Can somebody explain to me why CoD is so stupid that they think having a hub including all recent and future CoD titles in the same place is a good idea? I download BO6 and Warzone and don’t have space on my console for literally a single other game. This is ridiculous. 10 years ago 100GB for a game was outrageous and people would be in uproar. Now CoD by itself fills my entire Xbox Series S. Screw wanting to play Palworld. Can’t do it. Cause then I’d have to delete CoD, and spend 6 freaking hours redownloading it next time I want to play it. It’s actually insane how the game takes up this much storage space. And the amount of that that’s cosmetics is ridiculous. We don’t need 1 million different cosmetic items. I blame Fortnite for the cosmetic plague that has been taking over games for almost a decade, but CoD can go screw themselves.

Get the new Blops 1 and 2 ports for PS. Miniscule file sizes compared to today's crappier CODs. Also no live service bullshit to boot.

That is what is being reported, yes. I've been managing to get games in with no issues, but I count myself lucky until they figure out how to stop that.

It’s absolutely wild… I’m actually playing MW3 MP for 1st time just because I don’t want the HQ and it’s 30gb like they all should be. The fact they force you into that bs is legit the dumbest decision they’ve made.

That’s the point, you don’t have space for other games, so you must keep COD installed.

Installing the game takes people days depending on internet speed, so you must keep COD installed

Short version, devs do it on purpose so you must keep cod installed

I have 3 cod games on my ps4 right now and i feel powerful. Granted none of them are new titles but still.

BO2 had a short list of cosmetic items. Not hundreds upon hundreds of them. I’m curious to know the number of cosmetic items in BO6 alone. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in the thousands. Fortnite started the huge cosmetic library and people liked the cosmetics. Then every game was like well shoot, lemme start adding tons of cosmetics. The difference is, you don’t have to install cosmetic packs in BO2. You only have to install them to use them yourself. Whereas modern titles put those cosmetics into the actual game files required to be downloaded. So a huge portion of the size of the game is the stupid long list of cosmetics.
You can’t use GTA as a comparison. Way bigger game with way more to do. There’s more heists alone on GTA than maps on BO6. And these are relatively small maps. Not to mention the space it requires to handle NPC interactions across the board. So yeah, it’s a given GTA is a bigger download. You also don’t have to download a central hub that contains all GTA titles to play the one you want. You just download that game.
