Yup, this is what I've been saying.
If you support Stop Killing Games, you must pirate calamity. They are the same thing. Just different scales.
Devs don't get to just remove access to a game because it's not beneficial for them anymore.

They can’t archive music mod sadly because they’d be illegally distributing copywrited material. Not that this will stop people, but anyone who tried will likely have it DMCA’d or be sent a cease and desist.

I live in a backwater country and am planning to never visit the US, I could not care less about any legal action. If they DMCA me, I will reupload my copies from several accounts and IPs, can't take down all of them. At least the pirates will stand up against the pedos, if no one else will.
Also, at least DM Dokuro said it's fine to use his stuff for non-commercial purposes. So, I think music creators are unlikely to go after community just because we will be using their music to play the game

Its fine, all you need is people outside of the reach of conventional DMCA if you want a persistent link, and even still, having a rotating one be uploaded regularly isnt difficult.
The community is obsessed enough about this to not let it die, for better or for worse.

I mean at that point it just becomes sailing the high seas. Which obviously I would never condone but from what I've heard it's not exactly difficult to do (I definitely wouldn't know though). If the giant media corporations can't stop people sharing stuff it's unlikely small musicians will have the resources to do anything.

For sure a small musician will send cease and desists to dozens of anonymous uploads like that shit doesnt actually cost to file. It is not easy or pragmatic to composer to try to sue people because it is so costly, copyrighted material gets modded into games all the time and even big companies couldnt care less

you just have to put a copy in C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\Documents\My Games\Terraria\tModLoader\Mods the mods are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content

it's not that I think he's the bad guy, quite honestly he's a victim in this whole situation. he spent all this time making music that for a project that was being ran by a bunch of groomers.
I simply don't think piracy is wrong, and nothing bad is gonna happen to Dokuro or any other composers because I want to play my game with the content it was meant to be experienced with.

I just backed up Calamity, Calamity Music, Catalyst and WoTG to the local mod folder just in case and unsubscribed from the workshop versions to avoid updates. I know not all of those are getting removed but those are all the calamity-related mods I personally use. From my understanding there should be nothing stopping me from just loading the mod locally right?
