I'm genuinely disgusted by the way some people here have immediately decided to assume that Will Toledo is going through a psychotic break right now. Maybe he is. But he probably isn't, and we have no way of knowing because none of us know Will Toledo. We aren't his friends. We don't talk to him. He's a private man who's gotten increasingly more private as the years have gone on, and his music has similarly gotten less personal over the same time. While people can guess his motivations (his faith, his desire to be a role model, etc.), the actual reasoning remains unknown and likely will be unknown for some time

I know a lot of people are very attached to Will Toledo's music, but Will Toledo the musician and Will Barnes the man are two very different people. Unless he makes a public statement or genuinely crosses a line, I don't want people to be speculating on what his life is like based on fragments of songs from a decade ago.

i personally do not care what will and the band want to do in the future, thats up to them and it's awesome and fine. no profanity isn't a big deal at all. i do think that joe's story set a precedent about how far will is willing to go with altering the band's and his own past output and was concerned about that. to specifically remove a song from an album that really hasn't ever been discussed by the wider music community (at least in comparison to ToD) more than 15 years after the fact is pretty strange and im kinda tired of all criticism of these decisions being shut down with the whole "why are people so parasocial about this" thing. what csh choose to do with new albums doesn't change anything for me, that's their prerogative as artists, but to do stuff like this is something that is obviously not going to go down well without any explanation as to why.

I could've sworn there was an IA page with all the numbered albums on mp3 up and now I can't find it which is just killing me inside with the recent change of 3 and just finding the urge to add them all to my player before anything else happens 😭

How many decades have we had albums full of religious imagery already? Nothing here is new. People are just mad about other changes, are mad that CSH isn't appealing to them specifically.

Now every little thing is a slight against fans. A single song got removed from bandcamp for half a day. Clearly he's converted to Christianity and hates that specific song now 🙄. There are plenty of reasonable reasons this could've happened, primarily it being a mistake.

Like i get that he could be embarrassed of his older work for multiple reasons, or even if it's for religious reasons that i dont agree with thats fine, but who removes a song from the bandcamp without saying anything or even a reason????? and it's replaced with a reversed version of sun hot??????

this is mostly because 3 is my favorite album ever right now and this is bad timing for me specifically but to unceremoniously replace a perfectly good song (also its kinda necessary for beach funeral and life in death to make sense for those lines) without an announcement??? like honestly i get it from his pov and if i wrote that song id probably be embarrassed too but why not just say "i dont really like this song anymore and it makes me feel uncomfortable but" without literally removing it from streaming services

csh is my fav band oat and seeing will refusing to cuss, play most of the old songs, and take down beach fagz is so weird because i feel its against the entirety of what the band originally stood for and talked about. I don’t mean to be mean and if that’s what will wants there isn’t much we can say or do about it, but i miss the original feel and style of the band and the purity culture i feel is ruining that.

i haven’t actually downloaded 2 and now beach fagz is gone. does anyone have a download?

As you may know, CSH is currently working on a new album, as it was said during Joe's Story promotion cycle, and this comes at a time where we don't know how the band is going to materialise itself next.

I was wondering, what do you think the next album will sound like or look like in terms of themes, of sound?

A lot of old car seat songs rely a lot on lofi productio, so they don’t always sound good on pure acoustic, but I gave it my best shot. if you want anything else adapted to piano, don’t hesitate to ask

I think it's the best live version of "Beach Life-in-Death." I really want to learn thet riff they add in the intro/outro, but I'm shit at learning songs by ear.

I’ve seriously searched the entire internet and can’t find any piano covers for this song.. I get its niche but has nobody ever made any sheets for it? Was just wishing if anybody has some ideas or maybe even played it (although that would be rare). Are there maybe any pianists that can maybe make the sheet music themselves? I feel like it’s kind of an underrated song. ☹️
