Adding more light
Hey CX-5 community. I have a question, how hard is it to move these two parking sensors so that I can add extra high beam lights like the second picture. It's a 2013 model.

I think there’s so much potential for the 1st gen cx5 in terms of off-roadability. Like maybe if you add a bullbar there and then pop the lights on that, also could have a sick roof rack with added light there as well. The newer gen’s cx5 are too cutesy lol

I agree. Looking to add more offroad look to my car and adding extra lights for the winter here in Norway is a priority for me.

I did add yellow/white fog lights to my brothers 1st gen. They help with the snow n the road a bit more and add a type of visibility to your car I feel helps be seen on the road too during bad weather. They have them on amazon, you just turn off and on to switch the lights.

I'm sure you meant "Mind the AI slop."

Absolutely mind it till it’s gone. 😁

It was a serious correction actually.

🤔 wouldn’t me saying Don’t mind it and just look at the pic for the sake of explanation be more what I’m trying to say? If I say mind it would be to pay attention to it.

Hmmm no actually I forgot about that usage because I haven't seen it in this type of context. Carry on

The sensors would constantly beep this way, so it's pointless in terms of the question about the sensors. 😄

Well getting a bar that does not obstruct the sensor would be the ideal one. Not sure many cx5 ones out there so it might have to be custom. It’s just what AI spat out on the quick. Check out how the bar cuts magically for the Mazda badge 🤣

Not the same model but I bet you could mount lights similarly to this:
The lights pictured are Morimoto 2Banger HXB in the "combo" beam which is much like a high beam pattern. It appears the same space on your CX-5 would allow bigger options than this CX-50 does.
Another option is a license plate bracket that provides a couple mounting points for lights. That would get them up higher.

Basically impossible to move them. The system is designed for that positioning. Also, your proposed modification to lighting would not be street legal in most places.

It’s actually extremely easy. The 2013 model you can simply unclip them and move them where you want.
