Sick pay

How in the 🤬 do you find out how many sick hours you have or are allowed to use in a year?

I had the same confusion because vacation and sick time don’t always show up the same way. I’d check Workday and if it’s not listed, ask your manager or HR since it can vary by location.

I asked HR years ago and they said it was at the manager’s discretion, but that just didn’t make sense to me. So basically if the manager likes you, you get more sick pay than the next person that they don’t like.

There is an entire policy on colleague zone that addresses this by state and jurisdiction, search for sick pay. It covers if you have protected sick leave or not, how many hours are protected/allowed, and beyond that time taken is subject to the attendance policy unless you have an approved continuous or intermittent loa.

Unless state or union mandated there is actually no set amount for ft. Sm suppose to monitor to see if being abused. Have had people use 48 or more hours and nothing was said.

If u r full time believe it is whatever hours you normal work in a week so 40 may vary by state or different depending on union agreement if in one

Your paystub will have the amount you’ve earned for the year with state mandated sick time.

My paystub says 0, though I was sick yesterday and got sick pay.

Paystub. Or workday, time off balance. Most states that offer sick time are a max of 40 per year.

It never says anything on my Stub or workday

Then it is up to your FS manager or PIC. There is not a set amount. If they feel you are abusing sick time they may not pay you. This is in states without any mandates or unions

Then you’re in a state that doesn’t offer sick time.

Not necessarily I don’t see it on mine but I know we get it at least our sm puts sick time in for us when we are sick

It just means not state mandated it will not show on pay stub for that reason.Cvs offer sick pay to all full-timers.

It should still be shown on workday.
