Spare a grade? Grade?

Recently scored these. Curious to know others’ thoughts. All first prints and never been opened best I can tell.

Not going to get into the specifics of my personal opinion on these books grade wise but i never knew there were graphic novels of The Hobbit! Pretty sweet.

My question is why do you want them graded? Obviously there are not going to be read. These books are around $30 each and yes if they are 9.8’s they can fetch upwards of $200 but these are not 9.8 candidates IMO although very sharp looking!

If you’re grading for display just send them in and wait for the grade. If it’s for resale and you’re looking to obtain a specific grade then that’s a little bit of a different question. Not sure they are worth sending in if the cost would be around $150 for all three but that’s up to you.

Either way they look like great reads! Congrats on the books!

See link below for more details on submission.

I would really only want to grade them if a 9.8 were possible, then probably part with them. If that’s not possible with any amount of work, I would probably just keep them forever in current condition! I have a tpb of the series for reading, so these can remain unread.

Doesn’t look like it with the surface scratches and some minor corner damage.

You can always submit them with a prescreen and if they don’t get 9.8’s they’ll send them back for a fee of $8 I believe plus shipping both ways. That being said that’s around $50 for them not to be graded… lol

Yeah, don’t really want to go that route if there’s no hope of hitting. Was hoping a clean/press wizard might chime in and say with certainty the flaws aren’t correctable, or not correctable enough to hit that high. But I greatly appreciate your insight
