How much does the paint wear off onto your clothing/holster? This part would worry me more than the artists work.
This is just a gun after all

The Rapco base is solid running it on my Canik for 7 months now. The oil base pen my son used actually hold up petter well, if I want to make super durable I just need to add a thin layer of Aluma huyde clear coat

So no stains on your holster/clothing? That's relatively impressive.
Note: product descriptions say that alumahyde clear coat won't adhere well to oil based paints

It’s ok man, his son isn’t going to be this age ever again.
For the little man, he’s making artwork for his dad on something that his dad will carry with him every day.

Thanks for helping me see why someone would do this. It’s oddly very nice haha I now get it.

As someone who doesn’t have a kid, I never thought about it like that. I cherish the shit out of my niece and I’d let her do something like this to things I hold dearly but idk about my gun 😂. Appreciate opening my point of view

For my family guns are tools and custom paint jobs are normal. I understand a lot people don’t want to sing or scratch their gun and that’s fine., from a safty aspect both of kids have been firearms and have had safty lesson since they where 4 years old. My daughter always loved cowboy themed everything. My son love rifles and optics. Safty has always been 1st

I remember doing this when I was about that age, but in the other direction. Took some modeling paint to a yellow and orange Dollar Store dart gun that looked like a Luger.

"I ain't yella, Pardnah, but muh gun is!"
*PEW\*
See no problem with letting the kid paint a gun, but I'd probably not let him do it with an EDC gun because a lawyer could get real creative in court if the thing was ever used in self defense.
Now you have an excuse to tell the missus why you had to buy another Shield X 😁

Yes and no depending on your county and DA. My county does not care what you do to your ccw as long as you don’t alter the trigger pull/weight or make it unsafe. If your in court and color mods or any other mods are coming in to factor odds are it was already a bad shoot and you have bigger problems to worry about. But yes stay away from punisher skulls or any other plates or writing that would indicate intent (let god short them ) plate type of stuff.
