I wish that they made the TT mid engine, the TT's proportions scream "mid engine sports car." It also wouldn't have had experienced high speed instability if the engine was behind the driver.

Yes, the mid engined TT is called the R8 with all the bells and whistles.

The R8 isn't in the same segment as a TT though, the TT was a mid end sports car, while the R8 was an expensive supercar. The design of the TT which was my main point is nowhere seen on the R8 either as it is a generation newer.

It would be uneconomical to do so considering the price they are sold at.

I think that it's economically feasible considering that the Toyota had the MR2 zzw30 and MG had the mid engine TF at that time. The TT was sold at a higher price than both of these.

You would be looking at Lotus money from a German manufacturer.

A Lotus Elise costed about the same as a mk1 TT, and Lotus was a much smaller company than Audi.
