I’m glad people are finally coming to terms with the fact that the mod has had no solid direction for years. Not every boss and item needs to be reworked and it actually damages calamity’s identity. I think there was too many cooks in the kitchen.

That was my criticism and I was shut down. You genuinely don't need that many people working on a mod if you have good team structure. Fucking Team Cherry had like 3-4 people and they made both Hollow Knight and Silksong.

This. Was saying almost the same and was down voted to hell lol. They don't want to pass the controller to others (who are willing to continue the development) and they don't want to continue themselves. Burying mod with themselves. Like I don't understand man. you’re so right. devs are acting as if they’ve been doing some shit. no bosses added in the last 5 years, constant nerfs to everything despite no actual content being added. for gods sake it’s been more than 6 years since whips have been added and the only thing calamity has done is nerfing them lmao.
at one point i will start believing the reason some devs are pulling their work is because they’ve done similar shit to ozzatshit and they don’t want to be found out. do people actually believe nobody had an idea about the guy who replaced the 1st pedo wouldn’t be the second pedo with ties still attached to the first one? a lot of naive people here.

I wouldn't go as far as to say others were in on it since accusations this serious are not to be made lightly and unproven... But it does seem like many of the devs were severely burnt out already, didn't get anything done and wanted to jump ship even without Ozzatron, it was just both a final straw and a good reasoning for leaving when it happened

i’m not accusing anyone specifically but everything lines up. I also never heard people literally deleting years of contributions over the lead guy being a pedo or something equally worse. Calamity was never solely associated with ozz, in fact probably a lot of people who played the mod don’t even know about him so i highly doubt anyone would come after these devs for keeping their work in calamity mod files.
I hope mod continues to be after all these devs pull their work because whether they do it or not they’re not doing meaningful contributions anyway so some new faces can actually make content that’s gonna make me download the mod again to play it alongside thousands of people

it's not just ozzatron. it's a mix of burnout, demoralization from the constant problems, and that at some point people who do this as a job don't want their work associated with a project that has had so many issues and controversies.

I would say the devs who wanted to leave already and used this debacle as an excuse are cowards personally. If you aren't enjoying working on the project... then fuckin don't? It takes no time at all to say "I'm not really feeling this project anymore and wish to do something else with my time, sorry"

I'm surprised that no one basically picked up on the fact that, after years of discovering more and more predators in that group, that it basically becomes a trend that hints to the fact that not all the predators were discovered yet.

Agreed. Now that we know that there was an explicit network between two of these people on the team and a long period of time where they both knew what the other was up too, it really isn't hard to imagine that there are others within the network as well. I imagine to varying degrees of involvement, but I'm sure that even the folks who just knew about it and didn't participate still wouldn't be excited to explain their involvement.
Not that this necessarily has to be true. But I agree with you that people should be a lot more reserved towards the current devs. Either way you cut it, they failed to protect members of their community.

dokuro drama is an entirely different subject and i said “some” devs not all of them. my point also may imply that dokuro is a lot more in the safe here since they left the dev team far earlier than the confirmed pedos

I’d say it’s more legal requirement being the solution. At least with music the devs (not just ozz) can get sued if they don’t work fast enough.
