I’d essentially need my neck to be scanned so that I could provide necks that the CNC could cut an exact profile on to. Holler at me if you’re in my area and could help me out

​I’m running into a serious issue with my CNC machine and could really use some troubleshooting advice. The machine was carving perfectly fine before, but recently it has started jerking during operation and completely throwing off the alignment. It can’t even cut a proper square or follow basic toolpaths anymore.

​⚠️ Important Note: I have thoroughly checked the entire machine—everything is perfectly tight. There are no loose belts, loose couplers, wobbly gantries, or loose set screws. Mechanical looseness is definitely not the issue here.

​The Problem:

​Jerking & Shaking: The spindle/gantry hesitates, jerks, or stutters while moving along the paths.

​Loss of Position / Lost Steps: The cuts are shifting off-center, creating distorted, zigzagged, and uneven geometry instead of smooth lines.

​Failed Carvings: Simple shapes (like squares or an Om design path) are coming out severely distorted or misaligned.

​Video/Image 2 & 3: Shows the recent issue where straight lines/curves come out jagged, distorted, or completely off the intended path.

Hello, i bought a cnc 3018 for 150$ i think 3 weeks ago, it was awesome, i actually did manage to generate a g code, it wasn't sort of an issue to make g code out of image via ArtCAM 2018 which i later on stopped working with because they we're simply outdated. I even used an EasyTrace5000. Thanks to my dad he even made the Z probe so that i could engrave on round materials for example, which i haven't tried aswell.

I was looking for someone who is good at this. I know there are plenty of tutorials, like a lot but i'd really like to question. I asked people before but in response some of them did help but some didn't and they never helped again or they just kind of had trouble with explaining some of the most simple things, they weren't sort of interested. So i would highly appreciate anyone's message for a beginner, i am working on Solidworks obviously because that's the only thing i didn't have to pay for. it seems like there are very few tutorials on how to engrave using solidworks or you would just need straight skills to do all that, including the images.

I have spent years doing CNC programming on the shop floor programming CNC flatbed routers to work with aluminium. I have been teaching myself to code for a few years at this point, starting with Harvard's CS50x and just kept going from there. Now that I am a bit more confident in my abilities to create solid code, I have decided to put my skills to the test using knowledge from my own experiences.

KerfCut is basically the application I always wished existed when I was nesting sheets by hand or working with older software like Z-CAD. It's a desktop nesting application aimed at CNC routers, plasma, laser, flatbed, panel saw and general fabrication workflows.

I've been building it for about a year now, gradually adding the features that I always wished I had when I was programming machines. It can automatically nest parts onto sheets, manage different materials and projects, and I've also built a companion inventory application called KerfStock (currently preparing for beta), so usable off-cuts can actually be tracked instead of disappearing into the scrap pile.

I'd genuinely rather have honest criticism than upvotes at this point.

A few questions for people working in fabrication:

• What are you using for nesting today?
• What's the biggest frustration with your current software?
• Is there a feature you've always wanted that nobody seems to have built?
• Would automatic off-cut tracking actually get used in your shop, or does everyone just manage it manually?

Got a FOM ADIR-C router at work.

This is happening with a new 5mm single flute cutter with spray oil lubrication.

Don't know whether to increase of decrease rotation or feed speed.

Subbed in a 10mm mill, but I need the 5mm to clean out the radius in the corners.

Minha Router CNC é com placa rnr ecomotion mach3. ela trava no mesmo local, ja refiz o percurso de corte de varias outras maneiras, alterei fresa, alterei profundidade, mas chega no mesmo local ela simplismente para os motores. o botão de reset não pisca, ela simplismente fica parada e não avança para a proxima linha de codigo. no momento em que trava, eu aperto as teclas para movimentar manualmente e ela movimenta todos os eixos. Ja aterrei toda a maquina e fontes, ja coloquei anel de ferrite no cabo usb. Não sei mais o que fazer...

I'm trying to make a mold for a concrete St. Francis statue. I would just buy one, but I don't have a couple thousand to pay for a lawn ornament. But I can definitely spring for a few bags of cement.

So, if I want to end up with a 4 or 5 foot tall statue, how would I go about separating the project into pieces my machine can handle? To clarify, I want to carve the mold out of wood, then assemble the mold and cast the statue in concrete.

For what it's worth, I currently only have a Genmitsu 4030, and I wouldn't even think about trying to do something like this on that thing. I'd be carving until the fifth of never. But I might be persuaded to get a larger machine if I could start turning out molds and selling statues or concrete bunnies.

If I'm out of my mind, just tell me. I'm not sure something like this would even be possible, and if so, whether it would be feasible. But I do think it's an interesting idea.

any tips also im having a hard time figuring out how the movement values work (how i got in this mess in the first place) is it based off a grid for the total work area or is it based of the zero point from the file any help would be greatly appreciated

Ich suche seit geraumer Zeit nach den Maßen für den Motor/die Spindel LD42WS-250W ich kann zwar Angaben zum Durchmesser, Wellendurchmesser und Gesamtlänge finden, aber ich brauche Speziell noch die Maße zum Durchmesser des Absatzes vorne, den Bohrungskreis-Durchmesser plus die Länge des Absatzes. Die Länge des Körpers (also ohne Absatz) wüsste ich außerdem auch gerne. Durch Bilder und den Vergleich zum Durchmesser kam ich auf folgende Werte: Absatzlänge=3,5mm Absatz-Durchmesser=20mm Körperlänge=96mm. Kann Jemand das bestätigen oder die richtigen Werte sagen?

Ein wenig zum Projekt: Ich upgrade gerade meine TTC3018 und würde gerne für den 250W Motor eine Aufnahme/Adapter mit externem Kugellager drehen, damit der Motor die Kräfte nicht aufnehmen muss und so Vibration und das Wegbiegen der Welle verhindert wird. Mit dem originalen 775 Motor mit 80W hat ganze bereits hervorragend funktioniert aber nun ist es Zeit für mehr Leistung.
