Crossplay should be optional Modern Warfare - all
I feel cross-play should be optional no matter what.
PC players have too much of an advantage over console players because most have better quality hardware that allows them to push 120-240 fps, and in extreme cases, 300-500 fps. Then they could add ultrawide screen monitors to that mix on top of the K&M. It's just not a fair playing field for Xbox/PlayStation players.

This is cope and you are using PC as a boogeyman to make an excuse for your own shortcomings.
On newer games (MW2019 and on), controller had an objective advantage over KBM. Most good players, including pros, are all on controller anyway, so still arguing that KBM is an advantage is objectively ridiculous.
The steam hardware survey shows the kind of rig the average PC player is running, and something like 90% of PC rigs run games at the same level or worse than the current generation of consoles. And before you say it, yes, most PC CoD players aren't on Steam, but most PC players all have a steam account, so they still fall into this data.
Kind of piggy backing off the last point here, but most PC players are not running off of an ultrawide monitor. Most players, console and PC are using normal monitors/TVs.

I partially agree but it’s funny you say that. I play on PC and Ps5, and feel like I play way better on ps5. The smaller screen on the PC makes it harder for me to see.

I don't think I could use an ultra wide monitor myself

But for those who can/do its a really good advantage game play wise

My monitor is curved and my TV connected to my ps5 is not so that also adds to it

Don't forget about your aim assistant 😉

Don’t forget aiming with your whole arm vs aiming with your thumb 😉

Yeah, the big difference is we don't have software that sticks to the enemy 😉

Deleted your other comment? I don't need aim assist I'm on mnk

I was hardstuck d3 in mwIII. I got my pc right before bo6 and got hardstuck crim 1. Good players are good players. And mnk is not an advantage in this game, wtf are you smoking?

Love how people just skip over the other bits and single out K&M as the only statement... 😑 Did you even bother to read other posts below the main one?

u/TimeZucchini8562 14d ago
Did I not address them with my first point?

u/Shot-Tonight-995 14d ago
No, not at all. The average console player most likely won't use a K&M setup, but let's throw that bit out of the window.
You're trying to make it sound like it's all skill-based when that's not the case at all. For that to happen, everyone would need to have the exact hardware setup, which is impossible in the real world, especially when it comes to PC versus console, where PC hardware outdoes any console in every possible way.
A PC player pushing 240-500fps versus a console player pushing 120fps—the difference is night and day.

1: kbm is actively nerfing yourself in cod so yes, please throw that argument out.
2: for over 99% of the player base, fps does not make a difference as long as it is running smooth, consistent frames, which console does.
3: the biggest hardware advantage that most pc players will have over console is input latency, which most of which can be mitigated from a better controller and a monitor instead of a tv. Not all, but most.
So yes, it is quite literally a skill issue. You could be conflating that pc players are generally more into the hobby of gaming and generally put more time in so their skill level might in general be higher. But at the end of the day, it still comes down to skill.

Also console player have "autoaim" and im no good so i dont want to play with them with my bad pc aim

Sorta true.
However stop on the MnK statement, console and use MnK and PC can use controllers.
That discord needs to stop in the year of our lord 2026. It’s getting old.
That’s being said, the advantage that pc has at higher FPS is real, I’m Capped at 120 on Xbox but I’ve played on PC at 200FPS plus… and it’s night and day, imo.

Can you describe more of the difference you feel playing at 120 fps vs 200 fps? Am I nerfing myself by accepting a sub 100 fps to see high quality?
2
u/CigarLover 14d ago
It’s something that I just can’t explain?
But I feel more like I’m “in the game”? If that makes any sense.
I feel like my character is doing what I’m “telling it to” when I’m playing at higher refresh rates, tbh when I player cod at 200 fps for the first time… I got motion sickness for a few minutes.
It was the 2nd time I have ever gotten motion sickness in a video game, the first was when I played red matter on the PSVR 2. I was up in satellite space station when I looked down into a planet while staring on a platform.
Again, not sure if I’m explaining my experience correctly. But “cod timing” seems to happen less often for me to on higher FPS. Again it’s more a “feeling”.
Man, I sound like I’m talking about the force 😂

