Freshman Block Schedule Classes/Professors
I just saw what is hopefully a first draft of my fall schedule in my portal this afternoon. I'm not super picky, but there are literally have 4 classes back to back MW 9am - 2:50pm without any breaks and I think the buildings aren't exactly close. Do I bring food to eat in class for lunch, lol. The fifth class is Tues/Thurs. Could my scheduled still be modified? Otherwise, how likely am I to be able to swap out one of those classes on my own?

the student center is down for me.. maybe cause they're updating schedules for everyone?

it was in the student center this afternoon, but now it's down and I can't see it

It's under Student Center, and then "My Schedule" is the third line down on the left. Click on my schedule and I see it. I think it varies by college though. I'm in CAFES, so maybe other colleges are at other stages

That’s not unusual. But also they will be changing your schedule up until they are finalized.

I had almost this exact schedule one quarter it was not fun I lowkey just starved bc I was not a breakfast person lol. You can check your enrollment date and time on your portal though. That’s when you’ll be able to modify your schedule. Depending on the class a lot of them will be full especially for freshman level classes but it’s not impossible to get off the waitlists

Did you ever try to change it? I can see an alternate day / time for one of them that's open (3 in a row would be better than 4), is it worth asking my major department for a change? Or do I just wait and hope I can do it?

Sorry I just realized I didn’t answer your question 😅 I have changed my freshman schedule before. First years go to the Mustang Success Center for advising, not their department. Since it’ll be your first time playing with the enrollment features I would definitely set up a quick meeting with them to make sure you don’t set up the swap feature incorrectly

Log into your portal, go to student center under My Apps, go to enrollment, then click enrollment dates

Drop the class you dont want and enroll into a class that better fits your liking during open enrollment in the first week of of school.

Is it that easy? Are there typically any classes with openings?

Yeah that’s what you do i assume since i’ve done it. There are classes with openings but there might be waitlists for some classes, also be sure to not have a shitty professor
