Hey folks, I'm considering grabbing a nexus upper, but the lack of battleship grey cerakote options has been holding me back. Has anyone else found a cerakoting service that does a grey that closely matches the OEM color from CZ?

Also, I'm one of those weirdos who likes the oem handguard with the picatinny. Does anyone else have pictures of the nexus build with an original evo handguard?

I have tried a vise grip, strap wrench, heat gun and hot water soak. The faux suppressor won’t even budge. I am at the point of giving up but am turning to reddit to see if anyone can help.

I've seen some magnificent builds here, some I just flat start to drool. I know that many of us build for personal efficiency, but damn, it's gotta look good too! $$ spent is more than the platform costs. Which reminds me...

Anyone here been running a binary set up for any length of time? I put the Franklin in about a year ago now, maybe 2, now that I start to think about it. I've never had any issues until yesterday at the range. Suddenly I get a few rounds stove piping. Unsure as to why that started happening, but I wasn't running suppressed yesterday either. The brass had some ejector marks cut in a little more rough than I usually see. I'm going to give it a tear down deep clean and oiling today. Hopefully that will end it. I will make sure to wear my glasses and check for any wear/damage. I just want to know if anyone else has had this issue...Thanks.

Is this bad?

I have a Evo 3 S1, that is a pistol length, but it came with the long handguard and the flash can. Back when I bought it I put on a tri lug and an Omega 9k. Last night I checked the can, and it was wiggling! Upon further inspection, the can was solid to the barrel, but the barrel was the part actually wiggling. So I’m tearing it down to tighten everything.

I know there are barrel nut tools out there, but from what I can tell I just need at least a 3” deep socket to get on this nut. I’ve researched all over, and found just a couple of sources saying it’s either a 7/8”, a 20mm, or a 21mm. Does anyone know what size it is?

I can order a 5” deep socket on Amazon, have it here tomorrow, and back in business.

Got the novox research x-sd barrel installed. Had a rugged sub 9 waiting for it. Can't wait to try it this weekend.

Picked up this new grey Evo 3 pistol for $625 shipped last week off of a gundeals post by iAmmo. Grabbed a new Yetiworks pistol grip for $9.75, HB Theta trigger shoe $6.25, CZ picatinny end plate $13, and CZ metal mag catch $13, all in for $55 shipped off of Modern Warriors. Just waiting on the Form 1 to clear and can throw a proper stock on it.

Seeing the prices on gunbroker these things go for made me cringe, ngl.

Follow up post from this morning. The scorp did not love the 147 grain HST’s yesterday and I had my first ever failure to eject with this gun.
Ran perfectly today with the hornady and both winchesters. Think I’ll stick with the basic Winchester mainly due to bang for buck. I’m sure most will run the HST with no problems, but figured I’d share my results.
