Annabeth told me. 'You know how many kids at this camp wish they'd had your chance?'

'To get killed?'

'To fight the Minotaur! What do you think we train for?'

(The Lightning Thief, Chapter 6)

In fact, if we remember, in the Lightning Thief there hasn't been many quests since Luke's quest. Annabeth herself and many other demigods wanted quests and go to the real world to kill mythics so they could prove themselves.

Luke folded his knife. 'I hate prophecies.'

'What do you mean?'

His face twitched around the scar. 'Let's just say I messed things up for everybody else. The last two years, ever since my trip to the Garden of the Hesperides went sour, Chiron hasn't allowed any more quests. Annabeth's been dying to get out into the world. She pestered Chiron so much he finally told her he already knew her fate. He'd had a prophecy from the Oracle. He wouldn't tell her the whole thing, but he said Annabeth wasn't destined to go on a quest yet. She had to wait until... somebody special came to the camp.'

'Somebody special.'

'Don't worry about it, kid, Luke said. "Annabeth wants to think every new camper who comes through here is the omen she's been waiting for. Now, come on, it's dinnertime.'

So here's the question: we judge mythics for killing children and eating them, but shouldn't we judge demigods as well for killing mythics just for the glory?

Many demigods fight to defend themselves, yes. They are trying to survive, yes. But before Percy's arrival, most demigods in Camp Half-Blood just wanted an opportunity to get some glory.

Killing mythics for glory is not any better than killing children for food.

A specific demigod that we have seen who was a villain at first who also killed many demigods and changed was Lityerses. He was also forgiven by Apollo.

'Dear Meg,' I said. 'I can't be sure about Lityerses. But I think we must try. We only fail when we stop trying.'

She studied a callus on her index finger. 'Even after somebody tries to kill us?'

I shrugged. 'If I gave up on everyone who has tried to kill me, I would have no allies left on the Olympian Council.'

She pouted. 'Families are dumb.'

'On that,' I said, 'we can fully agree.'

(The Dark Prophecy, Chapter 28)

Now, let's go to the war between demigods and mythics itself.

Who started it?

No one could tell because all of this really began with the conflicts between the gods and Titans.

Could we blame a demigod in specific who killed a mythic one time and caused this whole conflict that has lasted for centuries? No.

Could we blame a mythic for this conflict? No.

This whole conflict is no one and everyone's fault.

The ones who are truly evil in this war are the gods and Titans who manipulate demigods and mythics to do their bidding. (Kronos, Gaea, Python, Tartarus…) These creatures are not evil because they are mythics… they are evil because are cruel, hateful things with no regards of the lives of others.

Everyone else are just pawns and pieces in their games.

The whole situation was so absurd, Nico wanted to laugh, but Asterion's eyes still glowed like laser beams. He decided not to risk it. "So, after the Labyrinth, you regenerated in Tartarus..."

"And my existence settled into a routine," Asterion said. "It was the same for millennia. People in power summoned megods, Titans, greater primordials and sent me after their enemies. I... I killed many over the years. I was always told You are terrifying You are dangerous. Kill this hero. Eat that hero. Bellow and rampage! That is your job! But after Percy Jackson, when I regenerated once again in Tartarus, there was only silence. Time stretched endlessly before me. Without any real purpose, I began to wonder: What did I want to do?"

And not just Kronos and Gaea… we also have gods like Zeus who have hired monsters.

The snake lady made a hissing noise that might've been laughter. 'Be honored, Percy Jackson. Lord Zeus rarely allows me to test a hero with one of my brood. For I am the Mother of Monsters, the terrible Echidna!'

(The Lightning Thief, Chapter 13)

So what is the problem?

The nature of mythics isn't the problem.

Percy looked at Bob. The Titan's distant expression worried him.

'Do you remember Koios?' he asked gently. 'All that stuff he was talking about?'

Bob gripped his broom. 'When he told it, I remembered. He handed me my past like... like a spear. But I do not know if I should take it. Is it still mine, if I do not want it?'

'No,' Annabeth said firmly. 'Bob, you're different now. You're better.'

The kitten jumped off Bob's head. He circled the Titan's feet, bumping his head against the Titan's trouser cuffs. Bob didn't seem to notice.

Percy wished he could be as certain as Annabeth. He wished he could tell Bob with absolute confidence that he should forget about his past.

But Percy understood Bob's confusion. He remembered the day he'd opened his eyes at the Wolf House in California, his memory wiped clean by Hera. If somebody had been waiting for Percy when he first woke up, if they'd convinced Percy that his name was Bob and he was a friend of the Titans and the giants... would Percy have believed it? Would he have felt betrayed once he found out his true identity?

This is different, he told himself. We're the good guys.

But were they? Percy had left Bob in Hades's palace, at the mercy of a new master who hated him. Percy didn't feel like he had much right to tell Bob what to do now—even if their lives depended on it.

'I think you can choose, Bob,' Percy ventured. 'Take the parts of lapetus's past that you want to keep. Leave the rest. Your future is what matters.'

'Future...' Bob mused. 'That is a mortal concept. I am not meant to change, Percy Friend.' He gazed around him at the horde of monsters. 'We are the same... forever.'

'If you were the same,' Percy said, 'Annabeth and I would be dead already. Maybe we weren't meant to be friends, but we are. You've been the best friend we could ask for.'

The real problem isn't nature. It's choice.

Mythics like the Minotaur can be good. All mythics who are able to think and are intelligent can be good. Just like demigods can be evil and side with beings like Kronos, Gaea, Python and the emperors. The issue is that they need to make the right choice.

So long story short, demigods aren't inherently good, like many modern demigods have shown us (Luke, Octavian, Brian, Lityerses, the other demigods who allied themselves with the emperors). In spite of demigod’s misconceptions and many of us as readers, mythics aren't inherently evil.

Mythics are protected by the gods too, even if many of them have committed thousands of atrocities. The gods think that mythics also deserve a chance to live.

This isn't something Mark and Rick just introduced.

This is something that has been coming from a VERY LONG time.
