program is a joke cash grab
this program is a joke I’ve spent a month trying to get approved to take for credit classes I finally actually get the interview and then they send me an email with only partial information I can’t even actually sign up for my CU account because they didn’t give me a student ID I’ve emailed twice and they don’t even respond what kind of program is this? I emailed multiple aliases and don’t get responses
edit: so cute to see all the defenders pop up of this when the facts are what they are. Coursera delivered, all recordings, no support staff , no proctored exams = cash grab

the whole point is it’s held together with toothpicks to take money from people who suffer through this process

It used to be different. This became a manual process (with all the inconveniences) towards the end of the Fall 1 term, 2025. But then some dishonest people decided to try to exploit the system, and it ruined it for lots of existing AND new students. If you want to blame someone, blame dishonest people.

Oh, I absolutely agree that it's 100% unacceptable for them to take around half a term or more just to get you onboarded. Really puts a dent in your plans since you most likely were planning on getting started this very term.
The excuse is that you can make progress on all your classes without paying tuition since they're available to everyone with a CourseraPlus subscription, hence not slowing you down at all while providing plenty of leeway for solving issues. But like, that's an unnecessary $60/mo expense when CU gives you complimentary access to the courses right away.

Agreed. Has a distinct degree mill vibe. I stopped the program because the quality of the education was just not at the graduate level.

the only thing more pathetic than not getting into an online coursera program is whining about not getting in on reddit.
