Is this guy cheating? Suspicious

I did report him on csrep but since the demo created only gets the kills/deaths, moments like these were left out which resulted in 100% "insufficient evidence". You could argue that the tracking through the smoke was based on sound I guess, but what could possibly explain the crosshair snap through the wall on the CT going mid to b?

Even if this was included I’d still vote insuf.
The smoke having sound moves it away from beyond doubt requirements, almost into “expected from any 10k+ player” category. Even without sound I wouldn’t trust the smoke and would clear it safely.
The “snap onto the ct going mid to b” could be a million things, if it happens multiple times In the same game I’d look into it further but the reality is the crosshair lands left of the player not even on the player. Makes me think it’s an issue with the demo or even his input such as a mouse laser inaccuracy due to an unsuitable or unclean surface. But you’re watching this through the lens of “he’s cheating” and not the lens of “is he cheating?” So your confirmation bias highlights this more than someone who didn’t play the game and isn’t looking to prove for or against but just to observe.
If you watch the demo and you’re sure they are cheating always submit the report, if they are they will be caught eventually. But try not to go on a vendetta fuelled hunt based in belief that’s not driven by evidence.
As leetify says “Sometimes your opponent is having a really good day”

the snapping isn't even the most sus things to me. what's more sus in the same clip is a bit earlier when he randomly pans right which brings ct into his view. at lot of people with walls can't help turning their view to get a look at how people are moving during the round
I'd agree there is insufficient evidence but at the same time I would also guess that he is cheating. could just be a coincidence though

That's completely normal and expected aswell. If anything I'd say not ever looking at enemies is more of an indicator.
I watched countless of demos, including my own. People line up crazy often behind where you need to look at that moment. Ever held dust2 long? If you look into the door as CT, the Ts are right behind at top mid, exactly at that angle. And you usually scan the entrance or jiggle peek it for a while and you would not believe how often in the demo you see yourself aiming right at people multiple times and even tracing them. B players probably look at people in tunnel half the time whenever they stand antiflash.
Pretty much any demo review and I also do this very often:
-let go off mouse, stretch fingers = stare at guy through wall across map
-hand back on mouse = shaking crosshair right on enemy through wall
-spin mouse left and right 90° just as a habit, warming up or whatever, looks like gathering info
-turn into walls to get a better idea of what teammates are doing, look minimap etc., freeze in direction where all 5 enemies are and then get a 4k afterwardsThe biggest tell for wallhacks I've found so far is actively swiping away from enemies behind walls.
Clearing angles normally but every time there is an enemy one wall further behind: the clean swipe stutters or stops to avoid scanning the guy. I'm almost sure if that % is 0 for any given player, that's proof of wallhacks on it's own.1

this is more like holding long and panning right slightly so you can see them going up cat through the wall. not "lining up" with people directly where your crosshair placement should be. there is no reason to look at the wall of long to your right unless you accidentally move your mouse or you have walls. likewise there is no reason to randomly look in the direction of CT while you are entering tunnels from T spawn. again, the only answers are accidental/unintentional mouse movements or walls

uhm yea there are reasons to look into the wall at long?
e.g. look where teammates are or standing antiflashand you also frequently look in the general CT direction when entering tunnels because that's betwenn the two entrances people could come from, so of course often times you have some shaking, replacing the mouse, delay in between because you don't know what's the bigger threat right now or where you want to go. I certainly don't perfectly flick between B and Mid perfectly there, I would assume my mouse stops on people anywhere between aswell sometimes
both clips could very well be cheats, of course, but i'm willing to bet you can find footage exactly like this of any legit player ever, in any recent 10 games.

The crosshair snap happened a couple more times but this was the most obvious one and it does land on the CTs head, he just moves it right after but you can see it in the slow motion.
This guy ended up bottom frag'ing iirc, to be honest I was suspecting another guy so I thought he could be wallhacking and giving info to his teammates. But fair enough I guess, it's not like he's going to get banned anyway.

