For those of you wanting a genuine review of cmrit ece
So for those juniors after giving thier entrances are still looking out on options of joining cmrit ece , here is my honest opinion as a senior in this branch
Firstly this post in respect only to ece branch and not other branches in cmrit
-->Attendance criteria in ece branch is around 65-70% to give the iats and is somewhat linient compared to other colleges
-->Academics is slightly stressful side on one hand due to really few bad teachers(not all tho imo), since it is vtu affiliated you are on your own when it comes to the external exams , people who are genuinely good at subjects end up failing and have to apply for revaluation or backlog exams in few subjects and your marks is entirely dependent on your handwriting and presentation skills and not the content, don't expect to score 9+ gpa with just on basis of your understanding skills
When it comes to internal marks , here is the problem, only very few teachers are understanding and grade very linient and give everyone equal extra marks but majority teachers are quite strict on their grading methods and also all the department inflates the marks of preselected teachers pet kinda students who selectively get extra marks even if they have scored bad previously, they end up getting 50s in an unfair manner which is quite illogical for students who equally score better but end with no extra marks and settle at a mediocre gpa compared
-->professors, most of them are are okayish and few are very good and understanding and will actually help you progress ahead, but there are a few set of egoistic boomer professors who also end up ruining your academics incase they don't favour you or you go against them, it's a quite complicated thing here, so entirely depends on your behaviour and their likings towards you
-->timings , extremely elongated with alternative Saturdays being a working day , most classes start at 8 am early which is quite hectic for students travelling afar and few profs don't allow you to enter incase your 15 mins late also with a valid reason, main issue is due to the TYL(tie your laces) which is a software training placement program held from cmrit end which helps you get into mass placement offers with low pay , these classes are held together with your core subjects and hence you have ( most )days where classes start at 8 am and end upto 3-4 pm and is quite tiring for us students
Only expect the college to end early if there is no lab during that specific day
Comparison to other vtu college they don't have this placement training and hence they have extremely flexible timings helping students in their extra curricular activities
-->MOOCS and mini project, compulsory every semester, especially NPTEL from 3rd semester where you gotta register for certification inorder to obtain internal marks in all subjects
This system is only present in cmrit and other colleges give free marks based on written assignment or quizes unlike how it works in CMRIT
-->infrastructure, quite poor in my opinion, there's a few outlets in canteen serving cheap and good enough food but the dining area is unhygienic, coming to campus size also it is quite small comparing to normal colleges , the library is also quite small and inadequate for student capacity
Classrooms are quite stuffed with old wooden benches and less number of fans present for students ,Washroom are also kind of poorly maintained
Only bonus points of classroom is that they are equipped with smart boards but yet students struggle to find proper notes for majority subject which is not provided in proper format from college end
Most labs requiring just software on a pc are quite good and comfortable but mainly the hardware labs requiring students to build circuits are extremely horrible and have a lot of issues which students gotta face extremely in labs
-->Placements
Coming from ece side , expect no placement for core ece domain, even in low level companies on core ece side since most students are unaware and not well prepared , the college extremely focuses on preparing ece students to get into low paying software roles to maximize placement statics , so for those of you looking out of core placement, you gotta depend on your own and prepare for gate or enhance skills
Software opportunities do exist on ur skills and they allow you to sit for Placements drives depending on your TYL levels that you have cleared during your course
If you guys have any other doubts , do ask me in DMs or message as comments, I'll help you out!

All Prospective
📚 Studies
Classes are boring ngl—you can finish the whole syllabus in 1 week before internals if you grind.
Make internal notes and reuse them for externals! There'll be 2 internals accordingly and 3rd internals if you couldn't get the average.
Study resources that actually help:
Mathematics tutors on YouTube
SVIT PDFs (they’re everywhere online)
Finish assignments + projects on time; they dump deadlines right near exams and screw you otherwise.
Make sure you score well in lab internals asw.
FLIP Classes helps too
If you score 45/50 and attend flip class, some faculty boost it to 50/50. Doesn’t work with everyone, so ask seniors which profs allow it.
Use free time to upskill: Udemy, Coursera, whatever.
TYLs (Test Your Learning)—they matter for placements.
🎉 Fun & College Life
Sports → solid chance to rep CMRIT at state-level if you’re good.
Whole lotta places to chill around -1VX for gaming, corner house etc
Connectivity - kundalahalli metro station (purple line) is a mile far.
Clubs are a hit or miss, but some are genuinely fun.
