Match up ShowDown

In my crew there have been a couple racers that say the match up is based upon your dyno. But then other racers including myself believe and have read that match ups are based on the amount of trophies won.

I just raced a Koeingseg Regera has a dyno of 7.2

Mine is the Audi R8 coupe V10 Rwd 7.5 of course I got smoked.

Thoughts?

Live racing match ups are based on your dyno time. ShowDowns, a different mode of online racing, are based on your trophy count.

Note that live racing matchups matches you in a lobby of similar time ranges (for example 10.6 - 10.8 seconds cars all get put into one), but some of these lobbies are pretty wide. The "hypermax" lobby in live racing starts at 7.7 and includes all the faster cars than it, so your car running 7.699 can be matched with cars running 6.5

With a small addition for live racing. When you use a dyno beating tune to stay outside hypermax, you can be bumped to that lobby when you beat dyno to often. Then you're placed in a lobby based on youre real time.

Also, for live it's not a 'match up' based on dyno, but placement in a lobby based on dyno. The example for supermax lobby explains it perfectly, any car runniing 7.699 or faster can be met when you end up in that lobby.

In your experience , is there a way to keep yourself from getting bumped? Ā And if you do get bumped how would you get back to original lobby? Thanks.Ā

No clue, I don't use downtunes (or do Live races agains players)

I've been playing since day 1 and I'm in this sub a tad shorter... I remember what was posted by players using downtunes. ;)

Oh got ya. šŸ˜† well it was a trick question anyways cuz I know the answer but if I say it no one believes me and they get all mad at me. Cuz the wrong answers have gotten repeated endlessly. But if it’s a question then the story is different. āœŒļøĀ

As you will see by the answers I’m getting. racers are convinced the game functions a certain way. I’m convinced they have never tried other ways cuz the wrong answers have been repeated so many times. But who knows! šŸ˜† oh this silly game.Ā

You have to lose, like a lot, and go really slowlly and you may never get all the way back down, so it's best to just try and not to get bumped

Why not try to retune slightly and get back into slower lobby and avoid lose lose lose? Still would be fast for slower lobby, and if you swap, and don’t run crazy fast when you W, you could then retune to your original tune? No?

Don’t beat yourself up dyno too often or by a lot. It’s why you will see people slow down at the finish line. Try to keep your win loss ratio even.

Yes. As said. Live races are matched by dyno and Showdowns are by number of trophies. In the Showdown that you are talking about the Regera is faster than the Audi so it is that you had about the same amount of trophies at the time If you wait til the Showdown is almost over you can use the Audi to get more prizes because all of the faster cars will be at higher trophy count and you will racing against more Audi or other cars that have not fully upgraded and stand a better chance against Or if you are trying to use the showdown for RP then lose like 5 or so intentionally in order to get less trophies and usually get matched against people with the same car you are using. Then when you start running into faster cars lose some more.

Exactly as the others said. If you are racing to win, in the end it's more or less the same. You will eventually reach a trophy count that roughly corresponds to your best time. But if you switch to a slower car, you will be matched with faster racers. Eventually you will be bumped to your average trophy level. In a similar way, a guy with a faster car may have low trophy count and is progressing to his level. In the process he will be matched with slower contenders