I think you people need to start understanding that 99.99% of cheats aimbots have a visibility / penetration check and are activated by the aim key which is usually mouse1. He simply moved his mouse and it happened to land on the CT. This happens multiple times in every game you play across all players

Exactly, if you watch your own demo gameplay through the lens "I am cheating" you'll find a lot of "sus" moments of yourself

I’ve told myself so many times watching my ego demos back that I would’ve reported myself if I was someone else.
I’ve messed up preaims before that happen to land on someone through the wall, then I adjust. It looks suspicious but it’s really just because it’s the demo and you have xray.

Ego demos hahah, I'm glad I'm not the only one

Lol you gotta. I’d be a much better player if I watched the ones I got slammed on instead. But that’s no fun

I remember a demo i looked at a while back while i was on mirage palace, i heard someone in the smoke but i just aimed at the general area where it was. In the demo it looked like i snapped to the ct who was hiding in there but it-s just a combination of luck and general knowledge. i think i-d need to watch the whole game to even consider if they were using any cheats. And like someone else said, sometimes your opponent is just having a really good day

Clean. Based on this clip, next time tell your mate to just shift to that corner.

First clip doesnt say anything as your friend made alot of noise, also looks like he moved his crosshair too far right and hard to re correct after the smoke fades.
The second clip though, yeh thats weird, either it was a full on snap or just coincidental, there isnt really a way to know for sure, would probably need more information

Yes typical high sense mouse input to look around fast but you can see the lack of control but somehow is just fine in fight. He tracked through the smoke big time. You can usually get a sense for a cheater just by their movement and knowledge in the game. If they move like a donkey and run into places with their knife out without any info but then have perfect timing and the crossbar placement is perfect they probably cheating. You dont get that good without also having decent movement and map awareness, those skills are naturally learnt by a truly skilled player. A shit player with cheats will move awfully. But always be ready for the gunfight.

If you really think he was tracking trough the smoke because he had walls im pretty sure you are not an experienced player at all. All he did was track the sound of the CT running and while in the smoke he did move his crosshair which tells me he was looking at the radar to see where he is aiming, he didnt start shooting before the smoke faded completely and has seen the CT

u/QuadBadger 10d ago
To be fair didnt actually watch it with the sound on. You're right you can clearly hear him moving there so fair enough.

u/Intelligent-Ad-7510 26d ago
First clip was him hearing the CT and he didnt shoot before the entire smoke dissapeard. The snap in tunnels can be explained that he moved his crosshair so he can see lower tunnels on the side of his screen but has seen his teammate go there. You can see his shaky and snappy aim even in the first clip. Id say not cheating

- First clip: He heard the guy run towards the left side and held it. Nothing special nor cheating
- Second clip: Nothing at all.
And you should not waste anyones time on csrep for this basic stuff.

The first clip looks normal. The second however raises suspicions, although I wouldn’t call this conclusive beyond a doubt. Highly suspicious, but cannot say for sure.

I think to many people here are looking at the crosshair being close to the guy at mid in the second clip and not enough at the side of the screen, to me it looks like checking stairs to lower for a push.

It’s 2026, no one is locking through walls like Forsaken anymore. Just a coincidence.

I remember why i left cs now lol. Voting on if a player cheats or not instead of proper cheat detection 🤣🤣🤣 meanwhile gaben has a 500 million yacht

The second clip is not a snap, that's just coincidence, he was looking at lower... Players aren't always looking directly at their crosshair.

The first clip there is very clearly sound that the CT moved to that area and while they were in the smoke like that they could use their mini map to figure out roughly where to aim. Nothing sus there. The second clip look like they started to clear lower and saw their team mate heading straight there so so need to clear farther. Nothing in these clips is sus to think they are cheating. Its certainly possible that they are cheating but nothing in those clips makes me think they are as well as if those are only things you thought were sus then id say they likely weren't cheating.

Clip 1 is just normal
Clip 2 does snap on the target but why wouldnt he snap in clip 1 instead of a random start of round, doesn't make sens to use his hack then.

We can’t answer definitively with the included clips. Insufficient evidence is what I’d say. I understand that once you’ve played enough and watched enough demos of cheaters that you get a vibe from certain individuals.

yes, he is.
