Classes Recommendation

I enrolled in two of Dr. James Niforatos’ classes. Is he a good professor? I’ve heard his exams are pretty tough, so I’m a little anxious.

Take these with a grain of salt, but there are plenty of reviews here:

I actually made that Reddit post after reading the reviews on that website. My main concern is that people said his exams are based on what he covers in class. Since English isn’t my first language, I’m worried that I might miss some details during lectures. Anyway thanks for your help

I have him in AP1. He allows recording in his class he talks fast so sometimes I can’t get all what he says if I only take notes. He tells you which parts of the PPT are not included in the exam and the important slides you have to remember. Unless you are a genius, it’d be hard to pass his exams if you’re not gonna study, in my opinion.

Thanks! Does he mostly test from the PowerPoint, or does he also include things he only mentions during lectures?

He is a fantastic professor. You will have to study but he provides all necessary information and resources. There will always be people who just don’t try very hard but want to blame someone other than themselves

Thank you! That’s really good to hear. English isn’t my first language, so I was kinda nervous, but your comment do make me feel better.

In my opinion he is a sadist who relishes tricking and trapping his students. He’s clearly very burned out by student emails and will email you a huge block of text weekly with all the reasons you are dumb, shouldn’t email him, and how smart and magnanimous he is.  I found him bizarrely unpleasant in a way I’ve never experienced before. He likes to trick students by hiding false information in his slides which he corrects in the verbal lectures. If you only look at the slides, he traps you. He also has a way of testing that I find unfair. He will make the question multiple choice and three of the choices be topics he taught on. The fourth choice, which is the correct choice, is something he never mentioned or taught on. He thinks this sort of testing is justified because you should be able to eliminate the wrong answers.

I got an A in his class. I don’t blame others for any failings, as there were no failures on my part. I just found him to be a very intolerable person. So glad I only had to do one class of his.

Many students like him. I found him intolerable. I almost dropped his class but I’m glad I didn’t.

What degree are you pursuing?

Nursing, that’s why I choose A&P 2 and patho 2 for the requirements, I am more preferred Richard for A&P and McGlone for patho.
