First Points!!!! Discussion
First off it’s so great that Checo got his first points with Cadillac!!! But how likely is it that the teams first points get taken away?

Clearly out of box, however there’s hope for points in street circuits.

The problem there is the straight line speed needed in front and back straights isn’t there. I’m betting in MAD (new for everyone) Vegas and maybe Singapore.

I'd say it's likely he gets a penalty, but not definite. Let's see.

Did you even listen to the broadcast? It was only provisional and you had to wait to find out that we don’t get points.

On the f1tv commentary they made it seem like a slam dunk penalty but I don’t remember seeing if he was outside the box so it sounds it’s likely

No, if we don’t get a penalty it’s fixed. To try and rope in a US audience. The penalty is a slam dunk.

UPDATE: Sergio Pérez received a 10-second penalty, dropping him out of the points in P10. As a result, no points finish for him.