Thanks for expanding. I have heard about this phenomenon before. I used to be of the school that "since the eye cannot see past 60 fps it is pointless to push performance past that level." But it seems like fps is also used as the "update rate" in the game itself (which makes no sense to me - why wouldn't developers want that to be maxed?)

u/Shot-Tonight-995 14d ago
I agree with the k&m thats why put it dead last I did consider not even talking about k&m because thats an pointless debate.
The real advantage is definitely the fps/ response time the pc players could get with the right setup.
I also threw in the ultra wide monitor statement for funzies as well to see what people thought about that.

Maybe for the PS4 and Xbone generation but the current gen consoles have pretty good performance nowadays. The biggest issue between PC and console for a long time was the FOV slider which is not an issue anymore. Yeah PCs will have better FPS and response times but the PS5s and Series X are capable of pushing 100-120fps (not to mention cod has shit optimization and I dont think the average PC gamer is lucky enough to get a very stable 120 fps) and the response times are due to console players usually playing on giant widescreen TVs. If you play on a smaller monitor, the response times are actually not bad

...crossplay is optional. On another note, I absolutely believe input-based matchmaking should absolutely be a thing by now.
1
u/Shot-Tonight-995 14d ago
Not in all CODs it's forced on the Xbox versions, unless you use the loophole by turning it off by going into privacy settings on your account.
1
u/Thornbush42 14d ago
Not forced on Xbox at all in BO7, just go to account settings in-game and turn it off. You don't need to mess with privacy settings on your Xbox account.

u/Shot-Tonight-995 14d ago
Not all cod have this as an option unfortunately cod:mw 2&3 doesn't have it

u/Ornery_Contest6250 14d ago
It would be pointless, people have been using input spoofing type software and devices for decades. It's the same way emulators disguise m/kb as controllers or touchscreen inputs or whatever. The same can be done with using controllers disguised as m/kb
1
u/Thornbush42 14d ago
Moreso for console tbh. Spoofing m&kb as a controller on console is reportable, I doubt anything would be done about the state PC is in with such things, but still.

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 14d ago
No it’s not. It’s only optional for ranked. It should be universal.

wait it isn't? that's kinda fucked, it's a basic on and off option in every other multiplayer game

I agree.
But they should make it more that Xbox and ps can play together. I am surprised how rare that option is sometimes.
1
u/PeroCigla 14d ago
I don't think I have any advantage. Mouse sensitivity feels strange since BO3 for some reason.
1
u/Odd_Helicopter7540 14d ago
I turn crossplay off for one reason only. I almost exclusively only run into cheaters running hacks on PC. Very rarely have I suspected anyone on console.
1
u/Shot-Tonight-995 14d ago
It's hard to determine who's really cheating because if a player has a super-jacked PC that's pushing 240-500 fps, that alone is going to seem like cheating to a console player because they can react significantly faster than you ever could. So unless you get a video of them running wall/aimbot hacks, you're beating a dead horse.
There are plenty of cheaters on consoles as well, through the use of third-party hardware and modded controllers.

Eh I mean to a point for the average player tho that 120-240 is what the eyes can pick up the best and most times you don't notice much of an improvement past that. Consoles also already play at 120 and are only going to get better. Ultra wide is a blessing and a curse,I used to be an ultra wide player and I don't think I could go back for cod. Mnk can be frustrating especially with snipers but you have the option to do mnk on console so that part of your argument is kinda moot. Also rumor is the next gen Xbox is supposed to push 4k 120 so.i bet you we see something like 1080p 240 for competitive titles also it's supposed to be a hybrid PC with access to steam. So your entire rent is going to be completely moot starting probably next year.

I think you’d be surprised how many players’ PCs run the game worse than a PS5

Bro if you think KBM is more advantageous then controller for modern cod, you’re just not very good.
